i took the plugin but i dont have the service i was expecting... Greg said we get email with videos when we activate the? plugin but still we didnt got one... far from that the dashboard is not the one you are showing its completely different...
Matt is this something Google is looking to fix? I've never had problems with scrapers in the past, but with the recent change sellers copying and pasting my content into classified sites and on Ebay completely devestate my rankings. I realize Ebay isn't doing this directly, however the sellers that use it only care about selling an item and freely copy reveiws and info from other sites, even if it's original content. This update seems clueless about who had the content first and the original.
Hey Matt, as of the recent Oct 13th 2011 Panda update, Google is mistakenly giving credit of the original content to scrapers instead of my site. Many of the sites are spammy, however it looks like Ebay, Kijija.ca classifieds site in Canada (also owned by Ebay I believe) and sometimes craigslist ads take my content and it thows my site into the supplemental index. Because my site was ranked highly with great info, those looking to sell something in my niche often copy and paste my content wit
We have 5 scrapers getting content from our site and linking back to our site. However, after the Google Panda update the scrapers are showing everywhere and we arent!
People who intelligently scrape content from well-written, but low PR sites often outrank the original and then the problem compounds as their pagerank grows faster and faster (since they spend all their time posting content, not writing it). I could name a few high-PR wikis edited by a single crafty content scraper.
Google may be amoral on this issue because the end user gets what they want, but it will eventually lead to lots of dirtbags on top and nobody left to write original content.
Matt - How do we deal with sites like diigo, clipmarks, etc. where users sometimes "post" entire web pages and these "notes" can outrank the original source in Google search results.
Amit, what's worse is when the spammers end up on Google News above your original content website. I've witnessed this worrying trend during the past few weeks. Matt, How can I report that?
Matt is suggesting to do a spam report. You can learn how to do this by searching our Help Center for "spam report." Our Help Center can be found at the URL shown at the end of the video.
This is a good customer service video. It helps.

Personally I find that just providing good customer service and new daily content helps us slowly but surely rise up the ranks :)

Actually, scraping a little bit of content from other sites is good if you link back to the original source.
Both parties will be happy

Thanks, that was quick.
I was trying (too) hard to figure out what he was saying and after all that technical jargon I wasn't expecting something so simple. :D
Cheers

Just to clarify: I'm listening to the videos through a MacMini internal speaker.
Not the best listening experience as you can imagine...

It's worth mentioning that if someone scrapes your site, they may only end up linking to you if you're using absolute links.
