That's interesting---typing emails and saying things with communication--It's like I had this cousin who I hadn't seen in about 10 years...We got in tocuh and she was moving my way..We had everything planned...I go see her....and nothing was done except coffee....no shopping,no NOTHING...she has moved again and we spoke once in a year....So i do see that typing/writing things and then meeting is way off...GOOD POINT!!!
Wow! This is something VERY interesting! I am indeed mostly bolder when I'm writing an e-mail or responding to a video. Allthough I remain "being myself". In person I become...uhm...less bold(?). But I could get kinda cocky after a while, perhaps...depending on the person...
@TzeffNL I think many people are more bold behind the mouse/keyboard... I think in person you have to be comfortable to be your true, true self. Thanks for sharin!
yes i am, there is no logic in trying to project falsity, what i said to you about your singing was from the heart. i choose to write what i feel, some people are in fear of not being liked for their true selves so, they put up a projection in their minds of what they think they a person wats to hear, i will all ways tell you how i feel, feeling is your highest truth right?
@freestyle5504 I think it's great you speak from the heart. Many people are wary of doing that these days. I do agree with what you say about people projecting what it is they want! Thanks for sharing your heart and thots! Nat
@SonnyTheWhiteDwarf It seems 2 be really easy to put your best foot forward in an email/IM/Tweet/etc. In person however, it's hard to disguise ur true nature when other things come in2 play, e.g. facial expressions, body language, choice of words, gestures etc. That seems 2 b where ones true nature is revealed, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Specifically... long story, short a couple of the musicians who seemed really nice in email were actually rather obnoxious in person :(

Yup, yup. I agree, Ms. Nat. Yes I most certainly enjoyed dat topic indeed. Keep coming with 'em because you're definitely on point with them. Nah mean? You was inhaling da Chronic smoke huh? LOL!! Natalie, I always speak the same in my email communiques as I do in person. I'm from the South, but I now live in the Midwest (On Lake Superior!). I've been told in emails, in person, etc. that I still come across as a proper Southern gentleman. That just makes me feel like I have an excellent command of the English language, as well as being raised properly. (Having a long heritage from the UK doesn't hurt either!)
@Actionguy1 That's awesome that you mainain a standard of persona in all communication. Def. having UK heritage helps (high five! my parents are British!). C ya!

I think sometimes when we dont know a person's voice and persona, we project our own voice and inflections into their words when we read what they type. That could be one reason that their vibe was totally different when you meet them.
It's kinda disconcerting when you have a certain picture of someone in your mind and then you meet and it's nothing like you thought right?
@ShannonDeeMusic Hi luv! OMG no kidding... there still might be a song about Pot one day. Yeah it's so funny u say that about the pix. The written word for some touches far more deeper then the spoken word, it depends on how meaningful a writer you are or how meaningful a reader that responds it, the only thing certain is we connect regardless in our chosen state of fluency where spoken and written word pass consciously perfectly togeather to create the effective spark needed.
@Vincent777Legion1 I think this is certainly true for some. Being a writer myself, I find it MUCH easier to express myself through my poems, songs, letters even than I can in person sometimes. Are you a writer also Vincent?
@nataliemedia I don't know yet LOL I don't think I can sit still that long, I'm hardly an excitable chap but it's a lot of sitting around isn't it?
I do have quite a lot of work compiled over the last three years that covers sort of every kind of release from poetry to novels, comedy, the odd song, scripts, plays ..... I just consider myself an ideas man who is far from polished.
Have you released much of your work ? If so I would purchase your poetry for sure, got love for my poets.
@Vincent777Legion1 Well some of it is sitting... weirdly enough I do a lot of pacing when I write songs! LOL Sounds like you have been a very busy writer!
As for my poetry, none is officially released. As far as music, lots of it has been released. One day I might get brave enough to publish my poems, but for now I will keep them in my secret place!
@nataliemedia hey I am the same with my poetry, I call my poems my babies and i want to keep them as long as I can ... an innocence kind of thing I suppose but I'm glad your going to gamble your presence one day .... Don't worry about the cynics :)
Yes I walk around too ... silently reciting over the park lol or to my pets LOL
I Have slowed in pace lately I was kind of 24/7 at one point, when you open up I don't think you can help but take dictation! talk about burn out.
@nataliemedia I don't think your as bad as me, sometimes I get the local park keeper to give me his views LOL I'm always trying to covert people to poetry to get in touch with themselves ...... Imagine a world of poets, slightly mad but very much awake!
Observation: meeting online lets people share their "true inner selves" in some ways *better* than meeting in person (with less first-impressions based on physical appearance, race, gender, age, etc.). It's more than "meeting people with common interests"--it's really connecting with people, yet with less face-to-face "risk." That realization blows away those who say you can't "really" get to know people online.
@DoRayMeFa I guess as much as you can be your true inner self, some people develop online alter-ego personalities. I have seen this more than once actually! I really don't believe you BTW that you are not the suave secret agent/astronaut that I know you to be online... just don't beleive it! LOL Have a happy week!
Of the people I've met in person whom I FIRST met online, there was a completely smooth transition--they're the same people. But I hope no one discovers I'm not actually the suave and sophisticated secret agent / astronaut that I am able to portray online!
.
Actually, communicating online lets people take longer to think before they "speak" and they can "compose" our images better. But over time, people get to know each other online in much the same way as in person.
@DoRayMeFa True, as time goes by, even on the internet you show who you really are. and yes you compose your image better.
In here i am not exactly as i am in real life. i wouldnt comment the same way as in real world. I am more edgy outside than on the internet. When im face to face with someone i risk it and pass what others would call limits. but then again communication is more complete outside. its the eyes, your energy as a person, the way you say something. im not as fun in here!
@DoRayMeFa It's so interesting Ray cuz for me usually it's the same thing. The people I met online were pretty much bang on the same person in real life... that's why this one threw me for a loop! I love communicating online and via email because I can formulate ideas better when I write... sometimes I don't think before I speak in person (foot in mouth... OUCH). But my basic character is the same online as offline, maybe slightly shyer offline sometimes.
@nataliemedia That's very easy to answer, in NYC u get back what u give, pleasant, true, intellectual, sweet, just love in general, but if u put , vulgarity, hate, liar,s all around hate issues, u get it back and banned from my space.. Ur going to run into belligerent obnoxious ppl who bring out what ever so yes i can get ghetto and I can be very conservative, Real life very quit and peaceful and really nobody brings a bad side out of u bc they r real. And I would walk away..
Nat!!! I really try to write as I speak...but a BIZARRE thing happened the other day... I saw a friend who had "defriended" me from FB. I had a lovely chat to her and then made a joke about it and she said she took me off her FB because I used too many EXCLAMATION MARKS and CAPITAL LETTERS!!! She said she liked the "real" me more...i personally don't think i am any different-I have always written like this!!! LOL xxxxxx
@jewelchic OMG I can't beleive she said that. Doesn't she know that Exclamation marks and Capital letters are a sign of ENTHUSIASM online! LOL Oh well, whatevs.. I luvs ya caps, exclamation marks and ALL! MUAH

I'm sure glad your vblog wasn't too long then...or else you might have started staring in space wondering where you are and saying 'duuude' alot. lol!

I feel that I'm the same person as I am in comments!!!
I completely feel you, Iman and I meet a lot of online people and sometimes we look at each other and we're like WOW, so didn't expect that person to act that way. It's too funny. You really never know what to expect hehe
@lisalavie1 I think you would be also! It is pretty crazy how the flip can happen. I wonder why people would change their persona online or in emails/texts tho? It doesn't make sense. Or maybe they just get shy in person and clam up. It's really interesting and you are so right, you never know what to expect! Thanks for watching. Have a fab week! :)
I've missed you and these blogs. Sorry, the meeting with the potential band person ddin't go well. I try to be the same when I type online as in person. I feel I am.
@Light2guideyou Awe!! Thanks for missing me. Last week just ended up crazy and I wasn't able to get to the vlog. I think till the DVD is done it might be crazy-ness. But I will do them as I can. Yeah I was disappointed that it wasn't the fit I was looking for, but it's OK... I'll find the right people in the end. I'm glad you try to be the same person. I think it's best to be who you really are all the time. Have a beautiful week!
@nataliemedia You're welcome. I can only imagine. I say it was very disappointing. You'll find the right fit. I do try to be the same person. I see no need not to be. Thanks. Hope you have a beautiful week too!
I am definitely the same person in e-mail as I am to meet in person. However that is not always the case with everyone. I have met people in person and they are completely different than our communication with e-mail. By the way, I smell pot every day when I work in the park in town, lol
@BananaJSSI That's cool that you are. I guess for some reason it's a surprise when someone I speak with on email is totally different in person! It's weird how some people can be the same and others totally opposite. It was crazy in the park that day with the pot! LOL LOL What do you do at the park? I love parks, they rock! Thanks for watching :)
@nataliemedia I work for the Parks Dept. so I maintain the Parks on our small island. We have 61 parks here and in Centennial Park in our main town you can see or smell someone toking up any given day. Last week we found another bag of pot. I also fin lots of pot pipes too, lol. Great vid you made.
@BananaJSSI Oh wow, that's a lot of parks to maintain. Good for you tho, sounds like a great job (except the pot and pipe picking up of course... wow say that 20 times fast!). Glad u enjoyed it :)
@nataliemedia Most of the other parks here are heavily forested and consist of nature trail. As much as I'm not a pot smoker, I must say it's the pot heads in the park that never give us any trouble. It's the boozers I always cause problems, swearing getting rowdy and making a mess. I'll try that saying that tongue twister a few times, lol
@BananaJSSI I see where you live now!! I'm from the Mainland... but used to go to SSI all the time. Love it there. Loved watching movies at the church.. I forget what road it is on. You live in a very beautiful place. Gotta get back there sometime. Interesting that the post smokers are mellow and the boozers are not...
@nataliemedia Right on! You are referring to Central Hall where Salt Spring Cinema is. My wife is the longest running employee at the Cinema. She has worked there going on 18 years now. It was used as a church for a short period, but that was years ago. Central Hall is located on the North End Rd. and the intersection across from Portlock Park. I'm sure I have many videos of the Cinema inside and out. My other channel is BJ616. You should visit again soon.
