does joker has a history about who he is and what cause him to be the joker or it is completely unknown and is still a mystery...because i watch batman mask of the phantasm (the cartoon animated movie) and the movie revealed that joker was a member of a mob and maybe a hitman...

THE best superhero movie ever made. Nothing else is even close. Heath Ledger is now an immortal. No Batman movie made from now until the end of time should ever have the Joker in it. Because, next to THIS performance anything else would be a sad joke.

NOT "DROVE HIM CRAZY"! HE NEEDED THE PILLS TO RECOVER FOR THE NEXT DAY, BECAUSE THIS ROLL TIRED HIM! IT WAS NEEDED TO GIVE IN A GREAT AMOUNT OF PLANS, ENERGY AND CONCENTRATION FOR THE ACTING!
And another thing, for those, who think Ledger just won because his dead: MY FOOT!! From that 5 people nominated for those rolls they had (like P.S. Hoffman) would've won the Oscar anyhow! And the little Matilda will receive that golden statue when she'll be 18 years old!

Why are you little comic book nerds raging over Batmans voice? If Batman talked like Bruce Wayne does it would sound silly. He uses that voice to sound scary and to intimidate his enemies.
