That's interesting---typing emails and saying things with communication--It's like I had this cousin who I hadn't seen in about 10 years...We got in tocuh and she was moving my way..We had everything planned...I go see her....and nothing was done except coffee....no shopping,no NOTHING...she has moved again and we spoke once in a year....So i do see that typing/writing things and then meeting is way off...GOOD POINT!!!

Wow! This is something VERY interesting! I am indeed mostly bolder when I'm writing an e-mail or responding to a video. Allthough I remain "being myself". In person I become...uhm...less bold(?). But I could get kinda cocky after a while, perhaps...depending on the person...

yes i am, there is no logic in trying to project falsity, what i said to you about your singing was from the heart. i choose to write what i feel,some people are in fear of not being liked for their true selves so, they put up a projection in their minds of what they think they a person wats to hear, i will all ways tell you how i feel, feeling is your highest truth right?

@SonnyTheWhiteDwarf It seems 2 be really easy to put your best foot forward in an email/IM/Tweet/etc. In person however, it's hard to disguise ur true nature when other things come in2 play, e.g. facial expressions, body language, choice of words, gestures etc. That seems 2 b where ones true nature is revealed, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Specifically... long story, short a couple of the musicians who seemed really nice in email were actually rather obnoxious in person :(

Natalie, I always speak the same in my email communiques as I do in person. I'm from the South, but I now live in the Midwest (On Lake Superior!). I've been told in emails, in person, etc. that I still come across as a proper Southern gentleman. That just makes me feel like I have an excellent command of the English language, as well as being raised properly. (Having a long heritage from the UK doesn't hurt either!)

I think sometimes when we dont know a person's voice and persona, we project our own voice and inflections into their words when we read what they type. That could be one reason that their vibe was totally different when you meet them.

It's kinda disconcerting when you have a certain picture of someone in your mind and then you meet and it's nothing like you thought right?

I do have quite a lot of work compiled over the last three years that covers sort of every kind of release from poetry to novels,comedy, the odd song, scripts, plays ..... I just consider myself an ideas man who is far from polished.

Have you released much of your work ? If so I would purchase your poetry for sure, got love for my poets.

As for my poetry, none is officially released. As far as music, lots of it has been released. One day I might get brave enough to publish my poems, but for now I will keep them in my secret place!

Of the people I've met in person whom I FIRST met online, there was a completely smooth transition--they're the same people. But I hope no one discovers I'm not actually the suave and sophisticated secret agent / astronaut that I am able to portray online!

Actually, communicating online lets people take longer to think before they "speak" and they can "compose" our images better. But over time, people get to know each other online in much the same way as in person.

In here i am not exactly as i am in real life. i wouldnt comment the same way as in real world. I am more edgy outside than on the internet. When im face to face with someone i risk it and pass what others would call limits. but then again communication is more complete outside. its the eyes, your energy as a person, the way you say something. im not as fun in here!

@DoRayMeFa It's so interesting Ray cuz for me usually it's the same thing. The people I met online were pretty much bang on the same person in real life... that's why this one threw me for a loop! I love communicating online and via email because I can formulate ideas better when I write... sometimes I don't think before I speak in person (foot in mouth... OUCH). But my basic character is the same online as offline, maybe slightly shyer offline sometimes.

I normally write how i talk, so it represents me as close as it can get in written words. Many people mold their emails or conversations for perfection online, different than chatting directly. Misunderstandings and misconception are normal, as the most important thing is missing, facial expression and tonal change. Cheers Alexander

I am definitely the same person in e-mail as I am to meet in person. However that is not always the case with everyone. I have met people in person and they are completely different than our communication with e-mail. By the way, I smell pot every day when I work in the park in town, lol

@nataliemedia I work for the Parks Dept. so I maintain the Parks on our small island. We have 61 parks here and in Centennial Park in our main town you can see or smell someone toking up any given day. Last week we found another bag of pot. I also fin lots of pot pipes too, lol. @nataliemedia Most of the other parks here are heavily forested and consist of nature trail. As much as I'm not a pot smoker, I must say it's the pot heads in the park that never give us any trouble. @nataliemedia Right on! You are referring to Central Hall where Salt Spring Cinema is. My wife is the longest running employee at the Cinema. She has worked there going on 18 years now. It was used as a church for a short period, but that was years ago. Central Hall is located on the North End Rd. and the intersection across from Portlock Park. I'm sure I have many videos of the Cinema inside and out. My other channel is BJ616. You should visit again soon.
