I ate dinner already but make me want to eat again. Simple dish but looks pretty good...i will l try to make this in the Summer since all of our locate stores do not allow to sale Water Spinach anymore due to health reasons.
@asPhyX410 LOL Thank you! I'm glad you notice because that was just one of the reason I wanted to do a video tutorial eheheh because those that know me, know well that it's hard for me to maintain my nails because I cook and clean often so the polish doesn't stay long. :)
This must be what they called " Mahope Bous ", or Buddhist Monk's food. hahahahaha.. no meat yall !!!! but it looks healthy though. I'll cook this when I dont feel like being a carnivore oneday. Looks very tastey, good job kjass.
@krashk00l You can add meat if you want. Some Cambodian add ground pork and soy beans to it. This is the very basic, from you just be creative and play around with your food.
@KhatiyaKorner Adding crispy bork belly is nice too:) or throw in some chili and soy bean paste. The cute little thai smurf who pulled my elbow asking if i needed assistance highly recommended to add some soy bean paste. I will post a video response or two with some cooking soon.
@KhatiyaKorner Right now I just have a poor quality camera on my DSLR and canon S90. But once i get a good quality. I hope to visit thailand in 2011 as well as open up a blog with restaurant reviews, recipes, videos from asia trips, photo galleries from around the world etc. The video respons is in development. :)
Cha trachouin is like one of my favorites, thanks for sharing. Funny, in addition to water spinach, I have heard it called swamp grass, water grass and Morning Glory. I like the name swamp grass, it fits this simple unpretencious little green veggie that is so wonderful with garlic, hot chili and oyster sauce, mmmm mmmm good.
@westislandkev I have heard Morning Glory and Hollow vegetable. This last one I refer to it when I order it from a Chinese restaurant. They usually make them with garlic sauce instead of oyster sauce. I like them both! But I've never heard of swamp grass although it does make sense especially for those who live in Florida. Sad that they ban this delicious vegetable but I understand.
@KhatiyaKorner Morning glory is commonly made in Thailand too. I tend to order it at my favorite hidden thai treasure. With that being said, the nam plah smells horrible, but adds a really nice savory kick to stir fries. Will definitely cook this for my gf/family.
@KhatiyaKorner I heard them use swamp grass in Cambodia and the way I saw it growing, it makes sense, but this name does not make it sound appetizing so you have to try it.
