It looks like Kerry Burtnyk has some shiny/glossy substance on the top of his head. Does anyone know what that is and why it's there?

If you look up the players profiles you will see that Kerry had cancer in 2002 on the top of his head, muscle was replaced as was skin from his legs for the top of his head
