  • can someone tell me the name of the song?

  • @omgprojects93 Burung Kakak Tua :)

  • @SmrtBusesLuver thought was a french song haha

  • so what's the message? whats the point of the 1st half of the video? and why must it be a "fatimah" who suffers from it when colorectal cancer is more common among Chinese males over 40?

  • @moribusmodestis first half of the video is to signify ong's desire for his and raj's good health, how close these two kakis are and to capture the attention of the audience. a "Fatimah" is used to signify that anybody can get colorectal cancer, even a malay female, what more a chinese male?

the message of this short is simple: those who are at risk, senior citizens above the age of 50, should go for a test and get treatment early, so as to enjoy a blessed golden age full of joy and laughter.=)

  • They are really Singaporean. :D

  • Aww! Cute parrot :D

  • It's the most cringe-worthy script for a health message. And it's not even memorable? Who speaks like that in Singapore. Your parrot is pirated?! Who wrote the script?

  • i find it quite touching actually esp when raj says" i still want you to laugh with me for a long time".

  • Really love the how the short film can be understood by the common uncle in the streets! Great job, Royston Tan!

  • Raj:Hey Ong, your bird wake up already anot?

Ong:Wake up already, same time same place.

Which bird u tokkin abt Raj? LOL

  • We can retire like them meh..... Siao... Slave to HDB debts... CPF zero..age discrimination... work as security guards... Look at the posters on MRT and SBS lah... " WDF subsidy, retrain our senior citizens". Uncle and Auntie smiling in the poster wearing security guard uniform or cleaning hawker table. #$@% Age 50 still slog to retire at 68... Boliao... art is art.. reality is reality...

  • How I see it is by how Royston Tan is trying to convey the message of the importance of checkups, that you have got family members and close friends who will weep for you if you fall sick to these diseases. I mean come on, at old ages, all you want is just to stay happy with your family and your close friends, no?

  • An entertaining short film at best that falls short of explaining what colorectal cancer is, what its'symptoms are, and just how fatal it can be. Moreover, the introduction of colorectal cancer into the storyline is abrupt and feels forced. Given more time (and possibly a better script), I'm sure Royston would have done a better job expanding the storyline a little more. Merely saying someone named Fatimah from block 331 was stricken with the disease isn't enough to educate and communicate.

  • At 6 minutes and 2 seconds long, how much is the Health Promotion Board paying Mediacorpse for the screening at prime time? And this is not the first and only 'short film advertisement' by government agencies! Is that tax payers' money?

Can a creative advertisement be both appealing to the public and at the same time doesn't cost the advertiser too much?

  • @MrOhmymoney This is the 'long' version that is uploaded only on youtube. The one that runs on TV is a shorter 2 min version

  • @celeric - There are two parts shown on TV. One is about 5 minutes long and the other one is probably the shorter '2 min version' part two of this advertisement that you saw. If both parts are screened at the same time, the advertisement is actually longer than 6 minutes 2 seconds.

  • @MrOhmymoney I've not seen the 5 min version on TV at all, only the two min version. Actually, i think HPB uploaded the 2 min version with 3 shorter advertisements, which I haven't seen on TV yet!

  • Good stuff, my favorite local advert this year! or probably since 2010!

  • Brilliant. My favorite local TV commercial this year. Vote for Viewers' Choice!!! =D

  • hey guys, can you re upload the film to the correct ratio, the screen seems not in the right ratio, it will be a pity if we cnnnot see it in its full frame:(

  • This video is damn funny! Hahahaha... Good work Royston!
