looks quite a bit like our transport museum in Luzern, a place for train fanatics. one of those places that you have to see if you're in Chattanoga. and thanks for bringing us that weren't there !!! take care !!!
There were several other places that I didn't even know about until I saw other people's videos from ST3. I had to check out this one for myself just before leaving town...
Pretty cool trains. I don't think I would like to sleep in them though unless they had everything a nice hotel had. It looked like a really cool place to explore. You must travel alot, I have watched lots of your vacation vids.
It was a fun place... I go on about two trips a year, but when I go I take a lot of footage and spend a whole year or more making videos from that trip. It gets complicated because I don't always post things chronologically, preferring to work on what I feel like working on if I have an idea for it. I may put up a video that took place yesterday today, and tomorrow I might post something that happened a year ago. It looks like I'm always on a vacation, but I'm not :)
It's an unusual concept, but I guess if you were in the area, it's a novel place to stay. I would hope they've upgraded the accommodation inside the trains. You wouldn't want to pay hotel prices to stay in a regular sleeper carriage, eh? :-)
I have toured The Chattanooga Choo Choo a couple times in the past. Of course, I did not back in October while on our visit. Hope you're well....TAKE CARE.
I don't know if I'll ever get back to Chattanooga even though our brief time there was so fine... I guess I had to seize the opportunity and I was not disappointed :)
Never seen a train converted into that before. What a marvelous idea, and nice way to make use of something rather than just discarding it or letting it rot.
It was a rainy Monday in October... I can imagine the place being a lot more lively in July and August when the kids are out of school... Actually, I enjoyed the lack of crowds and noise on my visit, but I sure am glad that little boy showed up on the locomotive... His timing was perfect :)
That's Cool Andy! I had heard of that place but never saw it. It would be cool to stay in one of those cars. I love trains and that train reminded me alot of the train that I grew up with. It's the train that got me interested in 'em! It's called Tweetsie. There's vids of it on YT! =) Check 'em out. Peace To Ya Friend. ~Michael~
Trains are fun... I remember taking a train from Frankfurt down to Klagenfurt in Austria... I will have to dig up the pictures from that trip and make a slideshow someday :)
Well, when I miss something on a trip it creates an excuse to go there again. I missed all those caverns and gondola rides that everyone else went on :)
I knew that there was probably a train station because the choo choo had to end up somewhere if it was going to Chattanooga, but I didn't know that there was a whole big vacation complex there :)
Old railway cars set up as diners have been around in the US since about the 1930s. It's a long time since I've seen one, though... I will be sure to have a camera next time.

That is a very beautiful facility. I was very impressed with the lobby of that building.

It's just like stepping back in time a hundred years... I'm not at all disappointed either.

It was a maids cart lol. The train carts there serve as hotel rooms.

Awesome. We have a train museum that has stuff like that but no sleeping there.

I'm sure that museum is very interesting... I enjoy looking at exhibits :)

Reminds me a little of the Old Town section of the museum, except with less people....and way more trains! Cool

It's been a while since I was down at the museum... I'm still waiting for them to put John Lennon's Roller back in the lobby...

Not very crowded that particular day.

MrRandomWritings 2 years ago
To go any farther would be to crash through a restaurant, continue through the lobby, and end up on the street...
fehquig 2 years ago
ooh I like watching train wrecks!

i wish we could of stayed there instead! I should of made the effort to visit while I was there.
