The only reason I stick to wow is for it's story and art(ingame mainly). This just looks a bit to realistic for me, I like the cartoonish version wow has, it's prolly the only reason why I'll stick with WoW till it finally dies or I go to enjoy a different game. This just seems to 'realistic' in it's art. While it's fine for most people, I don't like. Can have the best game material but if it doesn't look good to me I prolly won't pick it up. @nomadnecroma there's 1 thing wrong with realistic art that people don't seem to understand, realistic art needs a lot of polish to be good.. oh, it can look real but if it has no polish or extra shit on the ground it will never feel real to the player.

that's why I for one think WoW has some of the best graphics any games have come to, those graphics defines the game and gives it a world of its own. but.. as much as I praise WoW right now, I also hate some of the cute shit in Cataclysm....

Not to mention the dungeons in RIFT (12 of them at the moment, I believe) are harder than the WoW beginning dungeons. Different mechanics too, unlike Wow who reuses them from dungeon to dungeon.

you realize that leveling 1-60 was alot longer than it is now... and leveling to level 50 on that game is alot shorter than 1-50 was on wow sooo ur a retard idlersme because i played during vanilla and it took me at least 3-5 months leveling to 60... because i was a slow leveler in that game it took people like 1-2 months that were slow levelers in wow to hit level 50... that took 3-5 months leveling to 60 like me and most of the people in wow that quit by the time wow is at now soooooooooo stfu

Graphics looks good, but battle looks bit boring - reminds me a bit of LOTRO fights, not as complex as Wow raiding, tho I understand this game is very new and WoW raids in the beginning weren't as complex as now. However, doesn't look like anyone took any damage in this raid, I don't know, healing this put one to sleep? I'm sure there is some challenge healing in it that I don't see. However, I've not tried this game, so it's simply a first impression, I'm sure it's a great game :)

@oOoIIoOo its still early game yet, early on in vanilla wow the boss fights were very simple, and got more complicated as blizzard got a better handle on raid mechanics, etc. They only became these complicated multi task fights in WotLK, where they lost a lot of difficulty due to the fact that they had to balance out the difficulty and the multitasking. WoW raiding is far from perfect, so far rift seems to have done a decent effort. Only time will tell I guess

@johnomonoia5 I'm satisfied with current WoW raid and heroic content. they were a blast to get into and work on. sure they're getting old, but I feel they are more difficult (for the time) than anything short of Sunwell which has been arguable the most difficult raid instance ever released. at the start, Cata heroics and raid bosses were more unforgiving than the Lich King fight. I do agree that Naxx was a walk in the park, ToC was lame, and BC was my favorite time of raiding.

However it was also Evolution, It took a basic concept of an MMO & turned it into something Wonderful & unique. With new content being re-explored & updated to unfold a storyline that eventually gets WoW players to The Emerald Dream Expansion in which will be either the next Xpac or one more.

@LilithImmacualte Rift has it's own Storyline. Rift has it's own Races and Factions, While we can still talk to both factions that's an awesome thing. Rift has harder dungeons in terms of being a new MMO and comparing it to the Cata Dungeons in WoW. (example lvl 18 dungeon is harder than a lvl 85 normal). Bottom line is this. Rift is Evolution, Rift is the "NEXT-GEN" MMO. Rift is Polished. Without a shadow of a doubt, Rift is better. btw.. I haven't been back to my WoW account since Rift Beta.

Other than that, I see Vanguard written all over this thing. It's brought up to date by copying much of the mechanics you see now in WoW, so I don't see what you're referring to in that respect either.

I want to like it, but it's got too many of the programming flaws seen early on with Vanguard. Then again, they are using the same programmers too.

@cgrigg75 I played RIFT so I guess that makes me just as qualified as anyone else here, right? I also played EQ but I don't see how RIFT resembles it. I'd say that yes, WoW copied a lot based off of EQ early on but after 6 years, survived mostly by taking it much farther on their own. However, I do think they screwed up on Cataclysm. The flaws I saw in RIFT are exactly what I saw in Vanguard's beta - coding problems they aren't going to admit. They didn't admit them in Vanguard either. cont'd.

@cgrigg75 Sony picked out something like an announced 1,200 coding errors from Vanguard in ONE day. Now you see the same problems (older cards running better fps than new, memory leaks, etc) but you have the same programmers working on Telon instead of Telara and not too far of a name change there either. The hacks also concern me but the fact that botting still exists in WoW unchecked probably concerns me even more, especially when both companies were offered fixes to the prob & refused it.

@mmogbytes Hackers and Leaks are everywhere. You're not going to gewt away from that. However since I've been playing There has been a significant decrease in all the GoldFarmers & Hacks. Most of the time Hackers are caused from Operator Malfunction. Meaning; It's you're own fault if you get hacked. You shouldn't be visiting sites that will have key-loggers. Bots are going to be around until they can come up with some more security. For now tho they have a Key-Lock, authenticator, & P/W feature.

@cgrigg75 Apparently you've forgotten Asheron's Call. Being an EQ player, I'm not surprised. Never the less, it did come out the same year as Everquest, and was probably the best MMO of all time. The dynamic of the current MMOs are cookie cutter and built for wide acceptance, and the Role Playing aspect of these games lacks because of it.
