  • Um, did he say "ladies and cinnamon" at the beginning?

  • Can anyone explain why the guy in blue started randomly dancing after he came out?

  • haha... i think Lance Russell was thinking .."who behind the curtains came up with this crap"? lol

  • Let's not forget Tugboat, Typhoon and the greatest of these was none other than the Shockmaster! Look that up funniest ever!

  • Carl Fergie was a chump jobber in Florida before this. He got squashed on a regular basis on tv. King Fergie indeed!

  • the dude in the back looks like the fat lady of the opera.

  • That disrespectful, prejudiced journalist Lance Russell should stop interrupting his highness.

  • Who the hell is Goliath? Carl Fergie was also a ref in mid-south.

  • Tugboat, Typhoon

  • The Great Goliath had worked around smaller feds in Texas before coming to Memphis. Fred Ottman (aka Tugboat, Typhoon) was another part of the group and wrestled under the name Superstar Bubba. (He was known as Big Bubba in Houston but changed it due to confusion with Ray Traylor's character.) The remaining members were Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond (AWA's Bad Co), Ron Bass, and Downtown Bruno. This gimmick ran on the heels of Prince's "Purple Rain" movie.

  • Thanks. I knew I saw him somewhere.

  • Actually, it's Don Bass. A longtime Memphis wrestler.

  • DON Bass!!! My bad.

  • Brick was always pretty good on the stick. One of my favorite lines from him was: " I haven't even opened my can of kickarse but now I done gone and ripped the lid off".

  • I faithfully watched Championship Wrestling during this time and don't remember it. I guess it was so bad I blocked it out.

  • "King" Carl Fergie is the one in the crown, he was a long time jobber and referee with several frederations and Jerry Lawlers cousin. I'm stumped by Goliath myself.

  • Fergie was also a Mid Atlantic Tag Champ with Ox Baker. I will never forget a match he had at the old Charlotte Coliseum. His jaw jacking with some little old lady in the front row was priceless.

  • who was the guy in the crown and the dude dressed up in the amoor and helmet

  • who was the guy in the crown and the dude dressed up in the amoor and helmet

  • Go Shockmaster, it's your big push, go Shockmaster,it's your big push...

Good to see the Singing Cowboy, Don Bass, with an appearence. (or as Lawler called him when he shaved his head "The Singing Onionhead.")

BTW, good question, Lawlersarmy, who was Goliath? I used to know, but I forgot.

  • At least he didn't trip when he came out.

  • O.K., I think I could have easily forgotten "The Constipation". Diamond and Tanaka were destined for better things as Bad Company with DDP in AWA. Tugboat sunk quick in WWF. Cousin Carl (Lawler's flesh and blood), might be worse on the mic than Nick Gulas was in the ring, otherwise he could have been big. Who was Goliath? I don't remember seeing him beyond this? And GShea, PLEASE no more Bruno videos, I'm trying to remember the GOOD times.

  • @lawlersarmy Tugboat became Thypoon and was former WWE tag team champion. he spent several years in the WWE . He worked main event there many times.
