  • thanks dude. had the same problem with my UX 1, also the sound was always kind of "shaking" for a few seconds until it was gone permanently. now it works just fine. i always thought it was because of my laptop but it's pretty new with a fast processor and 6gig ram so it couldn't be. you were a great help!

  • is it possible to play on gigs with this thing? they told me that it's made for recording and stuff butt i heard a few vids and it sounds so awesome that i wanne buy it but not just for recording only. more as an allround sound system.

  • @tallicaboy100 you can. you can go directly into the PA-system but you always have to bring a laptop to the gig and run Pod Farm or Gearbox. you are better of with a POD X3 or Pod HD 500 or something like that. it's a standalone guitar modeler and you don't need a PC-system for it. cheers!

  • I think it is programmed to stop for out of tune instruments :)

  • At 2.30 .. which programm do you use !?

  • "Searched on line 7 forums and such and didn't find much of any help..." Try Line 6 forums, maybe you'll be luckier!

  • hello mate, have spent hours and hours trying to fix this. massive thanks for your vid, your advice worked!

  • good vid bro, we need peeps like you on here :)

  • chutiye..

  • do you directly plug it into the UX2 or do you plug into an amp and connect to the UX2 through the emulated out?

  • You said line 7 at the 2:40 , simple mistake , really good video though hanks im looking for something good i can record with , i have a line 6 spider 4 , does this play the sound through your computer when your recording with it ?? thanks

  • DON'T BUY THIS IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS 7. THE SOUND STOPS WORKING RANDOMLY AND A RESTART OF YOUR COMPUTER IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO GET IT TO WORK AGAIN.

  • @Airguitarfooker i had this problem. then i watched the video and did what the nice guy in the video did, now it works just fine. also my whole band works with these thing on - take a guess - windows 7 PCs ;)

  • Is there away to run the sounds back into an amp so it will be louder? Sorry, I'm a noob at this stuff.

  • Yea , thats the one thing that they screwed up ...

    ..IT SHOULD BE USB 2.0

but its the old slower usb 1.0

  • I got the same problem, thanks for sharing. I hope it'll works on me

  • Hey there mate, Rob from the Gong here. Ive just got the line 6 UX2 and the Vocalist Live 3. work tops together. Im still deciding what recording software to get, used to have Acid pro. Where did you get your copy from mate? And how much did it cost ya? Thanks...

  • I hope you are better using computer programs than playing the guitar

  • Hey mate. Im aussie too haha. but thats not the point.. Um I bought this today. And I got it all hooked up updated the drivers and what not. But.... I am getting alot of crackling in from my headphones and Ive checked leads and settings to try fixing it.. I have a toshiba satelite laptop. Its windows 7 with 2g ram and 64 bit. But yeah I checked forums and stuff and noone seems to have solved it, Woundering if ya had a clue. Cheers mate

  • Why don't you use the guitar tuner which is built in Gearbox

  • Now that u have the awesome Hardware its time to get an awesome tuner :D

  • I like it sweetie

  • HOLY CRAP that intro was out of tune xD

  • ive noticed in many reviews of this product, those using a pc or laptop have the troubles and anyone with a decent home desktop setup (MAC) is praising it! PC cannot handle this stuff the same way as MAC unless you are some tech expert with the latest PC with all the upgrades BLAH BLAH BLAH JUST GET A MAC AND ALL YOUR PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED!

  • 8gb RAM? goddamn...

  • Ha! Finally fixed it! Thank you!

  • Hey! Tune your guitar first!

  • mate im thinking of buying the same laptop and the ux2 and was wondering that ..is it possible to install the pod farm plugin on two separate laptops? thanks :D

  • I've also had problems with the UX2. And I have an HP laptop. But my problem is that it picks up the most horrendous, unbearable, sad excuse of a sound. I dont know how to explain it. I hate saying it sounds like "feedback" because then people assume thats what it is. Its very frustrating so if anyone can help or has this problem, please tell me.

  • @tshannon21 Same problem here: In POD Farm, my sound is great, but when I try to record it, it's horrible.

  • Mate I got 64 and have no idea but...... I'd say yes. Just check the box that will let u know.

  • @Wattsy069

  • hi i want to buy this line6 ux2...it ok in windows 7 32bit???????

  • Good feedback. Hope line6 reads that.

  • hey, i'm assuming your lap top is running windows 7 64bit operating system instead of 32 bit, as 32 bit only supports up to 4GB of RAM. However, my point is that my buddy has a line6 interface using a 32 bit windows 7 lap top and this issue doesnt happen, however, when i ran his interface on my 64 bit windows 7 lap top the dropping in and out occurred frequently, perhaps it is a driver issue with windows 7 machines. just my input!!! thanks for the good vid.

  • I have kind of a problem. I cant get ANYTHING that we humans call sound trough the UX. I plug it in in the USB port and I got a guitar pluged in in the front guitar jack. So why cant I get Any sound from my guitar into the PC? its not just POD farming. It wont work on any of my recording and edeting softwware! HELP?!

  • @ossikater OK I know stupid question but I have to ask..... is your 1)Guitar turned up????? 2) how is sound to work? Earphones if so is the knob on UX turned up. Also when your strum and get no sound does the gage move? If it does not dose it more at all?

Have u updated all the drivers as well?

  • @ossikater Hi, you need to attach either speakers or phones to your UX2. It cancels your regular speakers.

  • @ossikater Are you sure you have your speakers or your amplifier connected to the recording device?

Because you only said you had the USB and the guitar connected...

  • @ossikater the only way to monitor your playing is if you plug in headphones or comp speakers into the headphone jack. or use a y cable from studio monitors (speakers) into the back audio jacks. or check out line 6 support video on youtube

  • @ossikater

Do you have the drivers set up? Perhaps you need to go to the settings and set the audio device input.

  • @Wattsy069 Derp- yes you need to increase the buffer size. Lol, you have 8 gigs of ram, use it!

Also, you should write your fix in the description so that people dont have to watch the video.

  • heici pi :))))

  • @GurkinDergei WTF?????

  • Играть не надо было...

  • Hey, first of all really nice video, i'm sure this is very beneficial to many people with windows 7. I have windows 7 and I was hearing things about issues with latency and incompatible drivers and things, would you be able to verify that? Also Would you recommend this unit as a whole? I really want to get it but I am not sure if it is worth all the money (Amazon UK - £149). Thank you for any help! :)

  • I dont know which one to buy line 6 studio UX1 or UX2 . I have been reding some comments about some users having problems with UX2. this problems realy dont let you work. I know UX2 has more powerfull features. But in the other hand I have readed very good comments about UX1 with no problems . Can you help me to decide. thankyou so much..........

  • @bufalopoderoso Hi, Iv only had this problem with it that I fixed. Other then that its pretty sweet so Far. But really as far as I can tell the UX1 is pretty much the same just less inputs. When I was deciding I went for the UX2 just as it was not that much more then the 1 and I thought better to go the better one now and i dont have to upgrade.

But really if your own your own and never thing you will need to record 2 guitars at the same time go the one.

I have never recorded 2 at once.

  • nice accent :)

  • @theonelink Cheers.....

  • Thanks for the video! Also, I know NOTHING about this type of thing, will POD Farm work with any computer? Finally I would just like to say your accent is the stuff of legend.

  • @TheMetalHobbit I guess it will run any computer running the specs but id check out the line 6 site and ask them so ur 100% it will be sweet.

  • Also if you have to put your buffer that high then you're going to have some serious latency, which is really annoying and defeats the purpose of a low latency.device. I hope that it doesn't do that anymore though, but if it does still, maybe it's your computer, or you installed the drivers incorrectly.

Personally I like it a lot but if you have that problem you might as well just get another device instead.

  • @ShimmySystem hi, i get no latency at all. There is a warning about it but yeah its sweet. Thanks for the advice though.

  • @RZTroiano WTF

  • must you own/install other software if you want to get other effects? Or, can you put any other pedal/foot switch between the recorder to get other setting?

    Excuse my English. Thank you.

  • @AHMADF93 Sorry Mate dont know

  • I'm sorry but the guitar at the start was just awful. Guitar needed to be tuned.

  • @cptnsmelly Yeah i know i was stoked i got it to work so i recorded it straight away. Sorry hey was more just a test thing more then anything else. But yeah I agree.... My Bad.

  • line 7? lol

  • @visionsrecording yeah don't know why I said that..... but I was like ah stuff it. Thanks for picking up on my stupidity.................

  • hahah no problem brooooo, i acutely own a recording studio, i normally record with my 5150 mesa cab setup, but, the 5150 only goes so far and i see that pod farm covers a huge range of guitar tones at a very high quality sound.

How has your experience running pod farm been?

  • @visionsrecording hey yeah its going awesome. There is heaps I can do with it and im having zero troubles with it now. Sounds good on "kinda finished" results as I have not had the time to fully learn it. Seems to go very well on my set up and yeah heaps good for my bedroom set up. Anything u wanna know in detail let me know and Ill check it out for you.....

  • gotta ask, how do you record the mic and guitar? Can you record them both without having to switch options? (set mic to a track, and guitar to another) or can you only use the guitar and mic inputs one at a time? An answer would be appreciated.

  • @ShimmySystem Hi, Im sure u can set mike to one track and guitar to another. But right now im not sure. If i sort it out ill let u know.

Sorry for delay but my Laptop has had some probs so been off the net.

  • Hey, dumb question but this device acts a sound card also yes ? Do you have to run the Pod Farm software to use it as a sound card for mixing in your preferred DAW ?

  • @trulynot Hey, yeah this hoes run as a sound card. With this Plugged in and set to default all my sounds come though my UX2. So windows start up, iTunes, Youtube all comes through my UX2.

Guitar Input only comes through once I have Pod Farm Open. That's how I run it. Could be other ways but this is how its running on mine.

  • @Wattsy069 Cool bananas, thanks.

  • Thats a huge buffer, how has that affected latency ? Are you recording tone direct or recording a dry signal and manipulating the tone after wards ?

  • @trulynot Nun at all...... Don't know if its just my laptop or what ever but i get zero Latency on this set up. Fixed my problem though so, guess as long as it works correctly I'm happy.

  • @Wattsy069

im using pod Farm 2 using the tone and recording direct.

  • dude! how do you install the UX1 pod farm into Acid Pro 7? I have no idea, it's really frustrating. I use windows vista

  • @KillMrFist Hey Champ,

    Ill try and Help.

Ok so with your UX1 plugged in and cranking. With Pod Farm open and getting sound is step 1.

    Open Acid Pro

Go to the Top - Options - Preferences

Audio Device Tab at the Top

    Device Audio Type -ASIO UX1........

This should work from there. If not in the Preferences Tab Try and change all you can to the UX1.

Let me know if it works..... If not we can try and trouble shoot it and work it out as I know how shitty it is when something like this doesn't work.

  • @Wattsy069 Hey man, I managed to figure it out! thanks anyway. I really appreciate you trying to help. Rock on!

  • @KillMrFist No worries dude, was I right?

  • @Wattsy069 yeah man you were spot on, thanks alot! I recorded my 1st song last night, you can check it out here if you wish - soundcloud . com/scott-holmes/metal-mayhem-final

    Thanks again!

  • @KillMrFist Sounds good champ. How did u do the drums? Not my kind of music but u have done it sweet.... lol, nice fade out. I have not recoded a thing yet really. Wish I could find time, or had talent, lol.

  • @Wattsy069 Thanks alot dude, I used EZdrummer and the drumkit from hell extension pack (bought that separate). Ezdrummer is so easy to use. For this I used presets from one of my favorite bands Messhugah. If your looking for a good drumming software I suggest using this. It's basically drag and drop into a new recording channel and your away.

  • @KillMrFist Dude I Downloaded EZdrummer but I dont know how to use it. Truth is I dont even know where it is.

How does it work? whats the deal? Is it within Sony Acid of is it a program on its own. Any suggestions as im lost on this one.

  • @KillMrFist Dude I got EZdrummer cranking.... BUT, I cant get the Tempo to change in Acid Pro 7. How you change the tempo one you got a drum section in Sony?

  • thanks so much dude. had the same problem until i watched this

  • @msabaseball1293 No worries champ glad I could help. I got line 6 looking into this as well but hey we got it working for now so its sweet......

Let me know if you have any other Dramas. Mine has not missed a beat since this video, so stoked.....
