  • 0-100 ?????

  • I wish more cars required dressing up in order to drive.

  • Interesting...

  • song from soozis

  • That thing runs better that most cars we have today

  • Imagine cars in 200 years? Year 2212 lol

  • @EmilDrumAndBass

In the year 2025, mens will not be alivez.

  • Fucking assholes all of them. He's a moron, he thinks he's something great, and this page captures the browser and won't let it back out.

    Pond scum.

  • No airbag?

  • @ewd76 the driver of this car is the airbag

  • What an asshole! He does not deserve the right to drive such an important piece of history. His trash talk is very unproffesional and I am ashamed to come from the same country as him.

  • lol his first car was so good it was still running after 100 years

  • A good kick to Jeep (the horse) there. And the "dude" (a man who can't ride a horse) is so awesome in his korrekt costume !

  • american retard presenter is missing the point

it's the first car in the world. why was the cameraman not filming the car instead of the joker, and why didn't he give further info on the car rather then talk about his self.

  • can't see abs system or airbags?

  • really dan neil

  • tractors on farms were the first cars made in the USA.1860's.

  • he seemed genuinely concerned about that thing exploding, that makes it more awesome

  • great now i can get home drunk without falling off my horse

  • Remember dont break the speed limit!

  • it didnt seem smokey or anything its probably less of an environmental disaster than big block.

  • This is an environmental disaster, BUT IT'S FUN!

  • i thought ford was the first car, (told to me by my friend) but i guess he lied? idk

  • @amcheung10 Ford was the first car that was cheaply produced, so before then, owning a car would be equivilant to owning a private jet today.

  • funny cause if our v8 explode evan a honda inline 4 its still a hazard

  • who ever made this was too lazy to walk

  • @WarrenKeingGaw And look around a rough 100 years later: everybody is.

  • @JoeyBelgier yea but you can't walk from California to Las Vegas....

I mean that dam rumble seat was probably made to pick milk around the corner

  • @WarrenKeingGaw Back then people didn't have to travel dozens of miles to get to their jobs either, and they'd use ye ol' steamer to travel further distances :P

  • @WarrenKeingGaw I get what you mean, but just wanted to say that this one triggered the way we live in the present.

  • They see me Rollin, they hatin

  • imagine one of those in grand theft auto

  • Benz & Cie M A N N H E I M ,nicht Daimler,nicht Stuttgart erstes AUTO kommt aus MANNHEIM,basta

  • Who the hell cares about the "hydrocarbons" when you're driving a relic of one of the most important turning points in history?

  • everyone is soo worried about the enviroment, well how about all the polution from all the factories all over the country? too little too late, now everything is a BIG EMERGENCY.

  • Neat car, but the guy reviewing it lacks knowledge.

  • do a burnout

  • top speed 19mph

  • hahahahatop speed 19mph

  • hahahaha

  • i think if i walked instead of using that car i would have made it to places much faster

  • i think they only made one of these

  • Does it have blue toof???

  • This guy is an idiot!!!

  • better off walking

  • die welt geneist an deutcher geist

  • I'm gonna drive on eto school I just hope it makes it up the hill and fucken hydro carbons shit I have my damn 68 mustang running right now for no reason I just like the sound

  • environmental disaster? it "only" needed about 10L per 100km (23.5 MPG) and about 100 liter water per 100km for cooling.

even today you can still see many cars on the road which have equal or even worse gas milage :/

  • @purpleGoAhead But to be fair, the cars today have many features that make sure gasoline is broken down into less harmful substances.

  • I see it has something in common with most of the modern lawn tractors and push lawn mowers,,,,,,,, A vertical shaft 1 cylnder engine!!!

  • Cool! Three wheelers are coming back now, but 2 wheel in front and mostly a lot of more efficient...

  • Cars? Those things will never catch on.

  • driving bench

  • how fast can it go?

  • It doesn't beat the horse by much, horses were more reliable than this toy. There were several cars produced before the model, all of were pretty much seen as toys for rich people that had mechanics on standby. Ford made it all happen by producing the first serious vehicle.

  • Whats worse, the exhaust from the Benz, or the methane and "solid matter" from a horse ?

  • best car in Gran Turismo!

  • henry ford made the 1st car? no?

  • @CCSinventions

He didn't even make the first American car.

Listen, Ford was founded in 1903. By that time there even were auto races all over the world. Land speed records with cars had already started in 1898 with a Belgian guy driving his electically powered car to 60mph (100km/h).

Although there is some evidence of other internal combustion engined cars being made before Daimler and Benz's car in 1886, that one was actually offered for sale for people wanting to buy it. A new product.

  • Not as reliable as a horse.

  • @TheNineveh there is no horse from 1886 which still "works" :D

  • @456asd654 lol I guess not.

  • its beatiful ...!

  • ITS NOT STREET LEGAL! NO LIGHTS!

  • Mechanic marvels....just cant get enough :D

  • im 13 an i could try to drive it

  • @Jaycee991 lol TRY

  • If he wanted to look and feel like the 1890s, why does he wear the modern sun glasses? lol

  • im not going to lie that looks like alot of fun lol

  • if the orginal did exist it will be worth a fortune now

  • Why isn't this on Red Dead Redemption

  • @IsaiahWare because they had more modern vehicles at the time of red dead redemption. it takes place in 1910 and back then you were considered very wealthy if you could afford a car

  • he sounds very nervous

  • That was a cool perspective on how it ran.

  • most people think ford built the first car but they are wrong

  • @smartcenterJax

most people don't know jack shit, and base most of their opinon from Hollywood movies. This is why they think a car will explode in a collision, somebody getting kicked in their face will be just fine and arabs are all just dumb terrorists. Among other things.

  • it depends what your definition of a car is

how many of these did karl benz make ...2?

i define a a car as something that is sold to the public.

in whitch the first car was somewhere around 1900 when they started appearing.

automated modes of transport go as far back as 1750.

up untill 1900 only a few were ever made even fewer were sold.

and dont give my that hydrocarbon shit

my lawnmower puts out at least 100 times that per second since this thing is running at like 50 RPM

  • the start of global warming.

  • @wiwn00 i'm almost positive global warming has existed since the first human ever farted....

  • Awesome!!

  • Oh bitch, bitch, bitch, the hydrocarbons. For God's sake it's a teakettle and an oil lamp with a flywheel, I'm sure your average SUV puts out more pollution in a year than that thing could in a century... Still neat though, I like the idea of a "motorized park bench."

  • In actuality, there were steam cars in the 1840s, the 1886 Merc gets the title because it was the first GASOLINE engine car (Which became the standard, as we all know)

  • its a environmental disaster..jajajajaja

  • @rabia413 the "environmental disaster" is the capitalism and the mass society slave of economy, the environmental disaster is not this single product ,a toy for lucky few,but the mass production & diffusion of it.

  • fantastic

  • Original one would be in a museum in Germany, if it did still exist!

  • put a 4 rotor in it xD

  • No Originals exist because the following year they all put these nasty- ass big exhaust tips on them, and were beaten senseless.

  • Hydrocarbons be damned. I would give all I have to own a Motorwagen.

  • 18 km/h xD

  • The First Mercedes-Benz is in Gran Turismo 4! XD

  • Cool video, the beginning of an era. To bad they had to include the social engineering of neo pagan earth worship with it. But hey that's Hollywood.

  • This is Very Good.

    Five Star for this Video.

  • thats a V1 and would have around 3hp

  • V1 ??? AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAAHHA xDDD

  • @fabricekanda:

shut up, it's the world's first gas engined car.

they didn't think of emissions in that time.

    nice video, nice "car", 5/5

  • thats where to go it gives you 202 MPG on speed of 8MPH

  • That's actually funny because usually cars from the pre 40's era get better millage than today's cars. The ford model T got 72 Miles per gallon. That beats some of today's hybrids.

  • That is Total BS! 25mpg on an open road, with the mixture knob adjusted properly!

  • lol, did he hit something on the road at 0:53 ?

  • Amazing, funny to compare that to a 500SL now! lol

  • NO orginals exist, that is a COPY.

  • there use to be one from my understanding.

  • There is an original I am bout to go Take it to a Mercedes Benz Dealer In Dallas to be show cased.

  • @380Banshee no originals exist?!?!?!?!

  • @380Banshee The original lives in Munich, Germany and still runs.

  • @380Banshee original does exist is mercedes museum

  • @380Banshee who said it is original

  • @380Banshee ummm yeah there are lol i'v seen one in a museum and it was the real deal

  • @380Banshee ONE original exists, THE ONE IN THE VIDEO IS A COPY

  • @380Banshee it actually is, i saw one in california in a museum

  • @380Banshee

There is one existing in the munich technical museum

  • @380Banshee actually mercedes-benz has the only one left in existence

  • i guess this car got great handling

  • MY DREAM CAR!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder what the milage on it is..

  • like 1/2mil tank full and like maybe 20mils per hour

  • top speed 10 mph

  • @ChevysphinX Unless going down a hill.

  • @ChevysphinX no its 10000000000000000000000000000000000 mph

  • the tag on the car said serial number 003 so, i'm guessing that it is the 3rd one built, but still an early model

  • It is the 3rd oneof the copies made.

There is no original one remaining

  • what is the 0-60 time??? hahahah lol

  • lmao, about never until u fall off a cliff

  • 3 days when your downhill in a hurricane :)

  • more like 0-5 in about 5 minutes

  • the stopwatch is still running :) 123 years and counting...

  • lol doesn't get to 60mph xD

  • Never.

  • i wonder if you need a license to drive it

  • Geez! Hydrocarbons! What do you call 100,000 environmentalist at the bottom of the ocean? A good start!

  • Does the first one even exsist anymore? or is it at a museum?

  • the one hes driving is the original

  • It is a replica

there is no origal one left

  • The original is in a German museum. They start it and let it run but I don't think they ever drive it.

  • There is no original left.

    It are all replicas

  • good question

  • booring guy

  • It's the fist model ever sold (in 1888). I found this detail important because there has been many cars before it but not sold (just prototypes and test engines).

  • ptupptupptupptupptup...

  • I posted something else that was more volatile, so I removed it. What I should have said was, "once again, with your liberal antics, you have ruined something that truly should have been regarded as a privilege." If it's such an environmental disaster, why the heck are you driving it?

  • Take it on the freeway!

  • Comment removed

  • The first self-propelled vehicle was Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot's fardier à vapeur. The only reason most consider the Motorwagen the first automobile is because it was the first designed to be propelled by a motor (while a fardier would normally be pulled by horse). Being named the first self-propelled vehicle is a much more significant term than first automobile, IMO.

  • wow the SOUND! amazing thing, and definitively the coolest car ever built.

My guess is this one is a replica, there were several built some years ago.

  • I agree it must be a reproduction. as that flywheel looks to be way newer than the early 1880's. I owned a couple early 2 cycle engines and they weren't this quiet at all

  • that might be the 10th car in the history of the automobile.its just like history books stressing that geroge washington was the first president.well he was actuly second.see how many retards come up acting like internet tough guys but there really pussys.

  • were was it made?

  • Germany .

  • Yeah, only californians would worry about the air pollution, im surprised they even let it run. Dumbass

  • what is the max speed of this car????

  • I think it was 10 or 11 mph

  • 12 mph on 0.75 hp they run on floor cleaner as petrol is too volatile!

  • until it explodes.... hey uh.. if the car still hasent exploded in the last 122 years than im sure it wont now...... dumbass

  • oh lord wont u buy me ay mercedes banz?

did anyone race this threewheeler against 1896 ford quadricycle?

  • Wow, the car still solid.

  • Just to eradicate all the misinformation;

Daimler and Benz were two separate companies until 1926. Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (DMG), founded by Gottleib Daimler, and Benz & Company Rheinische Gasmotoren-Fabrik (Benz & CIE), founded by Karl Benz and Wilhelm Maybach (yes, that Maybach). Neither were part of the other until then, when the Daimler-Benz Automotive Group was formed. This lasted until the 2000 merger of Chrysler Motors and D-B. Cont...

  • Mercedes-Benz is only a brand name, used to represent Daimler-Benz Automotive Group in an effort to avoid confusion and legal issues. When Gottleib Daimler died in 1900, his name was sold for use by other companies.

The name Mercedes was originally applied to an engine built in 1900, later the race car and production car (Mercedes 35hp), by DMG, honoring the man who took Daimler's place following his death; Emil Jellinek. Jellinek's daughter was named Mercedes.

  • We are at a time in history 100 years down the track where the excitement of Karl Benz, Henry Ford and his Motor Car, Alexander Graham Bell, Guglielmo Marconi, Thomas Edison and his wonderful inventions & others that paved the development of the 20th Century has been reinstalled into the hearts and minds of those engaged in the development of technology passing into the 21st Century.

  • Dan You Look Like Stan Laurel From Laurel And Hardy And no affiance im just saying .

  • now, why would it explode??? i am 100% sure it is well designed,....

  • no Mercedes-Benz wernt developed yet but before that it was called daimler benz

  • It wasn't a Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz wasn't founded until 1929.

  • ware can i find one for sale i want a 1886 Benz .

  • unless you have half a million u won't, but there is a company that makes reproductions for £50,000 i dont know where

  • oh okay .

  • lol everything is going according to plans untill it explodes.

  • awesome!!!!

  • four stroke engine was invented by Nikolaus August Otto in the early 1870's

The Battery (non rechargeable) was invented by Alessandro Volta 1800! Even before Benz built his car, a scottish engineer assambled an electric car (Robert Anderson 1839)

  • Worty, where did you get your informations from? You can't use an alternator to load a Battery, because Batteries can't be loaded at anyhow! They generate electricity by a chemical process! I guess you mean rechargeable batteries (Accumulator). The Frame was made (german wiki and books told me so) from welded steel pipes (like Bicicles).

  • wow some people are dumb, this was a TWO STROKE

four strokes werent even invented until the 70s i think, and electricity was discovered, but they didnt have batteries or an alternator to put it into use in a car. The frame was also most likely iron. Do your research before posting

  • This is not the first Mercedes-Benz. This is a Benz, built by the Benz company. The first Mercedes-Benzes weren't manufactured until after the merger of the Daimler and Benz companies in 1926.

  • And even then, the cars werent called mercedes-benz,but only mercedes.Benz cars were available simultaneously, after a later merge the cars were named mercedes-benz,like today.
