Try getting a whopper of an engine and then take off like a helocopter, hehehe probably wouldnt work but i know the P-51's could hang on their props for a bit.
A souped up version like the ones they use in air shows can hang on their props indefinitely. I've seen them assume a nose up position, reduce altitude, then hover, then gain altitude. The shortest takeoff plane in history is the storch. When pointed into a strong wind, it can lift off the ground with wheels chocked. It's all about stall speed. The lower the stall speed, the slower it can fly and the quicker it lifts off.
And...... land.... land. C'mon LAND! Thats it.

Not unusual with this plane. I own one and this morning I flew at almost zero ground speed into a strong headwind.
