  • it was used for thrusting "godendaag" , for striking "godendaag" and for slashing open the flanks of horses " GODENDAAAG " >.<

    great XDD

  • GODENDAG!

  • He said if you bet on the french , you lost,, seriously , who ever bets on the french.

  • there is your first mistake ....NEVER bet on the french

  • @shaider1982

Because they are english :D french and english are not the best frends ya know :)

  • @Schelmfreak96 Ahh, yes, the epitome is in Jeremy Clarkson's snide comments on the French in some of his presenting work. Good chap.

  • Why do the French always lose in Conquest?

  • @shaider1982

they don't. but ever since ww2 they have to take those jokes...

strange, though ... the usa sucked so badly against the vietnamnese peasant army and can't even control afghanistan despite pumping in a million times more money into the effort than the other side does ... but does get filtered out by the internal censor. :)

  • @Aroddo I guess history is made by the winners, but is rewritten by Hollywood. I think in Vietnam, they didn't suck as much as the French though Westmoreland's "grab the enemy by the balls, hearts and minds will follow" really wasn't that wise.

  • The thing though, you would have at least four peasant levies with bills against a single knight.

  • Guten Tag, not goten tag.

  • @Kustich91 you're right if they were referring to german. however, they're not; it's flemish. but it's not like the show tells you where the weapon comes from or anything...oh, wait.

  • @njransom I ended up looking it up and the correct Flemish (dutch language) spelling would be goedendag, godendac appears to be the way the French would spell it. There is some unclarity about how the name came about as the Flemish would actually call it what it looked like. Which brings me to the most amusing thing here, the weapon depicted in the show is not a goedendag. .

  • A nice mace blow would do the job , also the billhook for sweeping the knight/removing his shield before stabbing the chainmail joints

  • Guten Tag

  • Great show! The armor is sometimes a little off of the specific period it is supposed to represent, but that's really just a nit-pick.
