Jak stands up to bullets like that ALL the time.

He can also change into Dark Jak in half a second which'll halve the damage he recieves, or if he's been to the Oracle for the 3rd time he'll be invinsible.

Praxis did put it in like that and Torn told Jak and Daxter the story...that was probably about the money...or when any of us take out Praxis on top of his palace...at least when he gets his ass kicked.
