  • A truly beautiful woman who will remain miles above those who exploited her.

  • most beautiful woman that will ever be

  • Earlier we saw MM as a sex symbol only. However when we read her bio millions lost their hearts on her. However Marilyn's true worth was realized only after her death.

  • Why millions love Marilyn ? She was a perfect woman with right mixtur of beauty, sexuality, sensuality and innocense. Keep Marilyn in a room along with other thousand ladies and you could make out who is Marilyn. She was not a dumb blonde and could very well understand her exploitation by studios and producers. A very kind hearted person with genuine feeling for the children, the poor and havenots. My eyes are wet now. There will be no second Marilyn.

  • Oh boy...those looks. Fabulous is all I can say.

  • Norma Jean was the best actress of the mellanium by far ,

Poeple tend to call her Marlin Monroe but they made her

do that im usre she would have prefered being called

Norma Jean as that was her real name.

thums up so more people remeber how amazing she was

and remember her real name Norma Jean.

  • this made me cry! its so sad the way she died! She will forever be the queen of cinema , Ladys and Gentlemen the goddess MARILYN MONROE!

  • scarlet johanson looks like marilyn a bit

  • Marylin Monroe - a tragic beauty. Constantly used, suffering mental illness, always feeling alone. RIP Marylin, I hope you found the peace you've always wanted.

  • SHE LEFT SUM GREAT MEMORIES AND ONE OF HER GREATEST FANS.

  • Marilyn Monroe her candle will always be burning.

  • Wow! never paid attention to the words until just now...heart~breakingly beautiful!. 'When I was just a kid' this song didn't speak to me w the pathos that it just did(actually brought tears to my eyes).Remember being more struck by it for Princess Diana's funeral (the revised version). The guy has genius/tho can't relate on other terms.Guess the 'language of the heart' transcends sexuality~both Marilyn's~and Elton's. Love is a universal language & Marilyn had a lot of it to give...if imperfectly

  • She was a bike

  • from a non-native speaker: what is the significance of calling someone a treadmill?

  • @UngKristen She was 'on' the treadmill... the Hollywood glamour factory, where studios saw their crop of girls as cogs in the money-making machine... and many got ground up by the machine & then spit out. Lol

  • @kindlydude thanks. i got it wrong from the beginning there i guess. i misheard it as "they said you were the treadmill"...

  • Did u know that she used to cut one of her heels so one leg will be shorter so when she walked her ass would look really cute?. DId u know that she wanted to be an intellectual actress named zelda zonk, that was actually the name she used when she checked-in in a hotel. Did you know that she used to get into a cold bath for half an hour before any public appearance so her skin would look perfect?

  • @bondisurfersuperhero and how do you know all this?

  • "From the young man in the 22nd row

Who sees you as something more than sexual".... RIP Norma Jeane, you are no longer alone

  • 49 years ago today august 5Th she was leaving for a better world and became a legend! RIP IN OUR HEART FOREVER Norma-Jean!

  • I love Marilyn. I am naming one of my girls after her. She was beautiful, gracefuL. And if people dare to call her a slut, then they are just idiots.

  • love u marilyn ur my idol love u and admire u so much!!!!~ rest in peace my beautiful angel!!!!~

  • I truly love this woman!!! She trusted people around her through her innocence but those people were not trustworthy. There is an innocence in her. a softness that God blessed her with. This song is an excellent tribute to her. I MISS HER.

  • Marilyn

  • Happy 85th Birthday Marilyn... June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962

  • Such a beautiful woman inside and out. But yet soo broken. Fame can really mess with you. And she already had a touch childhood and a tough life. And she died sooo young. But she left a mark in this world that no one will ever forget the beauty and the strength of this woman. Such an inspiration. Goodbye Norma Jean. I hope to see you on the other side along with my parents and cousin. R.I.P. :(

  • What version is this? its hard to find and i love this one best! im not referring to the Princess Diana Version, im talking about the goodbye norma jean version, theres this version and a version with a more softer piano sound...

  • elvis presley version is the best!!!!!

  • Giodbye Norma Jean

  • I absolutly adore marilyn god bless her RIP

  • Marilyn was the most beautiful girl in the 20th century. Actors now a days try to be look her all the time but it's a joke. I don't think any girl could ever be as beautiful as her. IMO.

  • Ever see her autopsy photo? Didn't even look like her. She looked like she had a tough tough life.

  • i dont see y people liked her so much......

  • @luvemusikk12

Because she's beautiful; there's so much more that meets the eye...

  • @luvemusikk12 Obviously Mr. or Ms. or Mrs. you are blind and why are you on this page to begin with? Oh, you might want to check you're grammar when you insult, just saying...

  • how could you say that marilyn was abused by Men and People. Not a contrary is just barely a question.

  • It's funny but viewing these pictures and listening to this great song, possibly Elton John's best, what keeps coming back to me is that I would have liked to just see her without makeup, 1:28 is what I am talking about. I'd just have said, "go wash that bleach out of your hair, lose the scarlet lips, and let's get down to it. She is such a goddess, because she offers the consummation of all desire in those eyes. One longs to see the true face behind the mask made for her.

  • the only reason he rewrote Marilyns song for Diana was because it was Diana`s favourite song he didn`t mean it to be disrespectful in any way.:)

  • Marilyn was a legend and she'll always be.

  • your right, this versions much better, personally i think its sacrillage to write an ode then to change who its sung for, but then again it is elton's song he can do what he likes i suppose

  • sei unica Marilyn!!!!!!!Nessuna di quelle che ci sono al giorno d'oggi ti può imitare.Riposa in pace,Norna Jean

  • magnifique réalisation sur la chanson de ELTON JOHN**en hommage à MARILYN MONROE**; les photos sont Belle*, quelle merveilleuse*femme ; quelle jolie chanson*..... j aime ! merci à vous et bravo** : )

  • she has the most beautiful smile ever

  • goodbye norma ? ....maybe no....

  • Marilyn Monroe is my all time idol.

People look at me strange when I say that, but people don't understand how wonderful of a person she really was.

No I'm not one of those teenagers who just say it to say it, I actually mean it.

She inspires me because she was around a size (Dress)12-(pant)8 and yet she is STILL one of the most beautiful women.

Shows that any size can be beautiful.

    Rest in peace Marilyn.

    We love you truly<3

  • @FangsUpFrances Check my videos of Norma's songs. ;) :)

  • @FangsUpFrances I like her too, but i don't like her character in her real life much. She slept wit anyone she met, she used men. However I like her voice and look, check my videos of her. :)

  • @JanaSklibova

No,contrary. Men and people abused her, she just get lost...

  • how could you say that Marilyn was abused by men and people?its not a contrary actually just asking.-evarluskipacific(Manila,Philippines)

  • @evarluskipacific

She was apparently raped as a child...

  • Seriously sad =(

  • Such a wonderful song! And now Elton has a superb new album The Union, with Leon Russell

  • Only 36 years old for someone as wonderful as Monroe. :(

  • Great

  • She really was stunning... talk about having "IT".

  • Comment removed

  • how did she die? and maybe she would've been happier if she knew that some ppl looked beyond her pretty face and saw her as more lk 4 her singing and acting instead of her pictures

  • Good song this is. Legend

  • Oh my goodness.. She was just.. GORGEOUS!

  • Love this song, wether it be the orginal for Marilyn Monroe, or the rewrite he did for Princess DI.

  • she was beautiful

  • This woman died of a heart attack induced by all the pills she consumed.

  • which elton john album is this grand version on?

  • 0:39 is it really Marilyn? I couldnt recognize her. This girl looks more like "look-a-like".

  • @JanaSklibova are you kidding? XD

  • Goodbye Norma Jeane ...

  • @ oioioi54 The Princess Diana Version was just an update from this one, of course this versionbetter as its an orgainal but i can argue its not less famous than the updated version

  • She really was something. Lot's of people that took advantage of her vulvnerability have been glorified & she was tossed aside in her last moments of her life and died alone.

  • @Rosemarie910You mean that she was killed by the Kennedy's everyone knows that now

  • holy shit, this song sucks!!!!

  • why is this version of the song less famous than the newer one..that one sucks compared to this

  • @oioioi54 The newer version was a tribute to Princess Diana. wheb she died. I guess Elton was older & maybe didn't sing as well as he did when MM died

  • @oioioi54 b/c the remake was for Princess Di, who did alot for many people. I love both versions.

  • @oioioi54 I also like this 'studio' version better than the 'live' version.

  • @oioioi54 Yes this original is one of the greatest songs ever written- so people thought of it for Di, as she was Elton's friend.

  • @oioioi54 Well I think despite this being an iconic song,it was sadly only moderatley succsessful at time of release,1973 i believe,,11 years after mm died. Princess di version was released right after she died to a grieving population. I like diannas version its sad but this version is the BEST,makes me teariy at times =)

  • @oioioi54 tell me how can the other version suck??? Elton was one of lady Di's friends thats why he re-recorded it in the first place

  • @oioioi54 because britain wanks off over diana for some reason

  • but i think that the fact she has gone too soon is good because if she were alive now perhaps all peoples would not consider her like the legend that she is today owing to wrincles

  • at 0:39 she kinda reminds me of scarlet jhohansen

  • yeah because scarlett and almost all stars like madonna gwen stefani, anna nicole or aguillera are used to imitate her

  • Comment removed

  • @ireallylovetwilight no. scarlett johansson reminds you of her.

  • she was so beautiful

  • Good to know:

The background vocals of Elton John's great song are sung by THE BEACH BOYS :-)

Carl Regenberg, member of the German Beach Boys Fanclub "California Saga"

  • Nope; it's the usual - Nigel, Dee, and Davey, per the DVD of the making of the album.

  • she is very beautiful

  • Maybe Elton's best vocal performance ever!

  • @nothinglike2day no man

  • @nothinglike2day and his bandmates' backing vocals are just exquisite, lovely and haunting.

  • They played this at my friend's funeral. He used to listen to this all the time....

  • Great selection of pictures. I loved it.

    ------Ellen

  • Wow...very well done. The photos are gorgeous. You did a fantastic job on this video...love it.
