People don't seem to realize they do completely different things. 'Kick' of course, simply reduced the amount the gun bucks after every shot. Grip, however, doesn't affect the actual recoil. Grip increases center time (it increases the speed at which the gun goes back to center-screen, where it was before any shots made it kick up or to the side).
