I play EUIII, and I've never seen any reason to downgrade to EUII. What is different about For the Glory from EUII that makes it worthwhile? And then there's this mod for For the Glory you are playing. What does that do besides add more events?

Are events scripted? That is, do historical events always happen on the same date every time you play (aside from random ones, of course)? One of the things I like about 3 is that you never know what will happen, but I've heard in 2 it is scripted.

@thebigJ1er Basicaly I understand what you mean. But I always had a bit of a curiosity in me to try the older games too. Actaully when I have a choice I always start with the older ones, that way I never have the feeling that "this game sucks, the new is better".

The difference between EU2 and FTG I can not tell because I never tried EU2. For the Glory is basicaly, as you said, about the events. Yup, they are preatty much scripted but they claim there is over 10 000 of them (!). Ton of fun.
