  • fucking shut up and listen Buddy Guy

  • There should be no talk about race.

It's about the Blues and the music, helps us come together..Don't matter if you are white or black, it's had such an influence on music.

  • Omg

  • This is All-American.

  • Buddy guy, bo diddley, slash, jimi hendrix, bb king, robert johnson, chuck berry, prince, shall i keep going? Its called "blues" for a reason, not "white's" or "black's"

  • Damn. I was expecting "Hendrix fries Buddy" or maybe "Buddy rocks!" or maybe even "Justin Bieber is god!" But no. This shit is irrelevant. What the hell is this? An online Ku Klux Klan meeting?! No matter what race you are, you can play music. It has nothing to do with race. If you can play it, it belongs to you, it does not belong to any group of any kind.

  • the rest of you guys I cant say much for here, sorry

  • buddy rules....

  • agree

    crappy usa music

    no brain

  • it doesnt matter if your black or white. americans, your current generation sucks

  • @levyonfire2 thats not totally true either. there are some damn good artists from the US in this generation. you are stereotyping just like the nick dude, i will however agree that pop culture this generation is garbage.

  • @Nickhead87 I would recommend Gary Clark Jr. too, and then i will recommend you stop being racistic. Thanks :)

  • The fucking greatest!

  • why cant modern day niggers be like this... instead of lying on the pavement with bullets in their buttocks

  • @Nickhead87 man I totally agree with you. I got your back.

  • {actually ------- on ONE planet, not just under one nation}

  • and people wonder why we can't ALL get along like "brothers" under one nation.

The prior comments just prove why we can't ALL just get along and respect each other as well as their opinions.

How very sad indeed. And too think that these horrid comments were posted on a page that shows that everyone could come together with a common interest through a man that had too endure so much pain and sorrow in his life time, and yet brought us such beauty.

  • This video is weak ass for Buddy ...man hes just fuckin around go see him live..he will kick your ass!!

  • what is wrong with him?

  • @buddyrush1059

Hmmm... I actually just got some pussy about 5 minutes ago... from my girlfriend of nearly 4 years. On the other hand, YOU are on here trolling up a storm because you haven't had any pussy in years, I imagine. And if you can't think of another name other than palehorse... you're fucking lame. You can't beat my ass over the internet, so get over yourself. Nobody else is laughing but you. You sound mentally handicapped.

  • @buddyrush1059

So I guess pushing buttons and making beats takes more talent than any sort of stringed instrument. Just shut the fuck up, prick. You're laughing at your own jokes? Nobody else is. And stop trolling my videos. The others who have disagreed with me didn't. You're immature. Just another typical nigger acting like an animal.

  • @buddyrush1059

You're no accomplished blues player, just an accomplished fucking nigger. I never once said anything negative about Buddy Guy, just about the younger generation of black people who could care less about this kind of music and other sorts of talented music. All they're interested in is getting rich overnight and being goddamn thugs. Fuck the fuck off.

  • @Nickhead87 well.....ya got it all wrong first off who has 2 thumbs is black and hates rap plays guitar and loooves 70 rock THIS GUY!!! =D both of u sound racist especially with the n word dont worry it doesnt apply 2 me nigger means uneducated ignorant person of dark skin imo im highly educated and neither ignorant i think we as humans r discusting creatures we label each other judge one another and kick one another when theyre down ur comment made since but b a little more open minded >.>

  • @buddyrush1059

I am from a black area, mind you. And I fuckin' hate black people like you, too. You're uneducated, you can'll spell correctly or use grammar correctly. You're a typical, uneducated, black trash nigger. Fuck you.

  • man, i love buddy guys style. its beautifully raw.

  • @Nickhead87

When I see white guitarists who play like this, as well as any other kind of instrument, I always wonder what they think about the young white people of today and their crappy ass, untalented music. You'd be hard-pressed to find a single young white person who does not like heavy metal and doesn't have their eyes glazed over on meth ready to be trailer trash. Once this old breed dies off... that's it.

So easy to paint an entire race of people with the same brush, ain't it??!!

  • @dtuffgong

Exactly like how black people all think whites are redneck racists who hang blacks in their front yards. And most black people hate the man, the po-po, whatever. But they'll call the police as soon as they need some of their ghetto ass drama cleaned up.

  • @Nickhead87 i dont think that i have white friends....cmon buddy lets wrap this up.... but i know it when i spot it but i really dont care either racism is everywhere my in take?....most of my race r complaining cry babies who have never experienced rascism then when our community is bad we wanna blame the next race (white) Y? because of what happened 400 years what we fail to realise is that shit doesnt matter anymore yes it was mostly the white people that screwed over BUT!!!

  • @dtuffgong not true at all

  • @dtuffgong its easy to paint abrush. but hard to make one actually true. his is true. yours is not sir. dont be bitter and except it and then you will start growing up

  • @dtuffgong Nickhead87 does have a very good point and so do you. But, his is more valid because guess what.... The blues started with black people and grew with them and is pretty much in their blood.

  • @dtuffgong Except real metal=real talent just as much as this, meth is just bullshit.

  • @dtuffgong Not really you're obviously just another idiot!! The white youth of america don't feel they are owed something like the minority does. Notice I did say anything about a single race besides my own.

  • @dtuffgong hey I love this music. Im 14. This si the music that inspired me to be a guitarist and it molded me into who I am today. yet I still like Metal mucis. In fact I love it. Its called a variety. Does that mean Im untalented? Or that im on meth? This music inspires me in fact, i saw Buddy guy live when I was 12. So just because i like metal as well does not mean you have a right to make those judgement calls about me and those like me.

  • So "harbansjoeljr" totally missed my point. Just another typical sissy who can't stand anything a real person with a real mind says. Never once did I say all black people except Buddy suck with their music. Just the ones who think their crappy ass (c)rap music is the shit. They have no interest in learning a real instrument or being inspired by someone like Buddy. They could give a shit less. And to the black people out there who do play good and talented music, good for them.

  • @Nickhead87 my other comment was mistake i meant to say i have white friends but any way.....BUT we fail to realise it was a loooooooong time ago ......lets keep it in the past and do what the beatles taught us "come together"

  • wait a second buddy guy plays Blues?

  • True buddy of the blues! :)

  • Name of this song?

  • the blues.... something about it, its like every time i hear it i feel relieved and relaxed, i guess its a drug

  • i seen buddy guy on feb 26th 2011. best concert ive ever been to hands down. he was so entertaining, his guitar cut the air like a torch through butter. face melting. this guy is my favorite out of all the dying breed of bluesmen left. i hope one day i can follow these shoes and keep it alive. i dont care how many notes u can play in 5 seconds,my one note will reach into ur chest and rip ur heart out. theres no way anyone coudl hate the blues :) soul of SRV and style of buddy im set 4 life lol

  • When I see black guitarists who play like this, as well as any other kind of instrument, I always wonder what they think about the young black people of today and their crappy ass, untalented music. You'd be hard-pressed to find a single young black person who does not like rap and doesn't have their pants hanging off their ass wanting to be a thug. Once this old breed dies off... that's it.

  • @Nickhead87 Why would you talk about races? What's the point?

  • @todomusika

    Because I'm racist...? =\

Actually, I'm just sick of talentless bullshit topping the charts all while real music doesn't seem to see the light of day. It doesn't really matter, I guess. But I was just saying that I wonder what a real musician like this, who happens to be black, thinks of young black men and women in the music industry who have absolutely no talent. Not all, but most of them. They probably made more money in 10 minutes than he did in his whole life time.

  • @Nickhead87 they don't even know who buddy guy is, and they don't even CARE about all the people he influenced! is is beyond sad...

  • @Nickhead87 what a stupid arrogant and racist comment, how about you're square white ass looks up roy hardgrove, christian scott, jaleel scott, kenny garrett, and many other great talented black musicians who are playing shit just as important as this music is, and as for their "untalented music" please, rap music is another art form that expresses deep emotions, stop listenin to commercial shit, look up a tribe called quest, or dead prez. Buddy Guy would think you're a typical white dumb ass..

  • @Nickhead87 :(

  • @Nickhead87 that is so sad

  • @Nickhead87 dude that's so fucking racist, I'm black, I play guitar, and I do not sag my pants, smh

  • @Bman6401

And that's good for you. You are part of the small group of normal black people, not part of the ones who act like animals. People wanna call me racist, but I live around tons of black people who are scum, who are uneducated, who treat their kids like animals and treat animals even worse. Just ask me any question and I'm sure I'll have an answer for it.

  • @Nickhead87 Actually, you are the one who sounds like an animal right now. I'm black, and if we check our qualifications and paper publication, i can assure you, you will be outclassed.

  • @Nickhead87 small group? what would you define as "normal"? I am not trying to start a fight but there are alot of blacks who don't act like scum.

  • @Bman6401

Then you know or live around a lot of normal black people, whereas I don't. Normal to me would be not acting like an animal in public, not trying to be "hard", not acting like an ignorant piece of shit. The black people in my area walk across the street like damn turtles and EXPECT you to slow down for them. I don't live in the damn ghetto, but it's close to it. You can take these kind of blacks out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of them.

  • @Nickhead87 And I've heard of some White people that fuck their sons! They live over yonder though. *Points at suburbs*. What is everyone getting at?

  • @Nickhead87 Nice to see your Black concern. Now that I know you're incredibly intelligent about Black people and why all are how we are, I know once Buddy Guy dies my kids are going to grow up moving like slow turtles across the street. Thanks! Sincerely, Thug ass normal nigga.

  • @Nickhead87 Tosin Abasi?

  • @TheMusic2435

OK. What about him? Did you miss my point also? Why is everyone so PC and afraid to step on black people's toes? Oh... because anyone who isn't black is automatically racist anyway since "we" enslaved blacks so long ago. If all you're going to do is try to tear me down because of my own personal opinion, save it for someone who cares. I've heard of Tosin Abasi and I think he's a talented musician UNLIKE today's bullshit rappers who wouldn't respect an ounce of his talent.

  • @Nickhead87 oh and also my pants dont hang off my ass my gf is asain i dont like grape soda and fried chicken is not my primary meal of the day =D.....cheers

  • @sgtpepper19100

That's cool, bro. I never said ALL black people are ignorant and uneducated. There are many white people in my area who are that way and I make fun of them, too. I take pride in being able to communicate with people in complete, logical sentences instead of mumbling my words like uneducated people. I may sound racist, but I'm only expressing my opinion about the people who live around me. They're a bunch of DUMB idiots. You are an exception and a seemingly normal black person.

  • @sgtpepper19100 Fuck you get off it bitch the man made a valid point. Most of the young Blacks like that saggin ass-rapp shit str8 up! They dont appreciate people with real talent...and what have Whites got? Lady gaga and Justin Bieber...so whats your point againn?

  • @ONENIGGER2ANOTHER first off...i never said his point wasnt valid actually i said it was true read the comment again or the one above it second off u should find a better vocabulary all that cursing makes u sound like a complete idiot third many young blacks that live in the hood wont tell any1 they listen 2 anything other then rap because theyll either get beaten or made fun of cause theyre diffrent we need 2 make a difference maybe u should start by setting a better example

  • @Nickhead87 wow, you are a stereotypical asshole, I know very many black kids that love good music, maybe you just don't have many friends, I can see why

  • @Nickhead87 Sei do que você está falando, talvez ja tenha escutado ( Funk brasileiro). Se já,teve uma idéia do que é o pior lixo inventado depois da banda Calipso. Robert Johnson está revirand-se na sua tumba.

    Blues For ever ever...

  • @Nickhead87 Steady up, there are some really talented hip hop artists out there. They just get eclipsed by all the rubbish ones.

  • @Nickhead87 Im Puerto Rican and Native Indian and i cant stand being stereotyped as one of those people you just explained. Just cause my skins brown. SMH I love guitar and to everybody im trying to be white?! WOW I guess Buddy Jimi BB Les Lenny and Vernon dont count

  • @Nickhead87 That's a sad thing to say. I'm black and young and like rap but I love blues and jazz. There are still kids of all races who like this music, and rap has its upsides too, so please don't feel so down about the state of music today. These kids want fame, let them have it. They'll die sooner than we will.

  • @Nickhead87 I can agree with you on certain points but don't generalize all young black people as rap lovin', pants saggin', thug wanna bes. It's disrespectful. Besides, not all rap is bad. Most of it is now but still...

  • @Nickhead87 Black people ain't the only problem. White boy punks/emos whatever they call themselves can be even worse. Rapping isn't singing, auto-tune is dumb. But white people listening to people screaming about slicing animals open and raping people is pretty bad...

  • @Nickhead87 Your grand parents said the same thing about Buddy, you racist fucktard.

  • @Maafa1619

Whatever. We're all racists, bla bla bla. At least 50 other people UNDERSTOOD what I meant in the first place. Play the racist card... it's the easy way out. In fact, I was talking to a cool black guy the other night... oops, I said black. God forbid I mention a slight description about a person. Anyway, the guy was normal and cool and he wasn't another typical ignorant black person like most others where I live. I'm not racist. Just pointing out BIG differences.

  • I got in a fight the other day busking and playing some blue's This' dude said hey! No one lissins to rock and roll any more they all lissin to black man's Music "rap' and i said well Number one This is tthe blues and it's nor white or black it's not rock and roll or white peoples music it's Simply music and number two if your gunna go around preachin your root's know abot tthe Blue's

  • @Nickhead87 There are white people doin' shit music to you know

  • @MrRalexanderb that wasnt his point you fucking retard! really i shouldnt bother asking you to think before you speak because you are mentally impared

  • @ragingbull2001 Wow bro, I bet you're gonna do great in life with that attitude...

    Suiting username though

  • @Nickhead87 Hey im not black but this is completely racist. There are ton's of young white people that want to be thug's. Where i grew up there were more white kid's that thought they were gangsters than black kids.

  • @Nickhead87 May i recommend some Gary Clark Jr? You may be hard-pressed to find real music nowadays but Lord knows it's there :)

  • @Nickhead87 watch?v=2g254CZHsC4

  • @Nickhead87 His daughters a rapper lol.

  • @Nickhead87 Gary Clark Jr. Theres hope in him.

  • @Nickhead87 you're stereotyping a whole race based on no facts, you are wrong and blind sir.

  • Regardless of race nationality etc.Music can speak any language with any race.

  • blues are not about how much you know and how good you are on the guitar and playing the most complex thing t impress people.. its simple and honest just like true emotions so the greats put there actual emotions into there playing.... the way i see it is if your a true bluesman your givin 7 notes to describe yourself lets here what you have to say... and buddy guy says it nice

  • god i love the blues... so simple to learn and play yet only a few have mastered it

  • So great. And he's wearing a SRV t-shirt on top of it? They loved each other like father and son...

  • Even those of use born in Malibu can have the blues. No need to be ghetto. I got the Maliblues...

  • @DexterHaven49 Don't go there. Let's just enjoy the blues. Anyone can have the blues, true, but each person undergoes a different journey that takes them to the point of blues.

  • jimi hendrix é o verdadeiro chupim do Buddy Guy

essa cara tem o blues na alma

    eterno Buddy Guy!!!

  • omg im 11 and have the EXACT same guitar! exept with a brown neck

  • @pedrobr88 1: i think you mean rosewood fretboard 2: we don't care

  • fail, lame

  • buddy guy dont play the blues....he IS the blues!!

  • actually in here I don't like the sound...maybe it is the amp, I don't know...

  • the first 20 seconds is fucking amazing.

  • when music had soul....

  • i love rock n roll but most people don't know that although the greats like eric clapton, jimmy page, slash, etc have great styles and sound, it isn't entirely them but the old school bluesers who are the roots of the fruits of music

  • The Blues isn't about sadness. It is about saying what you feel. And to be honest I feel happy when listening to the Blues, so yeah Blues involve all shorts of emotions and situations. And plus when you have somebody else to play with it is way better so NO you don't have to be alone to play them.Peace!

  • @Bearmatix I'm loving these words, thank you..

  • Hell yeah. Beautiful stuff. Thanks for sharing.

  • fuck, guys, stop replying to the post I made 5 months ago. The conversation has long since ended, and I'm getting pissed off at the notifications Youtube keeps sending me with your asinine comments.

  • Too bad you cant get this strat anymore..

  • now, 33 suks!

  • tab it

  • anyone know what tuning this is in? I'm not sure if it is in standard or not and don't know what tuning buddy guy uses

  • @thegreatfatsby1 standard tuning

  • Nothin better than them blues it is true music from the heart

  • The Blacks invented this here music and we thank em for it. House, Waters, Johnson, Wolf, the 3 King's Albert, Freddy, B.B., Broozny, Sumlin, Rush, Montgomery, Crayton, Fulson, Collins, and our man here...Buddy Guy.

Blues is world wide and it is the grand daddy of rock and roll.

  • Un Grosso como decimos en Argentina... Amazing...!!! great!

  • Anyone can play the blues, not all can put true feeling behind it tho.

  • I can't say that i'm a fan of buddy. I've just never liked his tone or his playing. I still have a truckload of respect for the guy (pun intended) though.

  • DAMN! I don't know who would say this sucks. That is some bad ass shit! Go listen to Malmsteen.

  • rubbish!!

  • As the video starts, in only 30 seconds of watching you get the greatest blues licks ever played

  • That's Buddy's trademark tone

  • wow good playing but that's some shitty tone

  • 31 people don t kwow what is good music

  • @guillaumeloprib lol and 1 person doesn't know anything about tone.......StratFeel. He must be a confused gibson player who thought putting strat in his name would make him cool. Too bad cool has nothing to do with tone.

  • Comment removed

  • Was he recorded with D.I.?

    WTF

  • He rocks. If he wanted,he could shred the shit out of his guitar. He's a cool man.

  • This is great , roots of a lot of music, great.....

  • I saw Buddy Guy live on May 28th, and it was beyond belief. You could feel the Godly essence in the room. I wasn't around for when blues was popular but I soo wish i was. I'm a guitar player and Buddy Guy was my inspiration in the blues

  • The real innovator behind Hendrix's music

  • theres only one, Buddy Guy!

  • 29 people cant appreciate great music

  • This is what is so great about playing guitar. Soothing.

  • I'm gonna make this wake up music on my alarm on my phone.

  • I love playing Gibsons, but Guy make that fender sound trying it for the high range effects that I hear in his music.

  • @ahughes6 you really should try a strat or tele, i like using gibson and fender because they both sound completly different and can do all kinds of things

  • hey

  • I love his strat that hes playing in this video..I wish I coulve bought one

  • this guy doesnt even need a band he can jsut go on stage on his own this was awesome!

  • Awesome

1:47 notice he's wearing a Stevie Ray Vaughan Tee!

  • why can't this be the soundtrack of life?

  • @EOSRI1 No one's telling you it isn't...

  • Son of a thousand I swear you can not play so well, you make me stop ortho hairs, starting a thousand pedazoss my head, oh yeah . . .

  • nicee,, i got the same guitar,, accept the fact mine is fake:) but that doesnt matter to me;)

  • did he miss a note at 2:11?

  • @koolkidc looks like his finger got stuck on a fret maybe. but yeah it happens even to the best. How many do you miss everytime you play. Ass Hat.

  • You can say all you want about how "simple" or "easy" playing the Blues is. But it's still the only type of music you can play on an electric guitar without any other musicians.

The Blues is about being alone, that you need people or friends, and they ain't there. It's about not having something that you loved. It's about loss and heartbreak. It is misery, it is woe, the blues is sadness. And anyone that thinks it's about playing the same few notes over and over can cram it in their cram hole.

  • @Kangaxxter

yes, you right there, most blues player cannot read music so it have to come right inside.....so the scales becomes useless. You have to be blue to play the blues...

  • @Kangaxxter

Its a fair bet those that criticise this have a definition of good guitar playing, it goes..........widdly widdly weeeeee, quick scale run....cue corny devil voice..........widdly widdly wee...scale run.....frantic drumming.........widdly widdly wee (the guitar player feels outdone) scale run but super fast with a widdly wee sneaked in.....now the devil voice gets louder because he cant hear himself (and feels outdone.) The band departs. A solitary turd remains on the stage. Steam.

  • @outofslumber It's sad but it's so true hahahahaha

  • @Kangaxxter

"But it's still the only type of music you can play on an electric guitar without any other musicians."

Love your enthusiasm, but that's not true. There are many ridiculous solo guitar players out there. Check out Martin Taylor, Joe Pass, or Barney Kessel solo. As a solo guitarist myself, I don't say this as an argument as much as to possibly open some doors for you.

  • @ThePickledPrune

Hey. Cram it in your cram hole.

  • @Kangaxxter AMEN!

  • @Kangaxxter the blues isnt sad because... its happy... to let it out.... its happy to tell the truth.....

  • @Kangaxxter i cant agree more!

  • @Kangaxxter it could be about some inner unnamed emptiness

  • @Kangaxxter

Dude you can say the same things about other music, like metal or something.

  • @Kangaxxter Well said. And for anyone who thinks the blues is "simple," then tell me why Steve Vai is unable to play a decent blues solo? (he himself admits he can't play blues). The deepest music we have is blues, and that comes from gospel. Most rock is nothing more than a derivative of blues. As for jazz, truly beautiful, but even jazz players, when they really get down to it, play a blues to show you how they're really feeling.

  • @Kangaxxter the blues is NOT SADNESS.

however, I do understand what you are trying to say.

  • @Kangaxxter People that say the blues is easy to play are not playing the blues. their just going up and down the pentatonic scale thats playing a scale not playing blues. I know you know what i mean.

  • @DrNoth great blues gets to ur soul... music reaching ur soul to the deepest level is the most difficult thing a musician can achieve..imo

  • @Kangaxxter hahaha you are such a NOOB! this is rubbish -- all of it!

  • @Kangaxxter "But it's still the only type of music you can play on an electric guitar without any other musicians."

I would have expected something smarter than that to come out of the mouth of a blues fan/player.

  • awwwh , the sound of fender ! I love it !

  • FYI - this video is bits and pieces of his teaching video-- i.e, he never performs this as a song-- and oddly, it may be one of the best blues-non-songs ever-- Buddy basically uses the minor scale of the relative major right over the progression, -- and he uses parts of the scale from all five positions-- this means, as I have advanced for some time -- the BLUES are constituted from the major scale flatting the 37 almost always, and also using the flatted 5th and the major 3rd freely --thats it-

  • you can only play blues if you are feeling blue...

    that's the best way

  • budy just playing lol

    just the blues

  • Blues is the easiest type of music to play and the hardest, if that makes any sense. By that i mean the technical difficulty of blues is not high, it's slow and everyone and their mom can play that scale, but blues deff. requires the most emotion and feeling of any music genre, making it the hardest music aswell.

  • @SensiRootsBoy blues is so much more than the minor pentatonic scale, to play easy blues is easy, to play hard blues...well its hard lol. this is not a good example of buddy guys skill level at all. look at joe bonomassa or srv, blues aint easy

  • can this amazing sound be acquired without fender?

    Because, i have no fender...:d
