i am a filipino and i cook adobo very often maybe 3 times a week but when i saw your chicken pot bbq its pretty much simillar this would be a version of my sweet adobo but i tried putting cayenne powder and spanish paprica to this recipe of yours then man!!!! i had a big problem after serving it to our family reunion i cooked 15 kilos of this recipe of yours putting a blend to it then all my relatives wants this recipe. thanks bbq master...ohh and by the way i am one of your biggest fan...
Its basically adobo "man" its just a different way to cook it, similar ingredients, and theres a variety of ways to prepare adobo chicken, regardless the name or who makes it. The dish is from an influence of American, Arab, Portuguese, Spanish, and Filipino in a long history of trading imports and cuisine. Thanks for your concern for my statement though, I feel touched.
idk man ive never seen adobo made like that n i have tryed a lot of adobo, the only ingredients i have seen used in adobo in this vid is is the vinegar and soy sause everything else point a different direction and thats a lot of soy and not enough vinegar
What a great recipe!!! This will be perfect for me, I work outside alot and don't always have time to stand over the grill. My husband will especially love the eggs, I would have never thought of that!
Thanks for the recipe, did it this past weekend and everyone enjoyed!! Thanks for making it easy to follow. Yall have a good presentation that makes anyone want to try cooking. Can't wait for the next recipe!!
wow, I'm cooking your recipe on the bbq at the moment & my daughter keeps sneaking the sauce out of the pot while its cooking, it's obviously very good, she is fussy!! Big ups to you guys, I'll be subscribing 2nite...keep up the great work!
I'm tellin You!!!!, you guys need to be on TV, cable or something!!!!!, keep up the damn good work. We are going to do a big ass BBQ at Camp Delmar at Camp Pendelton Ca, and you guys recipes (plus my own, I can throw-down too) are gonna head-line right next to the ice cold beer.
mmm..in philippines we called it Adobo...its really yummy..but for you PitBoy the difference is you made it like a BBQ..its more delicious..thx for sharing..more power to you
I will be trying this over the weekend. Thanks for all you do Pit Boys. I am one of your biggest fans....Bobby.. Keep making these videos and always stay safe!
BBQ Pit Boys, Nice Job. Look forward to trying this recipe. Bob, glad to see you're breaking in the new grill...( background ). Saw you all using it in the end of the video. Awesome !
well pitboys ya done gave me another recipe to try this weekend,my neighbors think im a grill master but i tell them to go on youtube and check out barbequeweb channel and they can do exactly what im doing
I happen to stop by the "pit" right after this was cooked and got to taste this dish hot off the grill....Let me tell you the chicken was out of this world and the eggs....a whole new meaning to eggs! Glad I popped in, thanks for sharing the grub! As always, the good ole home time "pit" at it's best!
Hmmm.. Soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, bay leaf and garlic? Sounds like someone's making the classic Phillipino dish Chicken Adoboe on the grill :). Never thought to cook it outside on the grill, but the flavor is amazing when it's marinaded at least overnight.
I just made a similar comment not realizing you made it. My badd!! On a side not, "Philipino" is w/out the "H". And also when you are talking about the culture, you use Pilipino. And when you are talking to someone who is, its Filipino.
"....full of flavor... in fact, let me apologize right now right in front of you.... i'm gonna taste it a little bit.........HMMMMM-hmmm! Man, that's guuuuuud!"
Thanks for such great work, Pit Boys! Always a pleasure to replicate these fine recipes!
It looks pretty good, for some reason I have been thinking that would also be a pretty good chicken soup with some vegetables added to it and the eggs cracked and mixed in
i have tried almost every recipe you make. because i cant bbq where i live i broil or bake it and it always turns out good too. cant wait till i can bbq again.
Amazing grace Indeed!
Great simple recipe & good eating.

i got to try this but not sure about the eggs. cant you get salmonella?
bradyischamp 2 years ago
he kept the eggs for like an hour in that heat, pretty sure they are hard boiled and there's no risk of salmonella.
jerryxyz123 2 years ago
I'd be more worried about getting salmonella from poorly cooked chicken thighs than the eggs. I don't think there's much risk of ether in this case.
Might have to try this in a dutch oven. looks pretty tasty.
asbestosboy 2 years ago
The bbq gets hotter than a stove top. I don't think there's any danger of undercooked chicken.

I just put the dishes away after making this tonight...
Neither the rain, nor the 38 degree temps here in Michigan could stop me !
Anyhow, gotta tell you that this came out fantastic !
The meat just fell off of the bone...so tender and juicy. I went with baked potatoes instead of the rice, and it went great with the gravy on top.
Tasted fantastic ! I am major-stuffed right now after crushing 3 of those bad boys. Next time, I wanna add some heat to it I think.
Great recipe and thanks again !
