One thing she failed to mention in this video is weight loss. The extra weight that female patient in the video is carrying is not doing her body any faovrs - from the diabetic risk to the unnecessary weight and pressure put on her joints and feet.
@piefrance Very true. I've noticed my need for foot attention and care has increased since I've gained weight. The pressure makes the calluses form quicker around the heel - at least on my feet.
Ugh. I just want my callus on the side of my third toe removed!!!! It's soo big and i have to wear one of my stupid gell things taped onto it... then again i do classical ballet too(: Pointework comes with a sacrafise!
@DancexLoverr I know what you mean. I'm a ballt dancer and I had a pair of pointe shoes that cut into the callus and made my toe bleed. But that as because the box was too narrow. Now I got a wider box.
i'm only 13 and have three caluses (two on my left foot and one on my right). but then again i do classical ballet and pointe, so that could be an issue
I haven't done anything yet but I do plan on going to the doc's to remove it, the only thing is that my feet are very sensitive so while he's doing his job I might kick him lol
@xINiiT12oGeINx see now im a hockey player, and idk if i have a wart or a callus, cut it out,and it had no black core to it,it feels great now that i cut it out.I switched to my coaches skates, and they were VERY awkward and hurt my feet.maybe got an IPK?i'm 16,and i had 1 callus on each foot, same place,he said one is a wart, and the other isn't,although they appeared the same time.MAKES NO SENSE
that's very true callus remover with salycilic acid really doesn't work. It will just keep coming back. Foot cream with urea really works.I used Dr. scholls foot moisturizers and the calluses i been treating for 3 months with callus remover were all gone in 2 weeks.
Sometimes corns arn't from bad hygiene, I know mine arn't because I have "thick skin" from just walking around, and the equivalent of hiking, around my area. ^.^; <3
it's very nice to have these instructive and informative videos on youtube, well done for the NHS. What surprises me is tto learn that there is a government paid service to clean off people's feet free of charge rather than sending them to a pedicure or having them to buy calluses removal tools themselves, which irritates me a bit as a taxpayer.
By the way: what is that "foot cream" treatment that sealed the patient's feet with plastic bags? What cream is used?
Why does that annoy you? That's what the NHS is for; they're paying taxes too and will be paying in part for any treatment you have for any other health problems.
i think it annoys him because he is having to pay for someones treatment when it is their own lack of hygiene that has caused the problem understandable, but unavoidable
Its not always caused by bad hygiene. I'm a football (soccer) player, and whenever its during season, I get pretty wicked calluses on the balls of my feet and side of my big toe. BUT once season is over and done with, slowly the calluses go away. Its just all the rubbing from running, ball dribbling, and people stepping on my feet that cause them.
Well people getting the treatment probably pay taxes too and it might not necessarily be caused by bad hygeine.
Dare I ask what you think of teenage mothers who deliberately want to live of the state and get thousands of pounds of medical care free when they'll never pay it back.

For a painful corn I`d think her slicing away with that razor sharp knife & little spinning shaving device would be torture.
