  • looks quite a bit like our transport museum in Luzern, a place for train fanatics. one of those places that you have to see if you're in Chattanoga. and thanks for bringing us that weren't there !!! take care !!!

  • There were several other places that I didn't even know about until I saw other people's videos from ST3. I had to check out this one for myself just before leaving town...

  • Pretty cool trains. I don't think I would like to sleep in them though unless they had everything a nice hotel had. It looked like a really cool place to explore. You must travel alot, I have watched lots of your vacation vids.

    Lauren:)

  • It was a fun place... I go on about two trips a year, but when I go I take a lot of footage and spend a whole year or more making videos from that trip. It gets complicated because I don't always post things chronologically, preferring to work on what I feel like working on if I have an idea for it. I may put up a video that took place yesterday today, and tomorrow I might post something that happened a year ago. It looks like I'm always on a vacation, but I'm not :)

  • :0)

  • :) :)

  • It's an unusual concept, but I guess if you were in the area, it's a novel place to stay. I would hope they've upgraded the accommodation inside the trains. You wouldn't want to pay hotel prices to stay in a regular sleeper carriage, eh? :-)

  • Exactly :)

  • I have toured The Chattanooga Choo Choo a couple times in the past. Of course, I did not back in October while on our visit. Hope you're well....TAKE CARE.

    :-)

  • I don't know if I'll ever get back to Chattanooga even though our brief time there was so fine... I guess I had to seize the opportunity and I was not disappointed :)

  • That kid got a great Train experience! Nice color for a rainy day too! love that lil yellow trolley car!

  • I was just like him at that age :)

Bright colors work even better on rainy days...

  • That is a very beautiful facility. I was very impressed with the lobby of that building.

  • It's just like stepping back in time a hundred years... I'm not at all disappointed either.

  • It was a maids cart lol. The train carts there serve as hotel rooms.

  • Yep! It certainly looked out of place :)

  • Very cool. Thanks for the tour. Saved me a lot of walking. :P

  • You owe me :)

  • Awesome. We have a train museum that has stuff like that but no sleeping there.

  • I'm sure that museum is very interesting... I enjoy looking at exhibits :)

  • Reminds me a little of the Old Town section of the museum, except with less people....and way more trains! Cool

  • It's been a while since I was down at the museum... I'm still waiting for them to put John Lennon's Roller back in the lobby...

  • Not very crowded that particular day.

Never seen a train converted into that before. What a marvelous idea, and nice way to make use of something rather than just discarding it or letting it rot.

  • It was a rainy Monday in October... I can imagine the place being a lot more lively in July and August when the kids are out of school... Actually, I enjoyed the lack of crowds and noise on my visit, but I sure am glad that little boy showed up on the locomotive... His timing was perfect :)

  • That's Cool Andy! I had heard of that place but never saw it. It would be cool to stay in one of those cars. I love trains and that train reminded me alot of the train that I grew up with. It's the train that got me interested in 'em! It's called Tweetsie. There's vids of it on YT! =) Check 'em out. Peace To Ya Friend. ~Michael~

  • Trains are fun... I remember taking a train from Frankfurt down to Klagenfurt in Austria... I will have to dig up the pictures from that trip and make a slideshow someday :)

  • nice vid thanks

  • Welcome!

  • I loved this little tour! Did you ever get a chance to see the rooms inside the trains?

  • I knew I forgot something! Looks like I will have to go back...

  • Well that's cool!

  • Definitely!

  • That's a nice concept for a hotel, indeed!

  • It certainly is unique... I don't believe anything quite like it exists anywhere else...

  • yay!

  • Hellyeah!

  • Thats very cool. I dont live too far from TN. but Im still pretty new around these parts.

  • Now I have been to TN from two sides, Memphis and Chattanooga, but I have never been to Nashville...

  • Is this the end of the line?

  • To go any farther would be to crash through a restaurant, continue through the lobby, and end up on the street...

  • ooh I like watching train wrecks!

  • i wish we could of stayed there instead! I should of made the effort to visit while I was there.

  • Well, when I miss something on a trip it creates an excuse to go there again. I missed all those caverns and gondola rides that everyone else went on :)

  • I was in Chattanooga once, but didn't go see that. I wasn't there for very long. Thanks for the tour!

  • It was my last morning in town, and I figured I may as well see it after coming all this way...

  • Nice.. :) Didn't know it was a place, I just thought it was a song.. :0)

  • Pardon me boy

Is this a chat and do the glue do?

  • Once a glue sniffer, always a glue sniffer?

  • I knew that there was probably a train station because the choo choo had to end up somewhere if it was going to Chattanooga, but I didn't know that there was a whole big vacation complex there :)

  • what a cool idea of having the coaches as guest rooms, I saw a Coach in Rochdalee once which was a restaurant,

    SPRINKLES

  • Old railway cars set up as diners have been around in the US since about the 1930s. It's a long time since I've seen one, though... I will be sure to have a camera next time.
