Wow, this takes me back to when I had to go to stay with my dad at the weekends when I really didn´t want to go, and the only good that came of it was me delving in to his fantastic record collection, which included Timi Yuro, who I´d totally forgotten about. I can´t believe it, I´m completely gobs-smacked! She is an amazing singer which I actually appreciated way back in my younger years.
This still sounds wonderful even after all the years have gone by. I wonder how many times she had to sing it? I still think this original recording could never be bettered, as it was so fresh, and so much better than when she rerecorded it, along with her other hits. As good as rerecordings can be, they never capture the magic of the original. This applies to all singers, not just Timi.
I am also against singers making albums of other peoples hits, as they never seem to work
