Do you know what the (proprietary File extension) that Ridetones converts too? Isn't the conversion software on the disc that came with the kit?

I'm so sad, I've been trying to do this for a long time now, just found out about ride tones and now it wont even work? :( .......how does the sound even play? external speakers? sounds loud

@SETFREE21 It has an external speaker that I mounted inside the front bumper (went through the wheel well to get to it). And yes, it's pretty loud when you're standing in front of it. :-)

@kenny101189 The car or the RideTones kit? I ordered the car through my dealership when they were available. The RideTones kit I picked up off of some website or other (don't recall which right now). But it sounds like (from other commenters) that the site you need to use in order to get the sound files to the RideTones unit is no longer availabe, which makes the kit worthless for any new buyers.

@JDMSE3P Not when I used it. But it hadn't been updated in quite some time (not sure RideTones is even an active product anymore) so it wouldn't surprise me if the certificate expired.

what comes in the 4 pack Ridetones and what comes in the regular ridetones pack?

If you install it yourself is easy and fast, do you have to have a professional do it?

It says on the ridetones website "head down to your local auto electronics dealer to have an authorized installer equip your ride with ridetones" Do I have to do that?

Last one can you upload any mp3 from your mp3 into ridetones?

I think the 4 pack is just what it sounds like... 4 Ridetones systems vs 1 system.

I had a local car audio place install it for me. Others have done it themselves... YouTube's comments don't allow URLs, but search the forums on camaro5.com for "Ridetones" . It's under the "Audio, Video,... " forum.

You have to use the RideTones website to convert audio files to the format that the RideTones core uses. It costs a buck a file (I think), but you can convert mp3s and other audio formats.

@lovelydiva06 It's a system called RideTones. I had it installed to work off of the flashing amber lights (the lights flash when the lock/unlock is pressed on the key fob).
