cause the south had no clue what was happening to the irish in the north by the british army and the south did not believe the irish in the north when they would tell them. but irish americans new what was happening. thats why we gave them money and guns from the US. and the PIRA had the Dublin Brigade in the south and i think a Munster Brigade the IRA units in the south set up training camps and stored guns money and hid IRA men from the north
