@TheEPCpwn Yes sir, you are correct, you do have to be careful with these. Thats why put the disclaimer at the beginning where I advised I waited until we had some heavy rain and the ground and trees were saturated wet before I shot these
Those tracers were Awsome! I took my granson to the range, and he loved shooting my 10/22 and the looks on his face! cracked me up, he had just turned 5
you know tracers were origionally used to take down zepplins the hot burning phosphorus ignited the hydrogen inside the balloon but since they burn so bright someone went "hey these would be good to use at night"
@iamcondescending I think the fact that they are so slow helps you see them, I have seen them out of a 5.56 and its going so fast they dont show up as good
This looks like it was one of those rare days that you and your son will remember for a lifetime - "The day that dad and I shot fire bullets from his rifle".
Those were pretty cool lol. I tried some surplus 5.56mm nato tracers one time just for the heck of it, and they certainly weren't as bright as those .22cals.
im proud to see americas youth handling weapons with such resposibility and comtroll at sucj a young age. if everybody was like your son there would be way less gun laws in america. keep up the vids :)
@brotherskeepers111 haha yeah definatly. The owner of the land said he didnt care though because he was wanting to set part of the land on fire anyway so it could grow back better, so that was good haha
i always like to see the tracers in the machine guns too. looks like u had a couple of failures to feed. i cant get tracers in california. booo who. good vid sir
are they having trouble cycling? I bought a 10/22 last year and haven't shot it yet, I was hoping it was a quality rifle, they have a great reputation.
I have had a nylon 66 back in the 60's and picked up a marlin glenfield 60 in the 80's, but I haven't spent a lot of time on the 22 rifles, but I do shoot the Mark II target pistol, its tops. good tracer footage bro's
@brotherskeepers111 Yah the tracers are a little slower than normal rounds they go 1050 fps so it might be they are kinda lightly powered and dont always cycle semis
@gunsmith93 Its made by TruGlo, I dont know if they make this particular model anymore, but they still produce one very similar to it. I paid about 45 dollars for it some years at go at Wal-Mart. I dont think they carry them anymore, all I ever see in there now are red dots by Tasco.
haha nice. Last year when i went camping (it was on some guys land that i knew) some of the other people were shootin tracer rounds and endin up setting one of the fields on fire haha.
That's so much fun my friend. I enjoy going out with my son and shoot some cans too. your nice young man shoots like a champ. Did I hear you saying bolt action.? That sounded more of a semi-auto. :)
@Waverip11 I think these do well because they are only moving about 1000 feet per second, the 5.56 is three times as fast and probably makes it harder to see over short distances
Dude you are a great father. I wish to God my dad would have done things with me like that. All I can remember is that he went to one of my ball games throughout my life and he was mad that my mother made him do it. I was so nervious that he was there that when a pop fly ball went up in the air I didnt catch it and it broke my nose. He wass really pissed when he had to take me to the hospital. Your son will allways remember you doing things with him. Trust me.
@enok45 Thanks man, I hope and pray he will have good memories of his childhood and all the fun things we have done together. I have a good father, but he did not share my love of firearms, we have never been shooting together, he just never cared for it.
That was a great vid, thanks for sharing your Son's shot with us. It gives me some ideas for training my boys, the tracers could really be handy teaching them sight picture and alignment since they'll be able to see it fly downrange. Just like a laser for trigger control, under the right conditions these could be handy training aides.
I loved the ricochet's, had to watch this vid twice :D
@Mr45Bullitt LOL, thanks man, yea I figured I had better put a disclaimer right at the beginning to prevent 50 comments about me catching the woods on fire
Of course he will respect and be safe around all "guns" because of your guidance.
The anti-gun people never seem to talk about responsible use. Only worst case scenarios (and factually distorted ones at that).
Hopefully more Americans see this side of sporting and also learn more about the historical aspects (individual rights) regarding firearms and 2nd Amendement.
@machineguntongue Thanks my friend, I have another video in the future where I will address some of the very issues you just mentioned, thanks for watching man
Awesome, i've seen these around from time to time. Looks like they work very well. Your son is well on his way to becoming a rifleman. Thanks for sharing
That's quality time right there. I'm looking forward to getting two girls out to the range this year. They are a bit reluctant, but I feel gun safety, and shooting skills are very important for our family. They are 10 and 11yrs old now, so they are ready for the responsibility that comes with handling firearms. Thanks for sharing BK. Take care
@PrepPro2717 Yes sir, we had a great day. It is very important for us to instill in our children the love of the outdoors and how important it is to practice our God given rights and to never take them for granted. I appreciate the comment myfriend
@Mightylite94 Yes he talks about it, but I am not going to push him that direction, he might just change his mind when he gets a little older, we shall see
@brotherskeepers111 Yes, thats great! I typed that comment before i saw how young he was lol but its great he already thinks of possible careers at a young age. You never know, he could be the President one day! God bless you sir and thumbs UP!!
i aint tryin to leave a negative comment but tracer rounds cant catch stuff on fire cause the magnisum on the rounds on burns for like four seconds.
