Try "Der heyser Bulgar". Traditionally klezmer songs didn't have a standard name, the band leader would just start playing and everyone would follow along. It wasn't until tunes were recorded that they had names for track lists.
I am separating from the Field Band in a few days. I have done this with 2 soloists. This is by far the best I have ever heard it in my 4 years with the field band. Fantastic!
Thanks, I was the one the chart was written for, it was written because I love and play klezmer music all the time. After I retired the Field Band did it because it "went over" with the audience. Good luck in your post field band life!
Oy Tate! This fellow has done his homework! I am impressed with the soloist's performance, the band's performance and the fact that an official agency of the US Government is supporting klezmer music. This is something to be proud of...wow!
For good klezmer from a really competent clarinetist, look up Martin Frost, much better than this pale imitation, much more technical and musical.

I wish I could play the clarinet. I would learn it just so I could play this music; Klezmer really makes clarinet sing like no other genre can!

You know, I never listen to Klezmer, but I see what I'm missing. Amazing performance.

Wonderful performance!
KenMaltz, I never thought that performing klezmer music or any music for that matter should be construed as political.
