@allsongshere That's true, but Apple wanted to make a slim computer for travel that is lightweight and can be taken anywhere without the weight of a regular laptop. Also, usually people don't use CD's when they are "on the go."

its basically a new mac. Somehow apple gets the old computers back and puts new stuff in them, then they sell them for a little cheaper than brand new.

pretty much it comes with a seperate drive for 100 bucks or you can use a remote disk off another mac.

No, the build quality of the white MacBook is crap! It is made of plastic, and I have heard that there is a 10% hardware failure for the white MacBook. It is not as solid as the precision aluminum unibody construction. Essentially, in my opinion, it is crap! They also heat warp. I have the MacBook Pro 13-inch.

windows sucks lol, i wouldnt buy a macbook air though as they dont have any cd drives and only 1 USB, a netbook does the same tricks for a lot less, id much prefer a macbook aluminium as they have it all built in

i know that macbook air is good overall but the hinges break very easily. I don't think they spend bery much time one the durablility on the hinges. You should take a look at that

depends on what you do with the laptop.

if you are doing school work (word, excel, powerpoint, internet), then a air that's refurbished will be a good laptop to start with. if you are using it for video editing or anything that requires power and speed, go with the macbook so you can upgrade the ram to 4GB which is what i'm using.
