listen to this band called SystemsFall. search systemsfall on youtube and find they're official channel or facebook! they sound like chevelle but better i think
I thought alt-metal/rock was supposed to leave things like politics and complications behind, and just be able to let people scream "burn baby burn!" for once. I love you Chevelle, but I don't know what to do with this.
@hnsvill i completely agree. Chevelle is my favorite band and up until now, they've stayed out of politics and thats one of the reasons that makes them so great to me.
ya fucks dont have a clue. i work 50+ hours a week and make bout 17.00 and some change. ya im fuckn broke too. while if i get a cold and go to the doctor its 100 or more bill in the mail while i pay 48.00 a week for heath care. fuckn joke!!! ya this county dont have a damn clue on how to get anything fixed to buzy being democrate or rep.!
the demands for the occuppy wallstreet protestors are ridiculous though. if you are poor, live like you're poor. save money and don't live beyond your means. you want better regulations for the people running these businesses, that's perfectly acceptable. Corruption and greed suck. but telling them to redistribute wealth is stupid. who wants to be successful if you HAVE to give your money away? Personally, I would give my money to those less fortunate, but a mandate is foolish.
@monalisasmilesforyou no, shit like protesting when you have no idea what you're talking about and blaming stupid cliche things like "corporate wealth" for the fact that you're too lazy to get a job. there's nothing constitutionally wrong with what they're doing, but logically and morally there's a lot wrong with it
Why doesn't VEVO censor the crybabies saying they are getting shit on on fucked over? They take those words out the songs they sponsor...a bit hypocritical I say
@christyc463 lol true. which is wat they should be writing about i guess, not he himself. or am i missing the point? no i get it. its about greed. but MY point was chevelle has written a few songs now that seem to have weird themes. but just so were all clear theyr a great band, iv loved em since the beginning, every song on every cd is solid :)
@THeReALNaPoleAN dont exactly kno what u mean. i dont think i was affected by anything he did but it might be worth a bit of research to see wat really went down before i shoot my mouth off again :)
Just wondering. Would an occupier continue to protest and bitch and complain if they were to turn all of that angst into financial gain for themselves? Instead of wasting your time and energy attempting to point out the disparity of every modern society why not turn that into positive growth for yourselves?
Two thoughts prevail for me. 1. You cannot be a victim if you volunteer. 2. Obediency hardly ever begets innovation.
@racerwes plus you know if half these corporations came down and offered those people jobs the occupiers wouldn't say "NO BECAUSE YOU'RE PART OF A CORRUPT SYSTEM!" they would ditch that protest in a heart beat for that pay check.
Let me clear that up. I agree with them on the fact that we're economically screwed and that we need to change our situation. I disagree with their methods and plans for change.
Chevelle is one of the most inspirational bands, its a shame the are so underrated, they have the talent, the lyrics and the great personalities behind the music. There should be no reason why anybody should not like Chevelle.
wow chevelle really? occupy wall street is the biggest bunch of bullshit i've ever heard, i'm really disappointed that u guys are supporting shit like that.
@walrus12831 It's not so much the Occupy movement itself really as it is about supporting the anger towards being lied to and stolen from. The bailout, Bernie Madoff, etc were all schemes by wealthy people to steal from poor people just to line their pockets. Innocent people's pensions, life savings, college funds, homes all of it gone out the window. It's hard to not get pissed off about that.
@dreapster you are so fucking ignorant. bernie madoff, yes but guess what? HE'S GONE. so protesting wall street is so stupid. and the bailout had nothing to do with wall street people trying to get wealthy, it had to do with the government making bad decisions and wasting money. my brother works on wall street and he says nobody notices or cares about the protest, the people there are just making idiots of themselves. people on wall street actually work their asses off too
@walrus12831 Nobody gives a shit about the Occupy movement aside from bashing how pointless it is that people waste their time with it.
It just redirects people way from the valid anger over shitty governmental regulation, horrific business practices, etc that are devastating the country by supporting corruption.
@dreapster people on wall street usually went to ivy league schools and got straight A's. many of them worked their way there from nothing. so they fucking deserve what they make and i hate it when people act like they're all evil and greedy, they didn't ask for a bailout and obama is an idiot for giving it to them. if someone gave u free money i'm sure you wouldn't turn it down
@walrus12831, It's not about being angry that some people are rich. There's nothing wrong with capitalism. People are fucking pissed at things like bundling sub-prime mortgages, companies using employee PENSION money for personal expenses, the ability of unlimited corporate contributions to political campaigns that can remain non-disclosed. Bad policy making, bad regulation, and bad standards and practices. It's these horrible abuses of the system that piss people off.
@walrus12831 Basically, the corporations that went to congress to ask for the bailout (only a select few of them, mind you), and threatening to take trade out of the country if they didn't get them weren't just the proud recipients of a gift. Threatening massive layoffs of American workers unless given money isn't a gift. That's no "free money"; that's money they worked very hard to scare Congress into giving them.
@walrus12831 "Too Big To Fail" by Andrew Ross Sorkin is quite informative. Henry Paulson, who was a driving force for the "Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008", was a former CEO for Goldman Sachs. The reason why it's not pointless to talk about it is that a lot of the same mechanisms are still in place to repeat the process if the double dip recession worsens.
Still, all of this is pretty far removed from just showing appreciation for an awesome band like Chevelle.
I love music because of Chevelle.......you guys are awesome. Listening to your music is the only way I can escape from all the bullshit.....day to day, month to month, year to year!
lol@ the people degrading a group of people with good intentions. Sometimes I'm fairly certain this race is doomed.
