The start is not live.. it's exactly as same as the song, no changes at all.. I played them together, it's the same. When the guitar starts - it's live.

I don't know what makes the first keyboard solo so epic. From all Sonata Arctica's songs, this solo is my favorite even if it's not the most difficult one to play .
The reason you people think this is not live is because their lives sound so amazing that it makes you think this is from studio, but if you bother paying attention you can tell is live 'cause there are a few mistakes in the song and you can hear the crowd too... Hail Sonata Arctica \m/
btw i was checking sonata arctica in finnish wikipedia (using translator) and it appears an album for 2011 in their discography? :)

This is NOT live , man ...
First , where's the people shouting , singing and stuff ?
Second , live , with Tony making backing vocals of himself ? And no , they don't use playback .
Third ... Replica1888 , tell me what cd is that . I wonder if it was live , where have it been ... In an old house's bathroom ? This is just an older version of the song .
Second, The only part with Tony's back vocals is that echo near the beginning of the song. Playback could have been used to keep the impact on the song.
Thrid, the album is their "Songs of Silence" album released in 2002 (One year after the release of "Silence" so this isn't an 'older version'). This song is only available on the Asian releases of that album.
yea, seriously. everybody who's a fan of SA knows about the live in japan cd. i don't own it(i wish i did), but my friend has it.
by the way, you can also hear quiet talking at the begining, before the song starts. and the echo at the beginning could be Tony just saying it again, or maybe they put the mic on echo for that moment, which is perfectly normal.
haha yeah, I have that cd coming in the mail thanks to ebay. I got the badass cover too with their anime faces so I'll have that track on it too! yayyy :)

The intro seemed a bit too perfect :p the distorted guitar comes in and you can really feel the live feel to it, the energy is just amazing!
