The thing about Billy the Kid was he was no worse then anyone else around him. If he was a psychopath then he was in good company. He did however have a knack for killing people but in the Lincoln county war that was nothing special, so did everyone else Billy rode with.

Read the book Frontier Fighter by George W. Coe. He was with the Kid in the Lincoln Co. War. He doesn't agree with me when he died but it is a first hand account of the war. The Coe ranch is still in Hondo Canyon in Lincoln Co.

Notice that at .05-.10 the photo of Billy shows him with his pistol on his right hip ? Seems odd for "the Left-handed Gun". Not really. He was left-handed, but the photo is a 'tin-type' that reverses the image - like the image you see in a mirror. He is wearing the pistol on his left side; the photo is the mirror image which makes it appear that he's wearing it right-side.

billy the kid (William Henry McCarty) was accused of murder by a group known as the santa fe ring, a group that did things that where shady and illigel even to day, billy worked for a rancher at the time, and his boss was gunned down in cold blood by the santa fe ring. billy did nothing to be confected and in 2009 new mexico announced that he whuld be Pardoned of his crimes, but never was due to loss of torisum to see the famus outlaws grave in new mexico.

The thing about Billy the Kid was he was no worse then anyone else around him. If he was a psychopath then he was in good company. Personally I don't think he was a psychopath because he had strong loyalties to people which psychopaths usually don't develope. He did however have a knack for killing people but in the Lincoln county war that was nothing special, so did everyone else Billy rode with.

@Vveind Garrett and the kid were friends. They meat hunted together one winter. I used to live about 1.5 miles from his grave site. After a lot of research. It looks to me that he died in Hico TX. Read the book Frontier Fighter by George W. Coe. He was with the Kid in the Lincoln Co. War. He doesn't agree with me when he died but it is a first hand account of the war. The Coe ranch is still in Hondo Canyon in Lincoln Co.

billy the kid was a very mixed up boy after living in violence allthroughout his childhood until he met henry j tunstall he changed this man's life to the opposite of this then this man was shot down and this allowed the old billy to come back and the rest as you say is history.......but did billy die???? some say not. your choice of belief in this matter is your own.

Wikipedia, look at Henry McCarty, Billy the Kid or William H. Bonney. Hard enough to sort all that information and to know which story to believe after all those years gone by. I guess research like that can be a real headache. But it`s an interesting read.

it is said that garret waited for billy in a dark corner of the cabin where billy used to rest. when billy came in, his eyes not quite accustomed to the dim light in the cabin, garret just shot him and billy fell to the floor with a thud... yet it takes some nerve to kill 21 men, I mean, even if they were all involved killing billy`s scottish boss and friend...so you may call it revenge...imagine going up to 5 or 6 feet of each other and shooting at one another...sixguns were not accurate then
