I can't help but wonder how much the speech by the soda jerk pertains to today's societal problems---I think that this movie needs to be rereleased in the theatres as part of a pre-election platform to politically engage everyone. Hmmmm...food for thought.

This movie has deserved to be rediscovered and resurrected and reconstructed for decades. (Pardon my spelling of "resurrected" if it is wrong.)
As great as I think IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is, I have long thought that this movie is Capra's greatest.
And sometimes, his greatest failure, and I think he thought the same. Because they just didn't know how to end it. It was unresolvable.
But they got the right ending. The John Does themselves said, "Don't Jump!" And Stanwyck especially.
