I dont think the Knicks would have beat the Bulls.I think they would have beat the heat without the suspensions. They would have given the Bulls a run for their money but not beaten them.

Jordan himself had said in the summer of 1997 that "thank God we didn't meat the Knicks". In the reg. season the 2 teams were totally balanced out. Anyway it would have been the best series of history.
I remember him saying that and yes they were evenly matched during the season.I agree it would have been the greatest serries ever,I think the Bulls would have found a way to win but it would have been a grueling challenge to do so.
stern, thorn and co. managed to prevent what would be the best series of all time. After they robbed the Knicks like that that year I got sick of nba and I was watching it very little thenceforth.
This was such a kickass season. If MJ wasn't around, I think we could've beat the Jazz in the finals. Sure, Malone was MVP that year but Mourning had his best yar defensively ever, and he has had a lot of good defensive seasons. He would've shut Malone down on defense, and would've destroyed him on offensive. Then Hardaway and Lenard would've destroyed Stockton on offense.
Both our '97 and '99 teams could've easily been NBA champions. Too bad the refs gave NY every call in Game 5 in '99.
Dude. Give me a break. The Heat were chokers. The only reason they won this series is because the Knicks got the raw end of the deal on this brawl. They took away Houston and Ewing for the pivotal game six. With Houston and Ewing, it would have been Knicks-Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Imagine lebron on this team.

The true was the Kinicks always was an arrogant team back then.Never never took looses very well, even snobing the Bulls.
But guess what, they lost that final against Spurs and they deserve to continue to be the loosers.

96-97 heat, 2nd best heat team in history after 06 champs.
heatbasketball101 2 years ago 7
3rd would be the 04-05 Heat.
They may have played better than the 05-06 heat. Starting the playoffs with two swepts, but the end the 05-06 capture the title.
