It run better if he has the next step up and used SSD's though. Cause i have a M15x i play on and was playing crysis 2 on extreme and this seems close to as laggy as this is. So i drop it to Very High and it ran so much smoother.

I have this monitor for 1 year now. Get the 5-year replacement warranty. Had column of dead pixels and then 2nd one sent out was a dud. Fast service. Have a great monitor now. Use with PS3, XBox 360, Mac Pro Tower, and MacBook Pro and still have extra inputs left open (for wii, DVI, and SVGA). Frickin amazing Color (if you use a calibrator (for Photography).

Oh really. You obviously haven't seen all the posts on the Eve forum complaining about the small fonts, crappy font style, and shitty colour. And yes, you can enlarge the fonts, but ONLY up to 12 points, and at 1920x1200 which is the highest resolution you can go in the UI the lower case letters are just 2mm high. So chew on that, and see how your eye enjoy reading such small text on a 24 or 30 inch monitor.

First, 24" TN monitors cost $300-400 and there are no 30" TN panels. A 24" VA or IPS panel runs somewhere around $600 and is a better comparison. My guess as to the primary reason 30" panels cost so much more is that there's less of a demand for them. They need a higher profit per monitor to get a return on their investment in manufacturing them. There is also the quality control issue. A few bad pixels can ruin any size display so cost will grow exponentially with the size. (if only slightly)

you guys, the ps3 has only 256mb XDR ram (ok its @ 3200mhz), and ONLY 256mb VRAM (900mhz core), aside from her massive CGPU- the CELL, which is an Octa-core @4ghz, the machine itself is not built for heavy-multitasking, its fast alright, but for the counterpart, its small, VERY small for a next gen sys. a c2d @3ghz + 2gb of ddr2 @1150 can easily take the ps3 outta the frame (not being a hater, coz i actually own one)

It's still very much up to date and kicking ass though, OC'ed i7, 6 gig of fast ddr3, only thing that is ageing is the 4870X2 but it's still a powerhouse, and you can bet that 2GB of VRAM is being put to use at that resolution

Well, the Phenom II 940 is also an AWESOME CPU, and for games is up there with the i7 believe it or not, the i7 maybe like 7fps or less faster in some games.

The i7 though is slightly noticeably faster in other tasks though, but otherwise the latest Phenom IIs are amazing, specially the 955 when overclocked.

The PS3 is very powerful, yes, but it has almost no RAM, games are written to run mostly of the cell processor and its Graphics Card, when windows was loaded on it, it was 24minutes from boot to start menu. Plus, all the Consoles get 1080p HD which is 1920x1080 resolution, and newer graphics cards for PC get 2560x1600, way higher than HD. (the core i7 sucks anyway ;)

Not entirely, If put in a good decent case then they can be ok, but under load they become rather warm and the fan speeds up considerably due to this, they are about as loud as ....maybe 3 case fans running, but when doing desktop or net surfing they a rather quite. If you want one and have water cooling add it into the loop to make it silent.
