  • Who's singing the harmonies at 4:43?!?

  • WHERE'S THE LEATHER!

  • Why did Les Binks leave priest? Was he kicked out? I never found out. I'm sorry, but Dave Holland was a shit drummer. They couldn't play Exciter again till Travis came along.

  • @Methrt3 And don't we forget that Les Binks helped to create Beyond The Realms of Death!

  • this is vintage!!!

  • Rob's just come from karate class in this one!!

  • @RUKEAL

Nah, it looks more like he's dressed like Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. In fact, there's even a song from Stained Class LP called "White Heat, Red Hot" that was inspired by Star Wars lightsaber battles.

  • @headhunter1983

No, the song white heat red hot was inspired from the band's home town which was a metal forging town. Nothing to do with star wars. Many of their songs reflect their heritage with the metal workers of their birth place.

  • Fuck this is heavy. Total thrash in 78!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Serious highway metal!! Priest fuckin rules

  • I'm very sure, thats Les Binks on the drums..he is one hellva drummer,I wish he would have stayed with Priest

  • Damn this song ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob Halford has always been one of my true heavy metal heroes! Long live The Priest!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • JUDAS PRIEST , FUCK YEAH !

  • They were sooo far ahead of their time. Priest rules...always have, always will.

  • The drummer in this video is tearin' shit up!!

  • haha shit this is old

  • Screaming like NEVER BEFORE!!!

  • Even now, 30 years later, it holds up. I remember hearing this for the first time in 1979. Considered in the context of the time, it was just so hard and fast, with Les Binks just tearing up the double-bass kit, it was unlike anything we had ever heard....still is.

  • This must be part of the 5 song video recorded at Kosei-nenken Hall in Japan 7-31-1978.

  • Absolutely agree with you

JoshMurphy666, i like better what they made in the 70's. Stained Class and Sin after Sin are, in my oppinion, their best works. They are great

  • hhaha at 2.11' GOLD

  • My favorite Priest song. Though, I have to admit, they look weird when they're onstage and they're not wearing leather. They still rock my socks, though.

  • Well back in the 70's, they sounded a lot better than they look, as opposed to the 80's and beyond, where they looked a lot better than they sounded.

Seriously, with the exception of "Painkiller", I prefer 70's Priest (Sad Wings to Hell Bent For Leather) a lot more than anything else beyond.

  • Definitely. Sad Wings of Destiny is one of my favorite albums of theirs, as well as Hell Bent and Stained Class. Sin after Sin was really good too. Though, in the 80's they had some pretty good albums, but they definitely had the image down pat. And Painkiller was a complete right hook to the face. It was such a masterpiece, so different yet it has that distinguishable Priest sound.

  • @WolfmanAWS I used to like their 80's albums (well most of them, I didn't Turbo or Ram It Down), but I dunno, I guess as time went on and as I got older (I'm 27 years old and been listening to Priest since I was 10), I developed more of an appreciation for their 70's works. Plus, I have a tendency to like bands' eariler albums before they got famous (Metallica anybody?)

  • @ajbstormrider83

At 42 now, I grew up on JP when JP wasn't cool...like Iron Maiden and LZ. Never could understand how you could compare any of the late 80 metal acts to JP. Their earlier psychadelic stuff was so unappreciated also!

Seem them multiple times live! RH is one of the best out there! Never fails to be a good show!

  • i agree 100% with you the voice of halford livein the 80 and beyond

  • Les Binks .. on drums... I wonder what happened to him?

  • Yeah he was awesome. I wished they hadn't have ditched him in favor Dave Holland, who is, IMO, god-awful (and a child molester as well).

  • You spot on..I could play dave hollands beats when I was 9 yrs old

  • Judas Priest the original and only METAL GODS

  • DEL AÑO DEL MAZO! pero weno! xD

  • i heard rumor like Rob Halford is gay or homosexual X P

  • That's not a rumor my friend, that is a fact.

    Rob Halford is homosexual.

But no one really cares all that much since he's so awesome and that the public has been more accepting since he came out of the closet.

  • ok sorry he is really cool he sings

  • Killer video!!!!!!!! Old Priest rules. Check out VSD videos on here for some more metal. Different style than the mighty Priest but very heavy nonetheless.

  • Judas Priest invented the black leather studded look for Heavy Metal in 1979. Before that EVERY Rockband was wearing satin flower shit!

Exciter is one of the all time great Priest classice. Robs voice is divine.

  • A real classic!I love JP!(the drummer must be the fastest in that time!lol)

  • My favorite Priest song.

  • piece of art, old school heavy art, we have only to learn!! 5 stars man

  • Hail to the Preist! I went fuken twisted on Sin after Sin and Exciter back in the day...I had those albums when they were new! holy shitola! - Still luv em, had an impact everlasting.

  • Les Binks on drums!!!

  • Judas Priest rocks my face. MY FACE!!!

  • I fukin love halford's voice i wish i could of seen him in his prime

  • The force is with you, Rob Skywalker!!!!

  • Oh My GOD!!! This is so clasic. I don't know where you got it, but it is very cool.

Everyting off of Stained Class was good. Thank you for he vid Man really. I am in dept to you.

  • Halford's voice is unbelievable in this.

  • totally

  • @Sylak you can say that again!!!

  • Thanks for posting this video. It is truely a classic!

  • thanks, rob's vocal style really changed with screaming for vengeance, he sang like this until the SFV album, when i saw the point of entry tour he still sang like this, he then changed his style of singing from SFV on, still XLNT, just not that crisp sharp sound like this

  • HELL YES great days of priest point of entry, i think his voice changed from touring ,age and cock, haha

seriously, i want to remember priest of yesteryear, thats why i didnt go to the last tour

  • If anybody is interested, I posted HELLION's cover version of EXCITER with ANN BOLEYN singing Rob Halford's part on my youtube page. IMO the HELLION version is the best remake of the mighty JP's song.

  • I checked that out Neckwatcher, and it rocks. Probably the best female metal singer I ever heard. Exciter is a very very difficult song for anybody to sing. It is surprising that a chick would have enough power.

  • yea, i think she did it well, i don't think the hellion band ever wnt too far, they're music didn't give you anything to grab onto, it's not always about fast guitar when you want to sell records, you need more substance

  • Judas Priest at their best!
