  • WTF was wrong with him at the beginning of the video? Looked like he was about to have a stroke.

  • software doesnt decompose in nature, like some king of fisical object, so there is some allready dead people gaining money with old copyrights, how odd is that? Today we live in a selfish society and i feel good to see people like Stallmam supporting the idea of free software, that can be supported by helping funds, thats what i do, when i like a software like Ubuntu i donate some money to it and i fell that i am supporting somehow the real work that i am using in real time.

  • @starspace Not dead people, but rather the heirs to their estate. Wouldn't you want your children to own the rights to your life's works?

  • @GalacticGuardian I think that whatever you or i may want is irrelevant. The real question is, should your children maintain ownership over the rights of something they didn't produce themselves?.

  • @grama47

    Yes.

If I leave my possessions to my heirs, then everything that is mine becomes theirs. So, yes.

Do you believe your children should inherit your home after you die? They didn't build nor buy it, after all, but they have the rights to it. I believe that you believe in inheritance rights. Therefore, the same should apply to ALL of your possessions, and that would include your life's works.

  • @GalacticGuardian But should inheritance rights actually exist? [i'm not saying they shouldn't, but i think it's an interesting thing to think about... we are so used to inheritance that we take it for granted, so we never stop to question it], another question would be, should inheritance rights be applied to "everything"?, we already have differences when it comes to owning a physical object and owning an idea (copyrights and patents have time limits and other conditions physical objects dont)

  • A little before 6:00.

  • That blew my mind.
