  • is it just me or does the riff sound quite a bit like Clapton's "Cocaine" which he released the following year. This is miles better, in any case!

  • when white people were allowed to have pride in their race, when music was music right on

  • Sweet! I am glad there are new postings. I love turning peple on to Tomm Bolin. TB fans know what i'm talking about. by the way i dont need to find this jam on YT. I ALWAYS have a copy. but i get off to yt because i've run down many a jam that i wouldnt have found otherwise.

  • I saw him with the James Gang in the 70's and was blown away !!!!! Probably THE best guitarist I've ever seen

  • A Colorado native???

  • Why 0 dislikes? Oh this is really fucking good, that's why!!!

  • Had this on vinyl back in the day. You know how someone just pops into your mind out of nowhere? Thinking of Tommy Bolin tonight. Good to hear this again. Thanks for posting it.

  • sounds as fresh as ever...the whole album in fact is full of some pretty smooth jams with great guitar work

  • Good Sound & Thank You :) QC

  • Sunshine of your love by Cream

    is the same !!!!

  • I love Bolin but the main riff is lame.

  • This song takes me back to some of the best times in my life!!! Just can't hear it enough! Rest in peace Tommy!

  • @johnmoorefield76 Well said ,can't even compare today's crap with this.

  • Where can I buy a Tommy Bolin T-Shirt? Each time I hear this I wanna hear it again and again and again and again.

  • @europica get a good computer program, and you can make the transfers of your choice to make T Shirts

  • @europica ...I can get you one for 16.00

  • vinyl, 8-track, casette, cd, cd-r, mp3, youtube...this album is ALWAYS in my collection. ..and it is as fresh now as it has ever been. this is a 5-star rock song and a classic album.

  • @Skyuss666 - I'm glad there's some other kids in my generation who agree. But there's also some good things going on in less mainstream contemporary music. Just listen to the Black Keys, Radio Moscow, and most of Jack White's stuff (like with the Dead Weather). The golden age of music is gone, but there's still some out there that desperately try to keep the flame burning.

  • This is one of those songs that was born on vinyl as if it were a magic carpet ride.

  • Met a guy at College yrs back that got me into Tommy Bolin. This has one of my favourite guitar solo's of all time. The sound is amazing and its just a great song.

  • All the comments that can be said about TB have been said. The result is that the man put out two great solo albums. His legacy will live on.

RIP TB and mucho thanks to you for posting a classic!! This jam needs to heard!!

  • @allenbluzmanhaynes he's also on a studio and a few live releases with Deep Purple, two with the James gang, one with Billy Cobham, Zephyr, Energy, Alphonzo Mouson, Moxy... and even two rehearsal jam double CDs from the Deep Purple era. (Days May Come and Days May Go (The California Rehearsals and 1420 Beachwood Drive (The California Rehearsals)

All this before dying at the age of 25. what a waste.

  • @allenbluzmanhaynes The man is a legend! Was, is, & is to come!

  • When I was playing lead I took a LOT of cues from Tommy Bolin. I learned the first solo off this song note-for-note, lick-for-lick

    ...brings back the memories

  • KLASSIX NEVER DIE

  • Before he went on to DP fame he did two of his own. Great Great work Tommy!!!!!! YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!!!!

    ULTRA BADASS!!

  • Thanks for this, Tommy Bolin played some badass guitar. I used to have the LP, lost it, been looking for this tune for a long time. Those of you looking for some more blues based guitarists with crazy chops, Paul Kossoff was another real talented guitarist taken away too young by dope. 'Tuesday Morning' off his solo album 'Back Street Crawler' has some of the most incendiary riffing I have ever heard.

  • To my extreme shame 55 and never heard of him till tonight Wow what a wasted talent!!!!!

  • Brilliant it is such a pity this is the last song he ever played!!!!

  • great song. sad thing is he did toast his mind with drugs. i saw him in concert 3 months before he died and he was way spaced out.

  • @bigkittysmile It's really a shame no one grabbed him and put him in rehab... what a waste.

  • @brendandawna it dont work like that

  • @bigkittysmile Since when are you the expert on what constitutes a visual display of intoxication?

bearer of the bad, your a waste

  • @bigkittysmile Since when are you the expert on what constitutes a visual display of intoxication?

Bearer of the bad.. your a waste

  • @Madalynn777 it was obvious. he was well known for doing drugs. that's how he died. get a life u troll.

  • What a great guitarist/songwriter, besides his solo stuff, check out Tommy Bolin with Deep Purple (with David Coverdale on vocals) also his stuff with Billy Cobham's Spectrum albums.R.I.P. Tommy..He inspires my playing (on You Tube, guitarist Jeff Summertime Summers)....

  • thanks so much for uploading this monster rock tune! it takes me back to a great time and place...

  • Very good stuff with feeling here... I dig it fully... Bolin is on here, despite being totally lit... Cheerio....

    MR.BILL

  • @misterbill18 I was reading a number of things today. As yet I'm not sure anyone quite knows what "demons" he was battling. Pity we lost him though.

  • This song brings back memories of houston tx (1977) IT WAS A BLAST! It was a shame to see someone so talented to waste away on a overdose. I will always listen to his music and think back on my past...........

  • This is so good it gives me chills.

  • Saw him in the early '70s with James gang, opened for ELP and Skynard ...what a day

  • Yes they don't write them like this anymore!

  • @MrRebelyell83 I imagine they do (at least I tell myself they do), but there isn't the medium to hear them comparable to 70s FM radio.

  • Vinyl is final! Nothing is like the platter! I crank this up and scare the neighbors into the hidey holes and just grin. Thank you Tommy...too soon at 25...my youngest kids are older than you now, and I weep for the lost songs that we have never heard.

  • I have the vinyl of this STILL! Purchased as a new release (I am 54), and when I feel down it comes out, I could play it on my PC , but the turntable makes it feel so much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rock On Tommy!!

  • @ChuckyCheeze56

    Must be played LOUD

  • @ChuckyCheeze56 Right On Chucky Cheeze the vinyl is the best, that sound is sooooooooooo Coooooooool

  • Lay it out, Tommy.

  • great song.

  • Im sure that Tommy Vance used a snippit of this as a backing track on his Friday Night Rock show in the UK

  • great music.

  • when I need rock, real rock, here it is.

  • @scrumpies01 Yes, you have real rock, but a piece of jazz too...

  • have not heard this for...???...30yrs?

  • @WELLBRAN no more like 40yrs!!...jeez!

  • Corn fed Iowa boy eats his Post Toasties and lets 'er rip.

  • @jeffthepoet ...THATS RIGHT.. Corn field mafia.... me too, and ended up in Colorado like tommy.

  • i think tommy bolin was won of the greatest composers of my generation, my favorite being FRANK ZAPPA

  • Better quality :)
