Tracy's game is based on athleticism, Kobe's game has always been based on skills/fundamentals/shooting. I don't remember McGrady busting his ass on defense the way Kobe did, and he could not have slowed Iverson as Kobe did in Philadelphia in 2001.

I'm not sure if either of them got better talent wise. They were just presented with an opportunity to play with better players. Everything gets easier when you play with other guys who can really score or defend. The other team can't sag off anyone. That aside, if you go by stats, TMac had a better season in 03 than Kobe in 06.

When you think about it though, Tracy McGrady can do anything that Kobe can do and he's taller than Kobe. Kobe is an amazing player, but if you really take a look at Mac's skill set, TMAC is just fluid when he plays the game of basketball. Its just fun to watch his game. It comes so naturally. When comparing the two careers:

If healthier: TMAC
