  • being the first dosent mean its the best

  • Amsoil is horrible

  • I'm not picky with brands, but I would never use synthetics!

  • @MotorHeadGreg OK good for you.

  • @MotorHeadGreg I am curious why would you not use synthetic oil, I've used synthetic oil for years, my current car a 2005 Accord only takes synthetic oil and i have just recently hit 152,000 miles in it and it runs as smooth as cream, and it feels as sharp and as good if not marginally better than the day I bought it from the dealership, the mechanic that services my car is full of praise for Synthetic oils.

  • I used Amsoil for four years in my 2001 Ford F150, talk about sludge! Bought a 2006 F150 and been using Mobil1 in it for five years and NO PROBLEMS!!!!!!

  • @timhvac100 Hmmm sludge can be caused by other things. Oil Analysis anyone?

I've seen sludge form in that engine because of very small coolant leak. I know this will not change your mind but testing is a good idea.

  • My '97 Volvo recommended oil changes every 10,000 miles. I did it more often but it's what the manual recommends and the style driving you do.

  • Mobil1 is a better oil then Amsoil! I know I've used both and I'm a former Amsoil dealer, I wouldn't use Amsoil in anything I own!!!

  • @timhvac100 Why is mobil better then amsoil ? I am not mechanic but winter time its much easier to start car at -27 C that runs amsoil then mobil.

Other thing is that amsoil cost half price of mobil one :)

  • hahah, mobil 1 goes to F1, where is amsoil?

  • @gforce7800 - AMSOIL Isn't sold to the F-1 market, so there's no benefit to market AMSOIL in F-1 racing. Many professional racing teams use AMSOIL. Check out my channel and see. :)

  • mobil 1 better than amsoil :D

  • @gforce7800 - Not really. Besides, how would you know? You live in Argentina and AMSOIL isn't available there. :)

  • Wonder if this oil is good then toss on royal purple oil filter

  • @superhawkn - The AMSOIL oil filter is good for up to 25,000 miles and costs less to use, as well as having that advantage of cutting-edge nano fiber technology. AMSOIL is the only company I am aware of that offers high-tech nano fiber technology in oil filters. The U.S. Army Abrams M1 main battle tank has an air filter utilizing nano fiber technology. Check out my channel and look for the air filter video. Enjoy. :)

  • That oil is way to expansive. No one sells it anywhere.

  • @nanthony777 - There are AMSOIL dealers all over the U.S. and Canada. The products are sold everywhere, coast to coast. AMSOIL products *save money*. Using AMSOIL in my own daily driver, I save over $300 a year in reduced maintenance costs and better fuel economy. Personally, I can't afford to toss $300 into the trash.

  • @nanthony777 If you live in North America you can get it directly from them. It cost 30$ per year to have account with them and oild cost about 25$ per galon.

What I do is open account pay 30 $ then buy enough oil for motorcycle and car that would last me another 2 years and then I dont renew account until next time I need oil :D

  • Yea right

  • you change the oil the maker of the car recommends, Using more expensive oils is a waste of money

  • @newgun2000 - I agree, using the very expensive petroleum oils is a waste of money. Using AMSOIL synthetic motor oils instead saves me over $300 per year in reduced maintenance costs and improved fuel economy vs using expensive petroleum oils. Even if someone provided me another brand of oil for *free*, it would cost me more to use than AMSOIL. Again, I agree that wasting money is not a wise thing to do. :)

  • @HiTechOilCo it reduces maintance costs how? make air filter and plugs last longer? make better MPG ? makes tires last longer? I have seen it all and found none of those claims to be true.

  • @newgun2000 - By reducing the need for repetitive oil changes, which is a maintenance cost. Yes, it increases fuel economy, saving more money. These factors save me over $300 per year compared to the expensive, wasteful petroleum oils.

  • @HiTechOilCo I have never come close to spending 300 a year on oil on all my cars combined. Fuel milage? I can save even more fuel checking the tire pressure and maing sure its correct and driving slower then ANY oil you have. So please try again I am not convinced this does any better then the regular oil then the car makes requires for it

  • @newgun2000 - I only have to do *one* oil change per year, as opposed to *six* oil changes using the cheap petroleum stuff. That saves money. After using AMSOIL, the highway fuel economy of my car increased almost 3 mpg vs using petroleum oil. That saves a ton of money. :)

  • @HiTechOilCo a year one oil change. I read the Owners manual and in one year I just need to change it once. So try again, I hear all these claims for MPG but I can get about 10 MPG better just driving 55 MPH instead or 80 so please try again how this stuff works.

Look I am sure you have a good product but there are zillions on crazy claims about this stuff online and most are not real.

  • @newgun2000 - So drive 55, 60, 65, 80 mph or whatever speed you like and benefit from improved fuel economy. What car do you own that recommends once a year oil changes? Which crazy claims do you refer to that aren't real? The video above has no crazy claims. :)

  • read the owners manual. It gave the specs something you lack. It also gives recomended milage times as well but you did not specily that did you when you said you changed it once a year. As for any other oil claims I doubt them as well you said 3 MPG over normal oil? and how did you get that spec? Did you put the car on a dyno and run it for a few hunder miles and the drain the oil and drive in on a dyno for the same conditions? I doubt it. Its all a mechincal placebo and nothing more.

  • @newgun2000 - I think we're on two different pages hear. My fault, sorry. Let me clarify. Using AMSOIL synthetic motor oil, I only have to change the oil once per year. So that saves substantial money in un-needed oil change/maintenance costs. I have an established test track if you will where I drive the exact same road, the exact same distance, etc., using my daily driver that has an onboard fuel economy computer. I also calculate the fuel economy using a calculator. It's accurate.

  • get your oil analyze through blackstone lab if you want to know specifically when you should change the oil. changing it every 3,000 miles is what the salesman said.

  • @choua01 - I'd strongly recommend an oil analysis that includes TBN, (Total Base Number), testing. An adequate TBN number is what really determines if an oil is suitable for continued use, or not. Some oil analysis laboratories don't include TBN testing with their oil analysis and charge quite a bit extra for performing this test. The TBN number indicates if there's enough additive package chemicals to attack and neutralize contaminants, or not. TBN testing is critical.

  • That API stuff was neat.... How many AMSoil products have an API rating? Why don't they ALL have an API rating?

AMSoil is just another multi-level marketting scheme. You recite company rhetoric and sell product just like an Avon Lady does.

  • @namrawmij, as if the API was designed to protect the consumer and their wallets. If you don't like AMSOIL don't use their products, please don't make the mistake of believing what the API says is good. They are only a puppet of the oil industry. Good luck to you.

  • @namrawmij - Many entry level AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are API rated. API rated oils assure that the oil is formulated to meet *minimum performance standards*, nothing more. Many companies formulate non-API rated motor oils because they want a better performing oil, as does AMSOIL. Network marketing is endorsed by the Federal Trade Commission and it certainly isn't any, "scheme".

  • Mobil 1...for standard in Mercedes

  • with synthetic its 5,000 miles. dino oil i believe its 3,000

  • twe-twen-twenty five?!?! uh what???? like, even if the oil and filter were perfect somehow, just the sheer amount of metal wear built up in that period of time would just... I mean... Just no. Just no. I drive around town a lot and often pretty hard, even when I finish breaking in my engine and switch to synthetic I don't think I'd ever go over 3,500 miles, I don't care that the dealer says 3750-7500.

  • @purgatory13z You are a goof ball... Synthetic oil with a really good quality filter could get AT LEAST 7500 miles.

  • @mrblob20 Yes that's true, but if you're hard on your engine, it would be easy to consider reducing the amount of miles you put on an individual oil change. I was mainly shaken up by the idea that one might drive 25,000 miles on a particular oil change. I just don't think engines are built with the kind of tolerances that would allow for that, while having no adverse effects.

  • @purgatory13z After about 20,000 miles the 'oil' has a MUD consistancy, I would recommend no more than 5,000 miles between oil changes though.

  • @purgatory13z - AMSOIL inc. has been recommending and warrantying up to 25,000 mile drain intervals using AMSOIL synthetic motor oil for *decades*, ever since AMSOIL pioneered the synthetic lubricants industry for cars and trucks way back in 1972 with the world first 100% synthetic API rated motor oil. That's a very long track record of success with millions of over the road miles traveled. Yes, you're correct that asking any motor oil to last for 25,000 miles that *isn't formulated* for the...

  • @purgatory13z ...rigors of extended drain service, (as AMSOIL is), would be foolhardy. As with any products, there can be distinct differences in motor oils. I've personally gone well past 25,000 miles using AMSOIL synthetic motor oils with drain intervals of over 100,000 miles and the laboratory oil analysis reports stating, "Suitable for continued use". If the oil doesn't need changing, there's no benefit to changing it. Check out my channel for the 409k Oil Drain Interval video. Enjoy! :)

  • @mrblob20 - That depends on the quality/performance of the synthetic oil in question and whether it is formulated for safe extended drain intervals or not.

  • I use Amsoil 0W-20 with a complete ByPass system in my Jeep Wrangler. I do a regular oil test to make sure I have no problems. The factory filters are too small to really take full advantage of an extended drain.

  • change your oil every 5000 km /3000 miles. more often if youre drivin tough (traffic, offroad, trailering ect). Or every 2 months, wichever comes first. Dont care what the car manufacturer or oil salesman says. Its not a question of oil life but how long the filter goes before its full of crap. NEVER cheap out on oil, filter or regular maintenance. you will thank yourself in 20 years when everyone else is buying new cars and yours is still like brand new. i drive a 25 year old car and its mint.

  • @LakeErieFising So it seems like you're saying that you change your oil because the filter fills up with stuff (dirt, metal filings, etc.). So why don't you just change the filter and top up the oil?

  • @origGoof Because oil (even good oil) is cheap when you look at the big picture.

  • @LakeErieFising Why do you say every two months? I can't drive my 6-speed right now cause of a back issue, but lets say I put 200 miles on it in the last three months, driving it once every two weeks. What would happen?

  • @purgatory13z oil never goes bad . as long as its not contaminated. if it can sit in the ground for billions of years then it can sit in yor car for well over 2 months. diesel if its sealed upwill last and never go stale.

  • not me don't care still change oil 3-4k n how the heck the filter last 25k O.o i work in the oil change industry n i'll tell ya filters DONT last that long!

  • @twiztedninja1980 That's why I change my oil filter every ~2500-3000 miles, oil every 5k. Mobil 1 10w40 in the summer ( Texas ), 5w30/40 in "winter."

  • A Em S OIL sucks : )

  • i use motul and change every year and a half

  • seein a test of amsoil and it went from 5w30 to 15w40 in 12 k miles i would never leave it for fuckin 25k!!!!

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkk i hate dumb fucking videos like this, blahblahblahblahblahblah

  • WASTE OF TIME! GOTO next vid!

  • just an advert - no real info.
