You may want to take a look at APN settings, makes a difference.

~80ms Ping (the ping is the big deal to me) Not the fastest, but all the other APN settings had higher ping times, and took much much longer to get up to full speed. the PTA APN is the one AT&T is using by default on newer HSPA+ phones.

@earlie789 The iphone runs on the hspa+ network which is 3g every since hspa+ and wimax were recognized

as "4g" technology by the ITU both T-mobile and AT&T started calling their 3g data networks 4g so if you go and ask a rep at ether store they'll keep telling you that the iphone runs on 3g and the newer phones run on 4g but in reality they're on the same network the difference in speeds I believe are caused by the newer phones being capped so the dont sell as well as the iphone.

AT&T branded phones tend to show H+ when connected to 3G. Non AT&T phones that are connected to AT&T's network tend to be more honest about the network it is connected to. So it is not always connected to HSPA+ when it says it is. In this video it was probably connected to 3G, which is why the iPhone got similar results.

That is not HSPA+, it is a known issue that none of the phones can actually connect to HSPA+ even if in a service area. anything above edge is shown as "H+" on all ATT 4G phones. Nice to see 4G phones are just as fast as the 3G I phone 4.
