How to Sync and Download Podcasts to iPod, iPod Nano, iPod Touch

I was wondering if you could help me. I had a tiny little ipod which i had synced with my itunes. All of my music and such were on this ipod. Then my good friend gave me her ipod classic. When i tried syncing my music on itunes to my ipod classic which had my friends music on it, it wouldn't even register that the device was plugged in. I had my ipod plugged into the correct usb port and i don't know why it didn't register. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thanks.

@Talk2Terrie I recommend watching my other video, which you can get to here: youtube.com/watch?v=WZx6p7hXsy­s&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL By using this CopyTrans Manager (it's free), you'll be able to delete individual podcasts (they show up individually as tracks with your music) and save the ones you want.

Ugh, I was hoping this video would answer my question. I just got my first iTouch a few days ago and I've downloaded a bunch of podcasts but where on the iTouch do I view them??? There's nothing but icons of all the apps that came with the iTouch and all the apps that I downloaded. Please help! This is the fourth video I've watched that hasn't answered that question. I don't know where else to go (I've googled for an answer and they all go through the steps mentioned here). :(
