  • ford has a 6.9 naturally asperated diesel engien than in 94 came the powerstroke 7.3 untill 2002 than in 2003 they changed too 6.0 than in 2008 thy got the 6.4 liter than in 2011 they got the 6.7 twin turbo you guys are all fucken idiots dont go talking shit if you dont now whats going on doo research idiots

  • @dieselfanatic13 the cummins block has been the same since introduced in 89. Only the head has changed and the crankshaft. And those have only changed to keep up with emissions standards. The Cummins is the most Durable Light Duty diesel engine out there bar none.

  • @Pbtbreakingpoint Clayton relies on synthetic Rotella 1540 for engine oil and Fleetguard oil filters. Transmission and rear end fluids are also synthetic. He gives them at least part of the credit for never having touched the 6-speed transmission or the rear end.

  • 7.3's have never been very impressive unless there highly moded, my v10 is a sorry joke the ones I've seen can hardly get the sled moving then shortly after the driveshaft gives out. Ford first needs to build a truck then worry about putting in a motor thats worth a diddly. However I have to say they do look impressive. You would all be kidding yourselves if you didn't admit GM pulls the best out of the showroom.

  • You guys must not go to many truck pulls. Ill tell you right now a Chevy or Gmc Duramax Isuzumax whatever will outpull a Ford or Dodge any day of the week.

    I make sure to hit as many truckpulls as possible we have dozens of them in Wisconsin every summer, and like it or not Tundras while not many attend. The ones that do, pull the same weight as the HD pickups. Just telling like it is.

    My 2003 Ford v10 is a weak dog not afraid to admit it.

As a person interested in ford and dodge (American made things that actually have balls) this is a perfect time to remind some of the ass clowns living amongst us today that it takes real power to break parts like these. I mean sure, you put them on a Isuzumax or a toyota Cuntra they will last longer than the truck itself, but I think people would rather their engine break their drive shaft than the drive shaft breaking the damn engine.

Straight any simple, I'm thinking you haven't heard about the long list of problems with duramax, and the fact that the engine blows up, and that you basically have to replace it with a new one. Yes I'm a fan of Fords, and yes the 6.0L was shitty, but don't even try to tell me the duramax diesel is worth . I'd take a 7.3L or even a newer 6.4 or maybe the 6.7 anything but a durmax. like I said there are alot of quaility control.

    I'm sorry but you are a idiot, I'd take a 7.3L by 2000 they had NO issues with the engine. I dare you to tell that to some of my friends who own a 250 with a 7.3 in it, they love them. Should I pull up a list of issues with the Duramax that haven't be fixed?

  • Here you go, I sent you a link, these guys even say the 6.6L Duramax can't even touch the 6.0L and it was one of the most problematic diesel engine Ford made. That being said, some owners worked them and they turned out to be amazing diesel engines

    They took a transmission from a tank and put it into a medium duty truck, which blows up more often than Dodge or Ford

  • @02lb72500HD this BULL SHIT coming from a chevy boy. the only leak this truck has had was a transfer case seal. not a single leak from the engine. i know it does happen. i had a guy in my shop few weeks ago with a cummins that was dumping about a gallon every 150 miles he said and it was from the front crank seal. the truck had 184,000 miles on it. it can happen to any of them. had a rear main seal in a Dmax with only 59,000 miles on it that the owner said he was adding a quart every 100 miles.

    I'll bet you next summer at the truck pulls some fool with his new 800lb torque Ford will show up and get outpulled by a stock GM Duramax. Then the Ford will also need a new drivehaft. Do you ever go to any truckpulls and watch the Fords break???

  • all makes have their own seperate good qualities. I am a ford guy, but i like the allison trans. I like the cummins engine. i like the 7.3 turbo diesel. Fords drivetrain is pretty shitty. dodge cant seem to the that front axle in line with everthing else. chevy uses a freakin izuzu motor. All have strong AND weak points.
