When did Chip and Dale play on Fox? I remember them on (what was then) UPN 30....
So does anyone remember Joe Cool, the host they had for the Fox Kid's Club in those days? He was some local comedian who hosted the programming block each afternoon, did personal appearances at restaurant openings and public events...He wore a Hawaiian flowered shirt and swimtrunks, sported dark glasses and a beachcomber 'do, spouted hipster lingo...?
Lovely memories, I miss my weekday afternoon cartoons and commercials. Muppet babies, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Ducktales, Chip n dales, tale spin, tinytoons animaniacs and Barbie, skip it, and Ring Pop commercials are heaven ;) I'm 24 btu I will always be a little girl at heart
that milk commercial was sooooooooo crappy. lol. those pop-tarts look gross. im glad the ones i ate had harden icing on it. y arent there anymore juicy fruit commercials but they still juicy fruit. that back to the future game looked like it was in 3-D.
The 20th century was a time to be alive. There was always something to look forward to. The day when kids could not wait to get home from school so they can see their favorite shows.
Man I am mad I didnt recieve anything from Fox Kids club after I sent for it! I still want my mag! I dont care if its 20 years later! I think I am going to make a trip to San Diego and find that building!
And pop tarts were so awesome!
I remember I usto eat them on the school bus!
Am I the only one that usto watch these commericals as a kid and be like ewwwwwwwww I want that!!! I want that! On the cool toys! LOL!
Candy is working on what would have been the top of the line equipment 20 or 21 years ago. You wanna find that computer, you have to look down the street mid July at Bob so and so's garage sale. False Kevin Nealon handing her work to do as well. Look at that name on the door! Lol. Tonight on L.A. Law Gorill Morgan is caught cheating on his wife with Candy
If I may play "20something curmudgeon" for a moment...
The main thing I miss about TV from that time is that, despite it being filled with noise and obnoxious gimmicks, there were actually still some occasional moments of QUIET. You know----one or two-second pauses between shows and commercials after fading to black. But now? They don't even allow THAT. They don't let up for an instant. It's a constant assault; every microsecond has to be jam-packed with NOISE. It's awful.
There was also a commercial for "Bouncin' Kids" at 2:49, but the song was kinda catchy when the three little girls singing that song, but it was a take off of a song which was originally done back in 1916 by Billy Murray. I guess the people from Galoob re-written the lyrics and made it into a "Bouncin' Kids" jingle. "Pretty Baby" was originally done 83 years before the "Bouncin' Kids" jingle came along.
@krissyu84 I remember the "Fox Kids Club" promo. They used to show it on Fox's WNYW-TV (channel 5) in New York City back in 1990 where it was renamed as "Fox 5 Kids Club". DJ Katt was on that promo, but it had some great shows like the "Super Mario Bros. Super Show", "Woody Woodpecker", "Muppet Babies", "Alvin & the Chipmunks", "The Real Ghostbusters" and the syndicated version of the "Wonderful World of Disney". That brings back some good memories.
OMG I've seen this commercial for an LJN called "Back to the Future" at 6:14, it's got to be the worst NES game of all time and the music is annoying, just like a broken record that plays over and over and over again. I played it and I sucked at it. Thanks for putting this commercial for the worst NES game ever made based on a successful film.
wow i remember every single one of these commercials even the bbc one. damn i feel old but those were the days though. sometimes i wish i could go back to bad the kids of today can't experience times like those.
Back To The Future for the NES sucked!! How dare they take a great classic time travel film and bastardize it into a shitty NES game. I'm glad the AVGN reviewed this piece of shit!
I remember these commercials but I don't remember this show being on Fox. Hahaha! it must've been an affiliate thing. Like east coast/west coast time. In Nor Cal the Disney cartoons out of stations in Sacramento were on the UHF/VHF station that I think later became either UPN or WB. Then in the mid-90's Fox's WB programming went to WB! (which was practically all of their cartoons.) Its all tangled up. Long story short, today it'd be shown on the CW.
I don't know about other countries, but not in the US sadly. Last time it was on was back before Toon Disney became DisneyXD.... over half the series is on DVD though.
OMG Back to the Future....My parents had that game and I grew up with it..couldn't beat that malt shop scene .."It's almost like being in the movie"......Ljn jerks lol
arv beat that game it was a bitch. then when you get to the delorean part and hope you get passed it and you fail and get game over and have to do everything all over again
I was born in 1981 and the only commercials i remember from here were the one for pop tarts and the one for juicy fruit. Maybe they just ran different commercials on the east coast...
I still have a couple of those McDonalds toys sitting in a box in the closet at my parents house, they don't have anything like that anymore...not that I collect them anymore, I'm just saying, lol
I remember these back when Saturday cartoons were original, funny, and entertaining. Fox 11 is gone, CW/WB is dying, and ABC is Disney(not the good old school Disney)
Umm... maybe Back to the Future pt. 2 & 3? I can't be sure since I haven't played that one. Then again, has anyone for that matter? I think everybody went "no f*****g way!" after playing the first POS.
