  • incredibly moving

  • utterly, utterly brilliant

  • 1 person didn't like this song... seriously?

  • Universal language.

  • Very moving and appropriate music. Thank you sincerely to all those who have sacrificed so greatly for our freedom, those who live with the memory of loved ones and friends who never returned and those who live hour by hour with the physical and emotional scars of conflict.

  • WW1?, its would knowing all of them are dead, and only 1 or 2 alive to tell the story.

  • This piece is so moving. I remember playing it to my friend in America and she like me was gob smacked. Nigel Kennedy is so very talented and this deep moving piece is proof of the sheer quality of his playing. I love it. It has a haunting sadness and the title itself affects you knowing so many people needlessly have been killed by mans inhumanity to man. I think i will always love this track. Try playing it travelling over the yorkshire moors...in mist....Atmospheric...Thanks for loading.

  • @1912cunard thanks for your comment it truly is a haunting piece of music but the trouble is the war and killing still goes on .

  • Already listened to the "Riders on the Storm" cover, which is quite good imo, but this one is just mind-blowing...

  • trichoone, you really deserve to be proud of this video. I watch it time and again. Love Nigel Kennedys sound. The way he treats music (whatever he plays) with respect and passion hits my soul as do your excellent pictures. Dignety and respect. Thank you so much. As Nigel would say - "proper man."

  • A totally amazing piece! I remember the first time I heard this, on a CD several years ago, and from the very first moment, I felt like my breath was taken away. The emotion in that violin is like nothing I'd heard for a long time. Unfortunately, after many years of good service, the CD broke. So thank you so much for placing this on Youtube. It's wonderful to hear it once again XX
