  • answering to africanqueen552: there're more than 500 languages and dialects in africa. Who should translate for your sake? A lot of congolese (zairean) write their own lyrics in their native tongue, so if you need a thourough translation, feel free to ask. i'll recommend u start learning lingala, it's a beautiful language. Thank u for appreciating this nation's music. Peace and love.

  • I miss this songs in the 80s they used to be on Radio all the time

  • During the cival in uganda this song was used as a mediator between the ugandan military government ''Tito Okello Lutwa and the then rebel leader museveni ''NRA'' which were held in Nairobi museveni the rebell leader ended up refusing talking peace and he fought and took the power up to date!.

  • Sometime I don't even know what's wrong with Zaire singers I don't know why they don't write their lyrics so we can know how the songs go. Why do we have to go and figure out for ourselves? That is just crap.

  • Where u have like ........? I think the lyrics are : YE AYELAKE MAPASA / HE CAME FOR THE TWINS

  • "Harambee"

Besos

  • Mbila Mbel you should do another swahili song or preferably and album. You still command a sea of funs.

  • She said Arambe, Arambe, I think people from kenya knows what it means...Arambeee Eee

  • @camill54 ..it means together as one

  • @camill54, ITS Harambee! to be precise(its a Kenyan slogan meaning come together for a common good).Mostly it may be used to refer to fund raising but not this particular case(she used it to refer to an era of the then president (Nyayo)Daniel Toroitich. He used the slogan to charge the crowds in his era.

  • The guitar work is fantastic on this song-even though I never understood the vocals. I never failed to be moved. Ca bouge non, mes amis?!

  • The guitar work is fantastic on this song-even though I never understood the vocals. I never failed to be moved.

  • As much as I love this song I don't like the fact that it puts Nairobi in a negative light based on the lyrics that have been translated.

  • what have you done with the family honor?

  • in the chorus, she is naming cities in Kenya: "Nairobi...Kisumu...Mombasa..Nakuru." Also, towards the end of the chorus, she says "Harambee" which literally means "to unite." But in the context of the song she is saying this to express her love for Kenya since Harambee is a common chant

  • Africa , my love, my only love in life . I am proud to say I met a beautiful people from Africa

  • About the translation: it's okay, you did well. If two people have to translate a document, the wording will not be the same, but as long as the idea expressed is the same, that is what matters...

  • @Malala1974 Thank you soooooo much Malala for the translation. Thanks also to OrionStar72. This is really nice from both you. take care

  • Tusker ikuje na crate. waze wapewe.

  • NAKEI NAIROBI (“El alambre”).

Her childhood friend has fallen on hard times and she sings of her determination to rush to her side.

  • Merci, Malala1974 des souvenirs....oh lala!

  • Nationalism is one of the reason why there is no peace in the world. We should learn to love all the countries without favoring our own nation. This has been the source of racial and tribal division. Nationalism is described in the Bible as pestilence causing adversities pestilence that walks in the gloom (Psalm 91:3, 6)

  • @Malala1974 Bible does not answers to everyones questions...I know a little wise old lady who says nationalism is one of the reasons we are who know who we are!

  • @Malala1974 I totally agree with you. If only we could all be one and embrace each other, the world will be too peaceful.

  • @Malala1974 Well said. It is the absolute truth.

  • you make me feel very lucky to be a kenyan, God bless my great land KENYA......I will always love u KENYA

  • Always wondered what this sultry lady was singing about... Beautiful song, very silky voice. Thanx 4 d sub-title.

  • This song takes me back home..... my mom and dad use to dance to this song when i was a kid.... LOVE IT

  • all this music reminds me of the golden age, wish I stayed likt, that everything was just fun. God bless Africa.

  • this song reminds me of them days when dad had a radio with wooden covers n nobody touched it.We could listen to Mbilia Bel,Tshala Muana n Franco.I miss those days

  • mbilia bellissima !!!!!!!!

  • Hii inanipeleka mbali sana. Long live Mbili Bel.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this! I loooove this song!

  • very nice music indeed, well she was singing about her highschool sweetheart that she love so much, and the guy move to kenya, thats why she says that she will get him back from nairobi to kinshasa.

  • I really like this very much...but I don't get the relationship between Congo and Kenya that Bel communicates in the song(looked it up and wasn't successful). What is she referring to by saying she would go to Kenya to bring it back to Kinshasa? Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • There is a symbiotic relationship between DRC and Kenya - many of Zaire/Congo's most successful bands used Kenya as a second home in the 60's and 70's (Mangwana, Mangelepa, Mapangala, Tabu Ley, etc) - so the lyrics are not surprising.

  • She's talking about "her lover" (DUNI) who moved to Kenya, she says that they travelled all over Kenyan cities like Nrb,Mombasa,Nakuru....Now she's going back to NRB to bring Duni back to kinshasa......

  • @jesusconquers

I don't think Duniya is her lover. I think she is her friend.

  • Missing word = ya Elodie

  • The missing word is : Hararé, a name of a city in Kenya !

  • Comment removed

  • 6Mosika9 the missing word is Harambee, which means "all put together" in Swahili and is the motto of Kenya.

  • ee gue champeta tan bacana hombe

  • viva kenya

  • reminds of president moi's dictatorship when it was at its peak life was very enjoyable and good though

  • Quelle nostalgie!
