  • is it worh to buy ( brand new) for 440 euros , 2 years warrenty :P

  • Can this laptop work with an optical mouse?

  • i have it and its awesome

  • dude mine dnt hve no webcam lol

  • @mrspyguy88 mine dosnt

  • smallest trackpad i have ever seen my teachers use it at school lol

  • is it good for browsing porn?

  • I can feel the smell of your kitchen, because it seems familiar. I don't know why.....:S

  • is it just me or they made these laptops just to compete with Thinkpads. I got one thinkpad, it is so much similar to this dell laptop. Metal hinges, track point button etc...

  • It looks nice, but every time I turn it on it doesn't even boot

  • My laptop is in terrible condition now, and I treat it with respect. The hinges are loose, the back of the lid is chipped, one of the eject buttons have snapped off and the clip snapped off. Glad I have a 3 year warantee on it

  • nice crocs

  • i have this laptop and i hate it, i dont even use it

  • @PullMeOver911 I used to have it but now i use a Dell Precision M6400 Mobile workstation

  • @LawrenceLouie

mine doesnt have a webcam...btw what is the little thing to the left of the "Dell" word when you open your keyboard?

  • @PullMeOver911 well if you dont use give it to me!

  • Would have liked to see the Windows Experience Index score.

  • Hey! I have this laptop and I was wondering how you work the webcam? i've been trying to use it but websites say that they can't detect the camera :/ ?

  • how do you get the webcam to work????!!

  • Nice review.. Nice quality of video, im just wondering why the video sound got so.. bad?

  • cut & clean your nails before shooting? :D

  • Hallo Lawrence, Hallo all

i have the posibility to buy a new E6400 for 730 EURO with 1400x900 LED, 3 GB Ram, P8700, Backlit Keyboard but no webcam and no fingerprint.

    The guarantee is till 04/2013.

What you recommend the E6400 for this price?

    Thanks!

  • @andarcjunk The price isn't bad but try looking into the Dell Latitude E6410 the updated model.

  • @LawrenceLouie thanks. I think you're right, but the price of the E6410 ist much expensive. My actual offer: E6410, i7, 4 GB, Backlit, 3 years Guarantee, 3 year Accu, 3 year complete care, win 7 Ultimate 64, 1400x900 = 1.400 EURO

I use it only fpr Office and Internet - so its a little bit overpowered ^^

  • @andarcjunk no problem. If you want to find out more about the new Latitude E series check out my channel. I have the Dell Latitude E6510 review on there. So it can give you some ideas .

  • @andarcjunk I’m having a hurt time trying to make the wireless device work. Does anybody know how to activated ???

  • @andarcjunk Thats a bad deal i can get a good laptop for 100euro that is brand new!

  • how much does that battery cost??

  • how much did it cost?

  • Thanks for the review...

  • any way, it the dell latitude E6500 better?

  • i`ve mine to day, i bought mine for 450.- euro ^^, it`s actually 1 236,41 euro

but after 2 hours talking with that dude, i scared him >><<

  • Have you used a ThinkPad before? If so, how would you compare the construction quality?

  • @waluum ive used a 6400, id say about the same.

  • @waluum I have a thinkpad and its okay

  • Thanks for the great review! It really made me confident in purchasing the now, E6410. By the way, what is the title of the song you played?

  • @CM0N3Y2021 Depeche Mode - Strangelove

  • every time i watch a Dell notebook video someone is talking about a problem with it ! i'll never fuckin Buy one, EVER!!

  • @kaveack shut it bitch Dell kicks ass

  • do they all come with an lg panel?

  • Is there any light source for Dell laptops to illuminate the keyboard? you know that thing that you have at ThinkPads Can you name me any of those laptops?

  • How would you rate it against a Dell Vostro 3400 or 3300? Am split between E6400 and Vostro 3400/3300

  • @tobysutube I would go for the Dell Latitude E6400 in Blue. Its currently at a good price and it has nice specs for the money. I would still stick with the Core 2 Duo processor but i would go with a clock speed of 2.53GHz or higher.

  • @LawrenceLouie Thanks for the opinion

  • what kind of mouse and pad is that that you have

  • Logitech Nano Black and Fellowes mouse pad

  • How to open backside plate to upgrdae memory? Try to take out scrools but still filing like sticked plate, just doesnt come of and I do not want to be to rough and damage or scratch laptop. Any idea for hel?

  • you slide the plate downwards

  • thanks man

  • wow really???? you had it sent back just because it got scratched... are you the kind of person who has an iphone and has 6 screen protectors, and an armored case for it to ????

  • there was a problem with the latch that caused the bezel to rub against the palmiest that cause scratches. No rubber bumpers on the LCD Bezel itself. and yes i do have a screen protector on my Phone Specifically a LG Voyager. Im that kind of person who likes to keep their stuff in the best condition possible

  • @LawrenceLouie You mean that the LCD caused a discursive line of scratches? Because my mom's E6400 has this problem

  • @unimatrix82 lol I laughed my ass off on your comment

  • compare this to a thinknpad t series. thinkpad clearly wins

  • depends on which t series you are comparing. If its the Thinkpad T400 then the Latitude will have a edge on it. If its the Thinkpad T400s then the e6400 has some serious competition

  • very true...but i am talking about in general, the thinkpads are more durable, expandable, and of course, are very intuitive and have a great array of features. The Trackpoint pointing device was introduced by Thinkpads (the little blue nub in the center). Also, what do you think of the latitude e5400 and e5500 a step down from this series? I have a vostro 1015 from january of this year and it is rock solid for $500 Can you please compare this with another laptop such as a dell latitude d series

  • well i currently have the Dell Latitude E6500. In my personal opinion the Latitude E5500 and e5400 they are great for basic tasks and stuff but the build quality is a slight strep down from the e6500 and e6400. but to compare to the older D series the build quality should be slightly identical.

I do know that a few companies out there got the pointing stick idea from Thinkpads but its nice to see them on most business laptops. Its a great feature and well i applaud IBM for that

  • Would you say the latitudes are compatible with Dell docks from the D generation. I have read on Dell's website that they are but I want to know if that is true. Also, what about the heat related issues that elbigjim was talking about? Do you reccemond vostro series or lattitude series?

  • my mom has this laptop :D

  • How much did you buy ur laptop for?

  • because my work E6400 heats up and the clock duke it out all day!

  • Hi,

I checked in the internet and found that E6400 has massive overheating and underclocking problem. Whats your comment on this ?

  • the A19 Bios update should fix the issue

  • Thanks for your feedback. I have been planning to buy a laptop. My options are either HP Elitebook 6930p or Dell Latitude 6400. I can't find any comparison on the net. Can you suggest me which one is better. I am not a gamer.

    Thanks

  • 6400 has a backlit keyboard. wins over the elitebook cause of that feature. otherwise both are similar.

  • How do you know you have the A19 Bios update?

  • Great review! I'm about to get this laptop for my universities business program. It's required, which sucks that they require a laptop, but they require this one or the e6500 so I'm glad it's good.

  • The speakers sound pretty good for there size (Imagine an oblong quarter)

  • Yeah, firewire is a feature that many companies TOOK OUT! My 2003 latitude had firewire. Almost everey laptop ive seen scince dosent.

  • if you put a cloth in between the keyboard and LCD it won't happen

  • The logo of "SmartReader" on the chassis is supported on all models or is optional? Thanks

  • how do we switch on the web cam?

  • How do we switch on the web cam?

  • I believe its an potion in the BIOS

  • Thanks for the review. How's the build quality of the laptop? Are the palmrest, keyboard, LCD lid, and overall chassis pretty solid?

  • dude is that rat poop next to the display port connector? (@.@)

  • no its just a fuzz ball

  • oh okay. im still traumatized by the size of that rat i saw on the subway.. (O.O) nice lappy btw pally. i got the dell studio 15. how much did yours cost? man i love gadgets.

  • Total bill was $2,150. have the 3 year Pro Support Warranty / 3 year Gold Support and 3 Years of Complete Care which includes Accidental coverage. I actually like the Dell Studio 15. whats the specs on your notebook

  • man im suprised a guy like you would've bought a mac instead lol. they claim dell is crap. you know the religious macfans.. thatll bombard the place youre in if you insult mac in front of em, (@.@) wow.. @ the complete care.. with accidental coverage. you have sweet specs for your latitude.. i have the 1535, with the touch sensible buttons ontop. havent had a problem with it. for the last 9 months. 230 gig hard drive,.. customer care support. that only includes hardware malfunction...

  • and,.. a 3 year mcafee subscription. lol its not as fancy as yours.. but it was a b-day gift. i personally am going to have a backlit keyboard attached to it. and the gaming is moderate. i could play team fortress 2. lol. so hows the gaming on your latitude? pally? HAPPY you got that dell laptop lolz

  • gaming is very good on this machine. it can play Fear on High settings without problems

  • thats uber nice... lol my dell can only withstand team fortress 2 and half life 2. but i can get it customized with a faster processor but i has an xbox360 already lol. btw you gotta try team fortresss 2 for some hillarious online multiplaying pally. k? (^_^)

  • ill see if i can get it

  • hell yeah youll have a blast. lol, i mean they die so horribly and.. so funny at the same time. its only 20 bucks and the updates are free from valve.

  • how do u turn on the blacklit?

idk if mine has it or not

  • Fn right arrow Key

  • Great overview, just ordered mine yesterday.

  • what about build quality ?

  • quite good no major flex or creeks i can detect

  • hey how do you turn o the wifi idk how to do it on mine

  • the switch is on the right side of the notebook

  • does it get really hot? and eventually overheat?

  • as of now no

  • could this play WoW with the 160m?

  • well if FEAR can run on the 160M then WoW would be easily playable on this notebook

  • How can one know which brand the lcd is made by?

How much does it way with the 6 cell battery?

  • look in device manager under Monitors. It weights in at 4.8lbs with the 6 cell

  • keep in mind this laptop is built exactly like the M4400. They use many of the same parts for the case, except for the lid.

  • thanks for the review but keep the camera still please! better yet, get a tripod.

  • whats your operating system?

  • Maybe I missed this in your description, but what version of Windows are you using?

I'm probably buying this same laptop soon, so your video helped me make a decision.

  • Windows 7

  • Awesome review lawrence!

  • Ah I see :D Well its really is a nice laptop yes, my E6400 has got some scrathes on the lid when I turned it around to upgrade the ram, its very sensitive against small grain and such :(

  • Hmm really nice review, have the laptop myself :D Just one thing is bothering me though, why the hell didn't you get the WXGA+ screen instead, when you almost maxed out the laptop on every other aspect? :D

  • I'm pretty used to the 1280x800 resolution, as i had with my Dell XPS m1210. I don't really need resolution higher than that. I don't photoshop like my sis does. Besides, everything is too small, not too great with the crappy vision I have. As long as its LED backlit, I'm happy. Thanks for the comment :D

  • great! how much did you get for this?

  • total bill $2,100
