@skilletREDfan It's very immature and stupid music, it's based more on following (mostly fashion) trends in an attempt to be unique(?) Mostly kids listen to it, which is scary because bands like BOTDF sing about the most vulgar and moronic things possible, 'cause they're leet and all that. Frankly, this music is just so much better and so much more intelligent.
Just recently I've been getting back into this album, and wow...I never really thought about how amazing this song was. It makes me so sad to listen to it, and I don't know why, it just sounds like this incomprehensibly tragic song..."hey comrade, what will it be like on the day we face our mortal life?".
Fucking good shit going beyond the truth of the mind if the music is understood. Get rid of the bullshit in life and for once open your mind. Things that shrooms teach people if u do it for that power of knowlege not just to get f'd up
all grasping for security, territory, power and gain is futile!
we came naked and leave it with less than that,no matter what you may have or are or want to be...fact !
there's only one life and this life happens in this very moment...if we think about it it's already gone and just past, not life anymore...everything else is just made up in ones mind.
I crapped myself when i read the lyrics to this song. I am going through some stuff in life and the lyrics to this song fit perfectly with how i feel right now. I mean the line "Have I learned to live moment to moment?" This is true... life is to short so enjoy the good you get in life. Because you really do not know what you have until it's gone. Amazing song. Amazing album. Amazing band!
I'm not in the habit of organising my life around entirely unprovable concepts, i would rather live with no answers and spend my entire life looking than assume something that may be false.
if you live your life with no answers, how sure of yourself will you be when you find truth? youll be ever ignorant. what little is given to you youll just discard.
Paul's lyrics and music really speak to me, its almost as if he captured my very beliefs about spirituality and life and put them into something I can listen to
My understanding is that Nunc Stans represents a moment separate from time in which we alone exist, whereas Nunc Fluens is the flow of time and life as an integral part of it.
I agree, Nunc Fluence it's the trace of infinite points between born and death and Nunc Stans is when you reach the end of your mortal life. You will be with nothing more than your soul and soul is just love. The ultimate love, the real Yoga learned by Krishna and teached by Vishnu itself.
if you view life on a purely biological level, then yes that's true. However, isn't it also conceited to think that your life exists only to perpuate your genes? Is it really so conceited to try viewing life with selflesness and caring? If humans are capable of more than simple biological fulfillment, why not strive to the higher plane?
I understand nunc stans not as an 'eternal moment' but more like a 'not yet'. A moment that we could refer to both as revolutionary and the re-establishment of origin.
This song is so powerful and sad, I love it. This is my favorite album at the moment. I think it is an absolute masterpiece and really shows a leap in maturity since Focus. Such a powerful song, just wow.
@Guthrucci I wouldn't call it a leap in maturity so much as an evolution. Aside from that, though, I agree; Cynic sounds much more "at home" on Traced in Air than on Focus (even though they were both absolute masterpieces).
One word to describe Cynic: Beautiful
