  • OMG OMG I know a great many things about this world/universe, and I did not know this about girls, oh my God!

  • omg this is sooo sad!

  • each person CAN make a difference. poverty is thrust upon these people while huge comapnies like monsanto make billions off their grief, making it impossible for them to survive sustainably without buying seeds over and over again from the company who has pattened the grains to NOT produce new viable seeds to save and plant again. Poverty reduces the parents to hopelessness, knowing the only way to survive is to use their daughters for currency. Every farmer makes a difference, so do you.

  • @marycozzens I agree; buy organic! :)

  • @darthkiller14 Why would you say that?

  • @WeirdsAGoodThing Because i can and i have the freedom to say it

  • @darthkiller14 Not good enough. Like me saying "I want to kill your family." Why? Because I can and I have the freedom to say it.

  • waaa

  • @darthkiller14 Wow,you're so funny.

  • @godmodes thank you but im not joking if i had the power i would do it

  • This is just....horrible. I wish I could give all of the people living in poverty food, money, housing, and education. Unfortunately, one 11 year old girl can't do that :(

  • @superninjasarah712 It is wonderful that you care. Thank you for that. Do you babysit? Maybe you could make a one time donation to this organization from money you saved by babysitting. Probably your parents would have to take your babysitting cash and pay with their debit cards on that website. That's how I managed to donate a little bit to charities when I was about your age. :) You can look up volunteer opportunities in your community. Maybe there are girls right there that need you.

  • @superninjasarah712 One organization that comes to mind is The Boys And Girls Club. Maybe you could volunteer with your parents or another trusted adult at a soup kitchen or a women and children's shelter or an orphanage. You CAN make a difference right now. :) Thank you for caring! :)

  • @superninjasara712 Please keep studying too and doing well in school and maybe you could get a good enough education to pursue International Studies or Women's Studies or Eco Tourism where you could be doing this work helping women in poor countries as your career. Do whatever speaks to your heart the most. :)

  • @LemursFriend I don't babysit. I'm not old enough. But I'm 12 now....and in 8 months I'll be old enough to babysit. I love children. Thats a good idea, by the way.

Also: I'd really like to be a journalist, but I believe that I'm going to be a mental therapist to help those with psychological problems because it's a much more productive job.

  • @superninjasarah712 hiya :) thank you... glad I could help. :) Those career ideas are really good! :) Maybe you could focus on becoming a psychologist and be a journalist on the side. :-) (in your free time when you are not working as a psychologist.) :) LOL Happy unbirthday today! (There is a song about unbirthdays in the cartoon Disney Version of Alice In Wonderland.) I think a lot of people these days have a main job and a side job. Really study journalism programs b4 giving it up.

  • @206amar1

Tewodros not Tedros ante zeregna agame.

  • WOW!

Don't worry about "Baryanegash", he's nothing but a brainwashed shabia boy who lost his family in the Eri-Ethio war, so in return he trolls against Ethiopia and Ethiopians.

Eritreans have been so affected by the war. Ethiopians just don't care anymore, see what are nation has done to those who invade?

    ETHIOPIA TIKDEM!

  • @WupeViasco

stop fooling yourself, why pretending to be WupeViasco or BahreNegash? i think it's a god-given gift to all agames and igrigna speakers to beg for food and pretending to be others.

  • @BIGHUSSEINTHEKILLER

    LOL,

What pretending? Who said I was "BaryaNegash"? He's a shabia I hate shabia's.

Amhara is the best, we dont get involved ethnic war with others, and if we do we are very secretive about it.

Dont wish for pain (especially from God) for those who are innocent, i hate shabias, weyanes, agames and gallas, but i dont hate the innocent ones, their are still good tigray people.

  • Kidan,

If you believe in yourself, you can be anything you want.

You just have to work hard for it.

    Go reach for the stars.

    WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST!!!

    From your Eritrean Admirer.

  • @RobynDolly .

Yohaness helping England to invade Gonder forced Tedros to commit suicide.

    Yohannes IV of Tigray

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yohannes was a sworn enemy of Emperor Tewodros II, and gave logistical and political support to the British forces who arrived to defeat Emperor Tewodros in 1868.

In gratitude, the British gave Yohannes, a large number of modern firearms as they withdrew following their victory at Magdala. This helped him to control the province of Tigray".

  • behare negash.... yerasu eyarerebet yesew yamasilal..... Lol

  • This vid must be from agame region... Beautiful people and culture.. The region is making progress despite what many shabia haters may say... Long live Ethiopia...

  • @ Bahre Negash, you are a desperate eritrean who suffers for being " hameshenetay ", sorry we can't help it. But one thing you have to know is you are adding being : the most scumbag, poor and hated people on earth, to your fathers italiano-segregato slavery history . guess what, 30 years from now, the only thing that will change is eritrea may not EXIST . Take my words seriously and get the f***k off Ethiopian videos.

  • @BahreNeGash

Why did Eritreans cowards run from Ras Alula?

Check BBC if you don't believe me...

  • Robyn,

Why would Tedros committ suicide for no apparent reason?

Where did you learn your history lessons?

Google "THE ENGLISH EXPEDITION IN ETHIOPIA", & find out why Tedros committed suicide.

  • @BahreNeGash

Did you remeber Ras Alula amputating the arms & legs of the traitor Eritreans who fought there brothers under the Italian flag?

  • AGAMES SEE HOW YOU BRING DOWN & HUMILATE ETHIOPIA.

"The UN and foreign charities are predicting a large-scale famine in Tigray,

Mr. Meles's home region, by November 2009. At least 6 million people may need food handouts unless more supplies can be found locally."

    The Economist

  • This silly video was posted by some aid agency engaging in "poverty porn". It's so easy to judge the rural poor from our ivory tower. Are you in their situation? Do u care to understand why they make these decisions for their childrn given their zero options? Do u really think that the girl can become a doctor in a country where the rural schools are terrible if they exist at all? The mother is REALISTIC and trying to set her daughter up with a boy from a good family with good farmland.

  • @simonlives

    Simon,,,

What's wrong with poor kids having dreams to go school, to make their lives better? FYI,,, Many notable folks around the world came from poor parents in rural areas with zero option. But, they worked hard & made huge difference for the betterment of their lives & mankind.

PS: Instead of discouraging people, please, try to see the best efforts of mankind, to realize their dreams.

    Thank You!!!

  • Can someone tell me where exactly has this video been shot ?

  • @KokobeBertukan

The VIDEO is shot in Tigray, North Ethiopia, the most dry arid constantly starving & warring region of Ethiopia.

  • @BahreNeGash

Thanks! but i would have liked to know wich part exactly (name of a town or a wereda !). :)

  • @BahreNeGash

Nobody forced Tedros to commit suicide.

Just like nobody forced Hitler to commit suicide, it's death or defeat.

  • @206amar1

AGAMES,,, YOU CAN NOT FOOL ALL ETHIOPIANS, ALL OF THE TIME.

FYI: Read these books written by great historians and they all say the same thing about Tigray/Tigrayans betraying Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan & Somalia for meager sacks of grains, as remittance.

    "Atse Minilik" By Paulos Gnogno

"Empress Taytu and Menelik II" by Chris Prouty Rosenfeld

"Lion by the Tail" by Thomas M. Coffey

"Haile Sellassie's War : The Italian Ethiopian Campaign by Anthony Mockler

  • @206amar1 , dont be mistaken here.... when tedros committed suicide, he was in full health and he did it deliberately...., however, the case of hitlor is quite the reverse..,and besides hitlors death is controversial, available evidence is not yet found. If we agree as well he did commit a suicide, by that time he was way way too sick, near to death and its not a big deal if he did suicide. However, tedros is true hero.., No one near to him.

  • @finvassi

Ever since Tigray betrayed Tedros & aided General Napier of England to invade Gonder, to this day there's is a death-valley in Gonder, NAMED "Tigrie-Machohia" (Tigrie screaming valley), just like there is "LIBI TIGRAY" (the evil heart of Tigray) in Eritrea.

Therefore,,, Agames, you ain't fooling any Ethiopian or Eritrean,

  • The people of Ethiopia have been suffering so much because of current government and the west. The Meles government doesnt care for its own people. The west thinks the Meles regime powerful enough to control the terrorist activity and maintain the needs of the west in the horn of Africa. The West has kept silent even though there is a clear evidence of human right violation in Ethiopia. Even the BBC doesnt tale the human right violation as much as reporting human right violation in Zimbabwe.

  • @Nigstesaba - I do not believe it is G'd's intention to solve for us what we have the power to solve ourselves. We, as one human to another, should solve what we can solve. Even if we cannot change the whole world individually, we should try everything within our power to be the change we want to see in the world.

  • these girls need our help

  • this made me cry. a lot of kids dont feel lucky that their able to go to school when theirs kids in other countries that cant because their family cant afford it or will not allow it. its horrible.... :(

  • Gabie (NFLcutie18),

Gabie, While you see reality from your heart, the politicians of Ethiopia could careless about these unfortunate kids, besides staying in power at all cost, spending billions of dollars to wage wars against thier own people & their neigbours, disregarding the daily life & future of these kids.

I agree with you it sad.

Thanks for expressing your good heart for the whole world to see that some one cares.

Keep it up kid, the world needs good people of your kind.

  • they come from over sea they are not ethiopian just like the pm m.zenawie

  • you can go over sea if you are not proud of you country.

  • Axum,

    1. Are you saying, helping the English mercenaries to invade Mekdella, Gonder, to kill an Ethiopian leader & loot Gonder, Ethiopia, is NOT betraying Ethiopia & Ethiopians?

    2. If Yohaness can NOT defeat the Sudanese, how did Yohaness defeated Egyptians, who were occupying Sudan?

    3. While Americans were NOT in the game, but if British armed Yohaness, why would the British arm Egypt to invade their ally, Yohaness?

    4. Are you defending Yohaness because he's from Tigray, just like you?

  • Just bad luck they got into this state.

  • ayo everybody commenting need to CHILL THE FUCK OUT! the past is gone its about the future

  • She wants to be a doctor so she would help other people unlike us.

  • im almost crying to see how rude everybody is about this. you are so right jemkls you are probably the only person who hasnt wrote the following: SUBSCRIBE! why only girls this is bs! @sidhfdidpsj@!i. or. they suck they should get a freakin life this is all fake. also. JESUS IS COMING!

that really upsets me why are people so idiotic

  • Imperialism is evil>

As I've said, all nations have committed evil acts.

  • Dolly: Please read Richard Pankhurst's books on how the English mercenary General Gordon lost the war against the Sudanese, forcing the English to conspire against Sudan, double playing the Ethiopian Yohaness against Tedros & Sudan, just like the English played the Irish Protestants against Irish Catholics, Scots & Wales, Indians against Pakistanis, Arabs against Turks & Persians, Jews & Kurds against the Arabs, English mercenaries criminals against Australian Aborigines, American Red Indians,,,

  • Firstly, just admit defeat because you can't even tackle the points I have raised. No man of history is innocent, every nation on Earth has committed evil acts. As I've stressed in my original post.

  • Dolly,,, Good try but blaming every human creed on earth is an English trick to justify the crimess committed by England all over the world.

    Nice try,,

  • Poor BahreNegash you are being whipped by RobynDolly.. Give it up old man every one is not gullible to fall for your divide and rule-passive aggressive rules. lol you are the stupudest fascist left over I have ever seen,

  • You are so wise. I ask that same question every time I see people like Kidan or the Eritran refugee in India who recently hunged himself from a tree . We sure got to help our people. Thanks for the wake up call.

  • I agree.

  • Common sense is clearly something you lack.

  • Gerrie Ligagam: Did you just say Eritrean nobles ? There is no such thing as Eritran Nobels. It is more like Eritran slaves. Your crazy ass keeps creating fake history. Why is that you are obssessed with stealing Ethiopian history and yet you call yourself Eritran? Banda, just answere the question>

  • Liggagam Banda.. Aye.. you takling about a history that the Ethiopians made. Now, you know you fools have no independent history. I know you are desperately trying to create one which is an impossible tansk. Again why is your name in Amharic Banda? Just answere the Question banda?

  • @GUMAONE his name is in tigrinya which is waaaaayyyy older than amharic.. educate my brother

  • @Miss160588 It is Bahri Negassi in Tigrigna..

  • BahreNeGash, anta Banda, why is your name in Amharic? Since you have Ethiopia so much?

Stop avoiding the obvious Banda. Answere the Qeustion, why is your name in Amahric?

  • You guys are talking too much.

You could you this time to do something instead of writing essays on youtube...

    <_<

  • If you Ethiopia can afford to purchase war planes, tanks, BM21 Staling Organs, Mortars, Machine Guns, bombs & guns to wage wars against Oromos, Ogadinis, Amaras & Somali Ethiopians or invade Somalia & wage endless 50 years of wars against Eritrea, Ethiopia certainly can afford to build schools & guarantee every Ethiopian child gain some education that detrimental to his/her future to go to school. The question remains, what's the priority of Ethiopia, to wage wars or build schools?

  • Kidu, God does NOT help people who does NOT help themselves, therefore, waiting for GOD to solve your problems is a day dream. You have a choice. You could be "AGAFARI" and cry "AKAKI ZERAF" or you could stand up to help millions like Kidan. After all, it's the "AGAFERTI" crying "AKAKI ZERAFF" and waging endless wars who destroyed the lives of millions like Kidan. You can NOT have it both ways. You either help your people or NOT. Waging wars has destroyed Tigray, already. What more do you want?

  • yes i did! i do believe that rather than trying to make you understand it is better to understand what makes you to be in the way you be, i see some real problem more than you and i can understand so it is better to step back and see what is the problem there is nothing you and i can talk from what i see is, but in the way i see in your profile in some things may be you post them or others it doesn't matter but what is the real feeling your

  • sorry Bahrenegash, it is just obviouse how you start talking about Agames i know other who are in this comment can't understand what you mean i

  • Kidu, While I've no problem responding to those "AGAFERTI" who bluff "AKKAKI-ZERAFF" in the name of Tigray, I respect many Tigreans like you who made so many sucrifices to lift their people from poverty. Many Eritreans have made the same sucrifices just like many Tigreans, to lift themselves up from war & poverty.

In the end, why young girls like Kidan had go through what their mother's had gone through? After decades of sucrifices, is this what the people of Tigray have to look foreward to?

  • by the way you can't call me AGAFERTI" b/c i am Tigray and Agame who born in Addis still living in Addis, and i am so near to say AKKAKI-ZERAFF in the name of Tigray b/c that is who i am, i agree one thing with you is Tigray people deserve a lot and i still

  • do believe God only can give the indemnity of all this time not people not you and not me b/c what they faced is more than you can give or you can contribute, by the way i love Eritrean just like any Tigray people not b/c of they are good toward to Tiray people just because we love people , we know that Eritrean face a lot of problem just like any

  • know then well do you know who they are i don't think so, we don't like what is going on in Ertrian b/c i was having friends and neighbors i don't think what happen is should happen i think instead of looking people what they miss it is better to lift then up to any society in the way you can in idea or anything even pray, if we lift one another i think God can give a way to make it things better don't look Tigray people in the way you are

  • looking that is the problem that is why i post my comment you and other people why can't stop become enemy and look around if Ertian lift up off course we can lift up too if someone African country up it is good for other African that same here if Addis up then we should see in good way, believe me God is working here we are fighting with God by

  • become bad one to another just lift us in the way you can then we will do the same then it gone be alright i don't think what happen to people in Tigray in African or anywhere is right, and Bahrenegash what happen to Ertian is not hurt only Ertian people itis also Tigray people too this is not my only comment so just try to change your altitude

  • i don't think we should go through our mother go through b/c their certification for us not go the same i don't think at any circumstances their is people like Tigray people who tested with fire and i have no word Negash to describe Tigray people not b/c of i am Tiray it is b/c of this is what it is they dedicate their life for me and for people like us, i trylly feel sorry about what is going on in a lot of ways any ways i hope you don't take it hard way

  • people have toward Tigray people in Ethiopia and what is the reason, i can't figure out what was your reason for being like this toward to us but concerning to my people they are positive toward to anyone as long as you don' t mess with them, it really shame we African cant' give chance to one another to be more i wanted to say more but it is west of time, i come to here to respond to your comment is only to inform you there are people who can stand for themselves!

  • ! be people who think and perform for the small, that is why our problem solved by people who have no any reason to be in the middle and what bad is we still can't able to teach our selves i hope i hope your people don't west thier time by specking aout Agame i think nobody have enough time to speck some else all of us need to know ourselves first after...

  • Kidu, If Agames are proud & self confident about being Agames, what difference does it make what Eritreans think about the Agames? Don't Eritreans have every right to feel & think about anybody, as the Agames do? Ethiopia spends billions of dollars to wage 50 years of war against Eritreans & many Ethiopian & Eritrean families are still paying heavy prices. But, instead of bickering with Eritreans, DON'T YOU THINK the Agames should build a better future for millions of people like Kidan?

  • Agame, Again, Addis's problem is NOT her husband alone. Her problems are morons like you & paranoid ethnic minority Tigrie government spending billions of dollars on purchasing weapons & too busy waging wars but could NOT defend, protect & guarantee the EQUAL RIGHTS of it's citizens, like Addis, to gain basic education & a life time opportunity. If the Tigrie government can protect the rights of Addis to go to school, her husband would NOT dare to stop her from going to school. Got it?

  • Bahere negash, in tjhe way you start your comment Agame of course you are Eritrea, so I think you cant judge Tiray region, all people know that the quality and the dignity of people like her, beside talking about the Tigray government buying a lot of weapons I think it is better for you to look after your country. Ever body knows unless if you dont

  • long, for me it sound like still the neighbors are still looking around your property, I think they should keep doing it b/c what time tell is this so like I said try to watch your self and your people and dont west your time this is not only for you and also for people just

  • want to! how Tigray region spend the past centuries I dont mind why Tigray region spending buying weapons if it is true if it is true I truly proud people who think like you is money and I dont think you and other people gone let us to be who we are and leave us alone. Tigray region spend a lot of difficulty naturally and manmade problems for so

  • CNN: What did you learn from the sea farm venture you set up in Eritrea in 1999?

CH: In my 50 years of science, my four and a half years in Eritrea were the most rewarding. I loved every minute of it. Most strong was what people really need is purpose and hope...and the sea. People -- I mean women and children -- would come to work at night, singing, carrying rocks on their head -- at their initiative -- to finish a pond, so that they and I would be pleased that it was done.

  • I used to go to work in the morning and just damn near cry. I loved the people, I loved the project, and the world will look back upon that one day as one of the really significant projects.

    Sowing the seas.

  • In may 1991 the former EPRDF rebeles entered Addis Ababa & other major cities in Ethi without any fights. Ppl were hoping a better Ethi would come out after 17 years bloody, repressions & prutal regime Coloor Mengistu. But unfortunately the leaders of Tplf has shown lack of leadership in the area of food security 4 its ppl & educating its ppl 2b self sustainable & building school & health clinics, & creating life opprtunites 4poor ppl. They are good on wagging war againest their neib's

  • Than building schools to it's deserving people. it's sad to see Ethiopia spending billions of dollars, purchasing military weapons from those false Messiahs who preach about civil/human rights, God, Christianity & democracy, depriving millions of Ethiopians basic education.

Is this the democracy & development TPLF achieved in 30 years of struggle, paid with Ethiopian blood? One wonders, if Hitler presiding over Ethiopia, could have done any worst than Ethiopian dictators do to their own people?

  • Bahre of illiteracy and lie, all the stuff you just mentioned against the Ethiopian regime that is for the Ethiopian people to sort it out, but what about the tigrinya regime in Eritrea? just in 1998 the tigrinya regime bought Arms cost $ 14 millions. and prior to that in Financial News paper on the 12/11/2000 expose the tigrinya governement that they receive in their Swiss account over a Billion American dollar. Thanx.

  • that is soo sad i want to help them

  • Ethiopian women are some of the most naturally beautiful women on earth.

  • It pains me to see that the extent of poverty the people of Tegray face is worst than any other people that live under normal circumstances. We are in the 21st century, TPLF paid so much sacrifices and yet, look the normal life of the people of Tegray. We need to work harder to alleviate their misery. I wish there was some effective action to stop this early marriage.

  • That's is not the reality of just "tigray" region but the WHOLE ethiopian rural areay regions quotidian life!. In this case, this womena/girl were fortunate enough to even releas einterviews...that's the reality fo the most pooreres amhar region, realyty, as weel as the one of oromo, gurage,s elelae, wolaita,,,That's the reality of the "remote" area's of Ethiopia: in this case the emphasis is given to Tigray region: but it is not the only one!

  • YeSabazer

Good observation but I have visited parts of Ethiopia not too long a go to say the extent of poverty in Tegray is worst than most regions. The circumstance has its own historical, political & environmental causes; but despite the resilient people of Tegrays hard work to overcome impediments, our people are not in good living terms. True, we have to work harder to improve the lives of all Ethiopians, but valid facts are self evident to prove.

  • what about the wollo region ? why you do not speak about people living around Lailiberla ? or Near Gonder or near the Blue Nile Falls,,,or in the east..near Jiggiga , near harer...

    Really there

  • Sabawit:

If you look up on the video clip (which is the topic discussion), it specifically talks about the widespread impediments Kidan and her community faces. I was not taking side one over another but share my personal view the way I see it.

With this in mind, while what you wrote is true, my comment remains valid. If I may add: when a person points to a problem in any part of Ethiopian, he/she is discussing about Ethiopia.

  • It is needed a machine to take our water from so deep -internal part of the terrain. It is needed a pipeline irrigations systems. However Why you do not speak about people living around Lailiberla? or Near Gonder or near the Blue Nile Falls,,,or in the east. near Jiggiga , near harer...

Really there so much poor regions in Ehiopia. that Tigray region is not the only one- What you can say is the "natural resources of that regiona re not so ample, is it , truly, very desert...but I think

  • lolz this is crazy it wouldn't have happened if the Europeans hadn't invaded Africa, think about it.

  • i agree

  • Agreed. Europeans fault 100%

  • i feel bad for all of africa.
