I only noticed the screen distorting line in the menu screen for HDBOXPro when using higher resolutions. Other than that, the video itself has never had any issues.
Hi, I own version 1.0 of the HD Box Pro, noticed you have version 1.1 (1920x1080 available, v1 didn't have that). Did you by any chance notice any screen distorting line, that slowly scrolls from bottom to top? I have that issue with any resolution setting, although with different intensity and it's especially noticable with 240p content (like symphony of the night on the ps2 in ps1 mode). I'm really thinking about buying the new version - if this issue has been taken care of.
Is this the only vga box in the market that can convert a PS3 signal and scale it to a 16:10 native resolution? I have an Apple LCD 20" (1680x1050) with a DVI input -- will the HD Box Pro work?
The Apple LCD is not HDCP compliant, will there be issues? Thanks.
There are 2 types of screen mode in this console. 4:3 and 16:9
That means that, if you have a 16:10 screen like mine you'll se black bars under and over the image to adapt the 16:9 format.
The other thing that u must know is that the console can adapt the resolution in the User Interface, so I can see the Interface runing at 1680x1050, but the games ONLY run on 720p or 1080p. My screen can't run at 1920x1080 so the games work on 720p always. If u can, use HDMI
Use HDMI if you can, because I've tried conecting a HDMI to DVI cable on my screen (that means that I had to sacrifice the sound) and the games run on 1680x1050, no 720p of the other cable.
If your screen have loudspeakers and it's compatible with HDMI, use that. It's way better!
Well, I hope that my Enclish was understandible... I'm from Spain, you know, hahahaha...
I recomend u an XBOX for this: it's cheaper, it haves the same games in the 80% of the cases, Project Natal looks like a great complement better than PS eye (the PS3 camera) and the online works great. The only thing that i don't like of the console is the pay and play service on the online gaming. That means that you must pay 32€ (maybe 30$) to play online, but the rest of online options are still there (trophys, demos, videos, rent of HD movies, pay and play downloads...)
If you like Gran Turismo, God of War, Metal Gear or Uncharted, buy a PS3.
If you preffer Halo, Gears of War, Splinter Cell, Forza Motorsport 3 or Alan Wake, buy a XBOX360
Personally, Forza is the same as Gran Turismo, and Gears of War is so cool... and Alan Wake could be one of the best games ever, with good controls, awesome graphics and an exciting storyline told as a TV seasson.

@DJordydj as you can see, it leaves black stripes in the top of the screen and in the bottom of the screen.

And the avatars are so cute... XD
but in some cases, it depends on some things...

(Last part, I suare... XD)
If you like Blu-Ray... don't think on PS3, try a B-R player. It's cheaper if you try to browse on the internet. Good luck!
I hope that this was useful for you!
