At first I was really impressed with Dyer but after watching the UA All American game today I think he just doesn't fit Auburns offense. He would be better going to a school that runs the i formation because he is one of the worst pass blockers I have ever seen and he just does not have the speed to bounce it out side against D1 linebackers. Dyer will be a bust if he plays in the spread.

@KOARTISTCHRIS thats why AU uses multiple backs. Tate did have the speed to get to the outside and beat linebackers, but he could also take it up the middle along with Fannin. McCaleb was our speed guy (before he got hurt). You watch tape from LA Tech, MSU, and Ball State, not the best Ds in the country, but you get an idea about what McCaleb can do when he gets the corner. I think AU uses a lot of multiple-back sets and I think we'll see more reverses with the new RBs that were recruited.

d12basketball... mccaleb is fast as we saw in the season but he needs to gain wait if he wants to be starting... Also with our new offense i don't see us running dyer and mcCaleb or maybe dyer and fannin or eric because i dont see us putting in a runner who can hurt you with speed and can truck you then put in McCaleb who can only use his speed.... McCaleb will never be able to gain very much weight due to his frame. But personally i dont think thats a bad thing. If he gains weight he will lose some of his agility and quickness. Auburn already has the power back with Mario and Dyer and other backs coming up. McCaleb is the speed back that gives auburns team more diversity and will make them harder to stop

Mario Fannin can't hold on to the football and is about as poor of a blocker as you can be at running back. Onterrio McCalebb is a change of pace back. Dyer will have every chance to be a featured part of the offense as a freshman.

If you go to Auburn you won't be able to start until your senior year bc Onterio McCalebb is a freshmen and an amazing back. If you go to Ole Miss you have a good chance to start next year bc McCluster is leaving and Brandon Bolden is not good. If you want playing time all through college then go to Ole Miss

I am an Auburn fan and can tell you that unless McCalebb gains 20 pounds in the next couple of years, you'll be starting in 2011. Personally , i think Fannin should pickup Bent Tate's job. he is 225 pounds, faster than Tate, he is dynamic, he make plays, he plays with power. I love Fannin and believe that once he is given the opportunity to start he will tear it up. he will be considered a Heisman contender and the top RB NFL prospect. Maybe Dyer starts, if he does I hope he rapes. Remember, we are on the same side, the coaches know best, I will back up their decision come September.

Manik, I don't intend to offend you, but I've watched Fannin play for 3 years. I've seen him get numerous oportunities. I've seen him make some great plays. But I've seen him make a lot of bone head moves. Yeah he's stout, but he's not the rockstar you're imaging.

What countless opportunities. he barely played his first 2 seasons. This is his third season, he's playing utility guy, do it all position. he is averaging 8.5 yards per carry, that is spectacular. I know it may not be as good once he gets carries up the middle. If he can just learn to run more north and south and become a more savvy runner, he will be an household name.

Not entirely true. Auburn has always had multiple amazing backs and we rotate them around depending on the situation. Tate is a husky guy who can penetrate the line really well, were as McCaleb is a smaller and can run the outside real well. Depending on what sort of yardage we need, we use that player. Tate is graduating this year, so we'll need another thick back. We have a very delicate system we use for our backs. There's not one star.

Running back U has always and will always be Auburn, USC tried to make a push but between OJ and Reggie 1.5 wasn't enough to even begin to compare. I mean, Brandon Jacobs, the NY giants bell cow transferred from Auburn for his senior year because he was 3rd string behind caddy and ronnie. So, from Auburns 2004 undefeated season, technically there are 4 members of their offensive backfield starting in the NFL. Thats just one year.. don't make me bring BO into this lol
