  • The english translations of this song are both powerful and creepy at the same time! This song is kinda wierd in a good way you know? I've always liked different music like this! :D

  • VERY WELL put together

  • i9 saw it once with my class on broadway and i am privlaged enough to be going with some friends and family for my birthday next month

  • @princessvulpix100

though it is true like treemeadow said

actually rafiki's female on the broadway production because the director felt there needed to be a strong female role in the story

  • holy god my ears!

  • uuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmm is the singer a girl because rafiki's a boy

  • @princessvulpix100

Women often take on male roles on stage.

  • i got simba he drew on the tree tattooed on me!!

  • thumbs up if u stroped at 1:33,look at nalas sad face, and start crying!

  • i think that the german version of this sounds better thats my opinion

  • @roxy567 I never understand why they laugh at that part either, I just saw the show yesterday again and they still laughed. They probably don't understand the tears

  • @feliciadiaz12 Same I saw it last week and people laughed... I guess for them it's some sort of comic relief but I didn't think it was funny at all... In fact I thought it was beautiful how they portrayed it.

  • bam bai bam bai bam bam balle xD

  • Whoever was playing Rafiki in December on Broadway SLAYED this solo. She was astounding. I was completely moved. The rest of the production was ridiculously amateur compared to this solo.

  • I remember this scene when the lionesses' cry, and their tears are febric, does anybody else remember this?

  • @r0xy567 yea i just watched it in my country.

oddly, the entire audience laughed at this part when the fabric sprang from their eyes.

i can't explain why it's funny but it's some sort of a cultural thing i guess

  • @r0xy567 Yes it was so beautiful! I looooooooved Rafiki! she was amazing! :)

  • @sSupernaturalholic ummmmm.....rafifis a boy.....

  • @swiftshadow2000 Not on broadway :)

  • @hackimusprime shut up and quit bein immature. she said like ( Li-Ka)

  • @hackimusprime thats what i always thought till i was actually bothered to look at the lyrics and find that its leka

  • wtf is she talking about...ffs

  • @Gdanohrukrodmmtefce

If you go to metrolyrics and type in rafiki-mourns-lyrics-lion-king.html after the slash you'll see Rafiki's part is translated.

  • german version is better >)

  • I got chills....makes me wanna cry. I wish lion king would come back to Atlanta :(

  • love it

  • this song is so sad and very tense, a lot of emotion put behind it. And yeah this is rafiki mourning the death of her good friend, mufasa

  • beautiful

  • Pretty!

  • sad 5/5

  • This is soooo sad =( this almost made me cry

  • The ending of the song is a bit ominous don't you think?

  • Yup. Coz he's erasing the picture of Simba...

  • have you seen the stage production? this moment transitions into scar's eulogy for mufasa and simba and the "be prepared" reprise which, sadly, isn't included on the recording. the ominous swelling of strings substitutes.

  • This makes me want to cry Does anyone else have that same feeling?

  • I don't blame you. Every time I hear the part at 1:44 I start tearing up at once.

  • i know what you mean. actually, when i heared that part i kinda wanted to either burst out crying, or burst out laughing. or maybe both... i don't know!!! It was just kinda weird...

  • oh they are crying becuiase of the death fo mufasa

    they burst out crying

i aagrre it sounds like laughing

  • oh i know. It makes me want to laugh, though.

i hope thats not a bad thing that it makes me laugh

but the singing in this seems very complicated... sounds like something i would sing... XD

  • if you think it is funny

thats ohk me 2 it is a little funny

    XD
