Hi, Im thinking about buying one of these canon xm2's but have been put off by it being tape. What program did you capture your software on and how did you get such a clean post production look? Is it also true that these cameras don't shoot in 16:9?
@MRSRecordsTV well yea the tape is a down side.. but unless u wanna pay 3 times the price for a prosumer camera with P2 cards (which btw is extremely exenpsive ) or SDHC cards, then tape is the solution, many tv station and filmmakers still use Tape as its still the standard in the broadcast industry. for this video i used Sony vegas pro 8 to capture and colorgrade, i'm not sure what u mean by clean post production look, all i did was adding warm colors, and this camera shoots 16:9
@oxzanofilms Thanks for the feedback. Well im getting one at a real bargain price and have vegas pro10. So thanks definetely agree with you. By the way your a very good video editor, the videos edited well. I just wondered could you help me? As I want to buy a canon xm2 but i want to know the drum hours? And the guy who owns it says he doesnt know. I heard to check it it appears as overall hours in the menu? Could you help me with this? If so please give instructions thanks!!
@MRSRecordsTV hmm... I dont know, how you should could check that on this camera, I just looked and couldnt find it. so cant really help u on that one :/
@ oxzanonofilms.. Thanks for your reply.. I've recently published my first book and want to shoot a film trailor to advertise it. I'm on a low budget, and have been seriously concidering buying the canon XM2... also the Canon XL1, But am leaning more towards the XM2.. Thanks again ...

Did you use any special adapters on the camera? This looks amazing! :-)
CyberTbe 2 years ago
No adapters were applied...
its the trick were you zoom in on the object and use your manual focus to get dept of field into your shot..
and Thanks... :-)
